Anyone?

I will start off with a link to my latest post, a part of the story of Beth (formerly known as Dora) who moved to Geneva to escape a relationship turned sour.

This is NOT me, by the way. I have drawn on my knowledge of Geneva but it is not an autobiograpy :)

purplepidjincantatem · 22/07/2011 13:47

Cheers, Tee! I've been brewing that one for a week or so, just needed time to clarify what I wanted to say Blush

DillyTante · 22/07/2011 20:36

Hello, just to let you know that I am enjoying checking out everyone's blogs.

OnlyWantsOne · 24/07/2011 19:06

hello all

today I took lots of photos - here

would you mind telling me what you think of them?

purplepidjin · 24/07/2011 21:05

Aww, bless!!!!!

I wish I could take photos, I seem to just blur everything even with DP's superwhizzy camera Sad

I have dribble bibs in stock if you want to PM me

DillyTante · 24/07/2011 21:07

Just had a look at your photos, I think they are great and your subjects are very cute :)

But if you want an actual critical appraisal of the photos I can ask DH who is a photographer to cast an eye over them?

OnlyWantsOne · 24/07/2011 21:20

dilly Ive dabled in photography - I actually want to be a proper photographer, you know... as a job!! But terrified im shit etc etc

purple - i dont understand?? explain :) xx

DillyTante · 24/07/2011 22:12

Well, DH is just starting up his own business. He is a fab photographer, but with two young kids and a full time job he is struggling to get off the ground. It's his website that is taking such a long time. He has designed and built it himself, though he is still tweaking it, it's taken him a long time, and until he gets it up he won't get any new business (just been family, friends and friends of friends so far) If you like I will send a link to your blog to DH who can tell you what he thinks (he is very into lighting, colour balance and other things that just make me switch off!) if you wouldn't mind in return, in a few weeks time, giving him some feedback on his website when he finally gets it up?

DillyTante · 24/07/2011 22:15

I'm b u m p e l i c i o u s btw, this is my blogging name !

OnlyWantsOne · 24/07/2011 22:29

Happily. I've got lots of other photos too. I've done 3 weddings, a christening etc too

DirtyMartini · 25/07/2011 21:20

Hello all. I've just been catching up and have left comments here and there, but not everywhere - but have enjoyed looking even when I haven't commented.

Scat, how incredibly annoying about the photos! Your recent posts are great though. Your blog is always so rewarding to visit; inspiring and well written.

Violet: you do have nice hands (in your About photo :)). I'm jealous. I have stumpy old-lady hands.

Hope you're enjoying the blogging life so far, DillyTante! That Scandinavian needlecraft book is lovely. I have zero crafting ability, but enjoy pretending I might one day apply myself to learning.

My latest post is nearly a week old but I'll post it here anyway. I'm planning to update again tonight, if DD stays asleep; she is coughing a bit, poor sausage. Keeps losing her dummy and flipping round in her cot and doing the sleepy wail.

Latest post (more of life in 19th-c Sweden) here - this one is about village life in general with a focus on Christmas and Midsummer traditions.

I've been spending ages trawling Flickr for photos of the right part of Sweden to use in my recent posts, and emailing random strangers to ask permission to use their images. I know they'd probably never know if I didn't ask but I hate the idea of doing that; so I have emails from lots of Swedish Flickr users now. Makes me want to visit them - their photos are all amazing.

Here's my latest, lots of cherry plum recipes for the 2011 foraging season

DirtyMartini · 26/07/2011 09:26

OnlyWantsOne · 26/07/2011 09:30

Prof im going to be adding some jam stuff later!!

CheeseandGherkins · 26/07/2011 09:59

Thought I'd share mine Losing Scarlett I've been accepted but don't think I'm showing up yet.

DirtyMartini · 26/07/2011 10:19

Jesus Cheese. I have left you a comment. What a thing to happen.

Welcome to the thread anyway Brew Smile (I am assuming you're just jumping in now, but forgive me if I've overlooked earlier posts here from you)

I have a new one as well here: Malmö to Ellis Island

CheeseandGherkins · 26/07/2011 10:58

DM Yes new to the thread and completely overlooked saying hello Blush

So, hello! Thanks for the welcome and the comment, appreciated. I've found that blogging really helps actually, at least I can vent and not direct it at anyone else but also helps me to sort out my feelings and my head! A lot of it tends to be ramblings at times though!

Going to have a look at yours now :)

ProfYaffle · 26/07/2011 11:58

Thanks all. DM - you don't have to go to the country to pick stuff! Cherry plums and yellow bullace tend to be local authority planted so you often find them around schools/parks/municipal spaces. There's probably loads if you keep your eye open.

OWO - look forward to seeing your jam post!

I've spent the morning making my new plum ketchup recipe which I'll blog soon.
