MmeL - no, you're right, it hasn't shown anything up.

FlamingoBingo · 23/11/2011 17:51

Oh, hang on! You don't get it until the end of hte month, do you, when it divides up the amount in your account.

MmeLindor. · 23/11/2011 18:14

Oh, yes. Of course. You won't see it yet.

I think that is crucial, Tee. If the link is just discretely placed, and you don't say things like, "if you liked this post, please give me some dosh" then the reader can ignore it.

I suspect people will be divided into those who know what it is and are happy to click on it. And those who don't even notice it is there and have no idea what it is.

For me, it is a way of spreading the lurrve, and when I think that I used to spend at least £5 a month of glossy mags that were often badly written - I'd rather divide my fiver between some bloggers who have written bloody good posts that month.

PetiteRaleuse · 23/11/2011 18:21

Inspired by some of you on here last week I have blogged this evening about blogger's block

And how I get around it, and look for new ideas when I actually have nothing to say (which happens more often than you may think!)

Tee
Just gone back and had another look at the webhosting stuff. Webhostinghub said,

"Consumption of upwards of twice the amount of processing power allowed on servers four times in less than 60 days."

Is that to do with bandwidth?

Cause I have used 13gb from Aug to Nov. And new company (blacknight.ie if anyone wants to have a look) said that I have 20gb a month, so shouldn't be a problem.

JentlyDoesIt · 23/11/2011 18:33

Evening all :)

Just blogged about the ups and downs of being a lone parent whilst ill. Am off to bed with Thing 1 and Thing 2 as I have a high temp and feeling v sorry for myself

JentlyDoesIt · 23/11/2011 18:35

Argh, I'll convert that link shall I?

Tee2072 · 23/11/2011 19:31

Yeah, MmeL, that would be bandwidth. I did see that above and was surprised they said it was too much. I take it that coincided with things like the miscarriage campaign?

And I guess you're right about Flattr but just not my thing!

Looking good FB!

DillyTante · 23/11/2011 20:03

Awww Jently, must be tough parenting on your own when you are ill. Hope you all feel better soon.

DH and I watching Frozen Planet - it's amazing! Have managed to take my eyes off it for a few minutes to write this short post about my Super (quick) Ted.

QueenMaeve · 23/11/2011 21:11

ShirleyKnot · 23/11/2011 22:06

I'm never sure what the deal is with these "award" things.

never mind I wrote a post about my nomination

It's basically a blog hop I think - anyway, some of you guys got linked.

staranise · 23/11/2011 22:17

Hi

I'm new to this but here's today post - I blog about children's literature and working in children's publishing/other stuff that interests me and today's post is a little random, it's about 'Game of Thrones':

Have renewed perspective and am now really looking forward to celebrating Thanksgiving. Post about the questions and comments I get from Brits about good old Turkey Day.

notatschool · 23/11/2011 23:07

Just watched Matthew Wright present a very well balanced and informed section about home education on his programme. NAAT!

Love your blog, really interesting. Have subscribed via RSS feed.

ShirleyKnot · 24/11/2011 09:20

Thanksgiving dinner Mme? God I'm jealous. What are you having - apart from the turkey obv?

DillyTante · 24/11/2011 09:22

Morning all.

Hi ATO. In answer to your questions, the recent blogs are all the mumsnet blogs. If you have joined the Mn blog network you don't have to do anything. Twitter is also a good way of publicising your blog. Do you tweet?

ShirleyKnot · 24/11/2011 09:26

StarAnise - what a lovely blog you have!

MummyBarrow · 24/11/2011 09:32

Morning ladies. Here is my post for today

www.mummybarrow.com/2011/11/tattoos-i-am-not-a-fan-but/

The painful story of why I have my tattoo.

MmeLindor. · 24/11/2011 09:33

Oops, sorry. ATO. I didn't mean to ignore you. Welcome to MNBN.

Have we decided on an acronym, btw? I saw @mumsnetbloggers were using one last week. Will look

Shirley
We are having puff pastry with salmon nibbles, followed by turkey with roast potatoes, green been bake and roasted vegetables, then pumpkin pie.

Will get the camera out and take some photos for the blog.

PetiteRaleuse · 24/11/2011 09:33

OK have joined in on the tell me about yourself award - thanks Shirley

Wow - so many new posts to read this week! Love your post QueenMaeve, am just off to add my two penn'orth. Today I blogged about whether Christmas cards are great or just a big waste of money.

PetiteRaleuse · 24/11/2011 10:55

Great post QueenMaeve shall bookmark it for future reference (as DD is only 8 months and we are spending Xmas at the ILs I count myself as exempted from Christmas duties one last time...)
