Anyone?

I will start off with a link to my latest post, a part of the story of Beth (formerly known as Dora) who moved to Geneva to escape a relationship turned sour.

This is NOT me, by the way. I have drawn on my knowledge of Geneva but it is not an autobiograpy :)

Trillian the Oatmeal is genious. Hadn't seen that one so thank you.

Here's my first for the day about back to school in France

I'll be updating twice today as I want to talk about GentleOtter later on

bullet234 · 02/09/2011 10:40

I was reading the Oatmeal cartoons out to DH, they are very funny Grin.

If anyone has any posts, new or old which feature cooking, crafts or childrens activities, I''d love if you would link them up to my blog. I'm having my first 'blog hop' this weekend.Grin

If you've never taken part in one before, all it entails is copying and pasting your link address into the space on my blog page. A little tumbnail pic of your post will show up and readers can click on it and go to your blog.

Its a good way of getting new readers and finding some new blogs to read yourself

I'm hoping to get a decent number to join up there will be Wine Brew and Biscuit s Grin

I've added my recipe for ginger biscuits. Would you be willing to donate some blood in exchange?

Cheria · 02/09/2011 11:14

A rant in support of GentleOtter here

queenmaeve · 02/09/2011 13:12

cheeria a very worthwhile post indeed. I am forever grateful to blood donors after I had 2 transfusions after placental abruption.
Unfortunately I am meds for thyroid so can't donate but thankfully everyone in our family has been donating since I got the transfusions. Its awful but sometimes it just takes someone you know to need blood for it to become important to you.

Thanks for the ginger biscuit recipe post! Hope you enjoy looking at all the blogs! Smile

Cheria · 02/09/2011 13:25

I'm going to have to start putting more recipes on my blog. I do have two more but they're not really recipes I'd share as they are both comfort food satisfying various cravings I had the day I made them.

I did always mean to put more recipes up there though.

I used to donate in the UK, then when I came to France I wasn't allowed to because of the mad cow crisis! Now I can't donate in the UK either as my transfusions were in France.

In with a squeak, meeting a deadline. Here's my latest stitchery creation.

ScatCatShoo · 03/09/2011 05:52

I have another post on courgettes! Sorry! I just have a gigantic glut of those vegetables, and the neighbours are sick of them... and I have five more coming along again! Sigh!

But this recipe is very very good, I promise :)

Spiced Courgettes

DillyTante · 03/09/2011 08:05

Queenmaeve, is it thyroxine you are on? You can still donate I think, as long as your prescription hasn't changed in the last 3 months.

Scatcat, wish you could send some of those courgettes over here! We had to give up our allotment this year as we couldn't manage it. Have you tried courgette cake?

TrillianAstra · 03/09/2011 11:08

I'll have sme courgettes - mine totally failed this year.

Tee2072 · 03/09/2011 11:10

Why I've not been around...

SweetestThing · 03/09/2011 12:43

Hello, everyone - been a bit quiet for the last few days and can't seem to get GentleOtter's situation out of my mind.

My latest effort is here

No Dilly I don't take thyroxine. I have an auto immune diesese called Graves which send the thyroid hyper not hypo. I take carbimazole and a dose of beta blockers to steady the ticker. Honestly I don't think anyone would want my blood! Grin

ScatCatShoo · 03/09/2011 18:18

Dilly, Trillian, you can totally have mine seriously :) I just have so many of them... I am actually making a courgette and banana cake today, just to use some of them up. I also noticed a new neighbour, muahahaha!!

Queenmaeve, I linked up to the blog hop, lovely idea. Some of the linked crafty stuff is gorgeous.

Vera, really enjoying your blog.

Stitch, you are so creative... I would have had blood all over that pretty ring pillow :)

Reality, you do know that its quicker to cook a curry than get one from the takeaway? Wink

Tee, fingers crossed for you :(

I am planning a massive blog catch up this weekend, its the long weekend here, but sigh, when have we mums ever had a long weekend? DH is away and our TV has been going on non-stop, yes, bad bad mum , me.

FlamingoBingo · 03/09/2011 18:52
