Anyone?

I will start off with a link to my latest post, a part of the story of Beth (formerly known as Dora) who moved to Geneva to escape a relationship turned sour.

This is NOT me, by the way. I have drawn on my knowledge of Geneva but it is not an autobiograpy :)

I forgot about this, which is probably a good thing as I tend to post every day but here's one of today's posts about a little seen portrait of Princess Diana. I'm slightly scared this post will get me chucked into the Tower!

Today's other post is a review of the film Bright Star. :)

I have linked to you Mme-like your blog very very much-and so luxurious looking-I am a big fan of historical fiction [:-)]
I have been vaguely busy on blog-went to some shit places t'other day but thinking of how to write about them made them interesting.

Aw, thank you very much! That's very kind of you! A lot of history blogs have quite dry appearances and go for the whole Olde Worlde look, whereas I wanted mine to be all light and pretty and, yes, a bit on the luxe side of things. ;)

I love reading your blog too - next time we go to the Highwayman Inn in the winter, I'll be sure to take plenty of photos for you! :)

DillyTante · 12/08/2011 21:20

MmeGuillotine · 13/08/2011 12:08

I have a competition to win afternoon tea for two at the Radisson Edwardian Vanderbilt in London on my blog today. This is cunningly tied in with a post about my next book and Consuelo Vanderbilt. ;)

TheAlphaParent · 13/08/2011 12:19

Snapespeare - what a magnificent piece you have written. It is deeply humbling and so true.

MmeGuillotine, your blog is so elegant. I love it.

Thebabywife - good luck with everything.

Am going to read the other blogs just now.

BsDad · 14/08/2011 22:43

I am struggling to understand how this all works. I've had my confirmation email, put the logo on my blog and sent a profile pic in. I've posted on my (external) blog but I'm not sure what happens next! Oh well, here's the link anyway!

FlamingoBingo · 14/08/2011 23:19

NOthing happens, BsDad :) It's just that any new posts should show up ont he bloggers network page here

Having said that, I can't find it when I search for it - ask MNHQ what's going on, maybe?

PeppermintPanda · 15/08/2011 17:20

Here is my new post.

MmeGuillotine · 15/08/2011 19:02

My latest post is a big PHEW after finishing my third book (yet another French Revolutionary saga) and a pause for thought before starting the fourth (about the last victim of Jack the Ripper, which may or may not involve vampires).

Tee2072 · 15/08/2011 20:51

Hi all.

I'm way behind after being ill most of last week but I'll try to catch up with all the new bloggers.

I've posted a couple of things but Here's the newest.

stitchthis · 15/08/2011 21:42

a VERY intellectual post from me...Grin

DirtyMartini · 15/08/2011 21:57

Evening all.

It looks like I was "featured" today. I really appreciate this in principle, but ... I had a couple of much better posts recently that were overlooked, and the one they've featured is basically a quick "must post something, this will have to do" type entry. It's part of Augusta's memoir, but not one of the more exciting or historically interesting parts, particularly.

And it's a few days old already, too - not new.

And they have "trailed" it saying Augusta is in NY, when she is in fact in Waterbury, Connecticut. Easy mistake to make; but still.

I don't really get why they passed on recent stronger posts that genuinely deserved a bit of oxygen, but have trained a spotlight on this one ... if anyone clicks on it b/c it's featured I'm afraid they will assume it must be among the best I can offer as it's been picked up by MN. You know? At least, that's what I would probably subconsciously think if I clicked through the featured header to a blog that I hadn't tried before.

Slightly moot point anyway as only two people have clicked from the MN bloggers home page today.

Bah. [grumpy]

(If MNHQ is reading, I don't mean to be ungrateful at all, it's just the end of a very long day. Sorry.)

DirtyMartini · 15/08/2011 21:58

Sorry to hear you were ill, Tee.

DirtyMartini · 15/08/2011 22:01
