Anyone?

I will start off with a link to my latest post, a part of the story of Beth (formerly known as Dora) who moved to Geneva to escape a relationship turned sour.

This is NOT me, by the way. I have drawn on my knowledge of Geneva but it is not an autobiograpy :)

Lol! You'll have a long wait!

Ruth
I love your dog powered scooter. Wonder if I could train my dog to do that. What kind of dog do you have?

Ruth
Oh, I see you have a Cavalier King Charles. Our dog is a Cavalier/Maltese. I do like that your comments form gives the option to check the spelling. We must ask MNHQ if we can have that for the forum.

Ah, I see Sylvie has been deleted. Is that because she wasn't a network member? I think I looked at her blog though, might even have commented.

I have re-published one of the posts mentioned above, the "I Accept" one that lots of people liked, with yesterday's date to bring it nearer the top - mainly because the sad one I posted yesterday was getting me down a bit. I don't normally change dates on things; this is a one-off.

Anyway, it means the link above is now broken, so here's the new link to that post for anyone interested, with apologies.

And I've also posted a really quick new one here. Smile

DM
She was advertising on her blog. Every post was linked to an online shop where she sold the item she reviewed.

Off to read your latest posts.

Oh god I see! D'oh. I didn't even notice that. I only read one post as it didn't really seem like my cup of tea.

I have heard of those blogs. Ugh, does not appeal at all. Not really a blog, just a giant advert.

ScatCatShoo · 03/07/2011 20:54

Got my latest post on, a very delicious chicken curry, if I may!

Have been having a few cat adventures, nothing I can post about in the interests of common decency though Wink

I have two more blog posts lined up, but the long weekend (it was Canada Day on Friday) has knocked me off kilter... its always a successful party when you have enough alcohol left over to throw another party :)

MmeLindor. · 03/07/2011 23:25

Sounds like a good party.

My post is about a party too - my first Independence Day Party that I shall be hosting tomorrow.

Here's yesterday's post which I wrote on Saturday but only published on Sunday, it's still come out as Saturday's date though. Does anyone know if there's a way around that on Blogger?

It's all about hoes (the gardening implement, not sex for money) I think you have to be an allotmenteer to understand my excitement

GentleOtter · 04/07/2011 07:15

Ooh, I like that hoe. Envy

Is it is much easier on the back than a Dutch hoe or grubber?

ProfYaffle · 04/07/2011 07:35

I can't tell you how pleased I am that someone else is interested in hoes!

I've never used a dutch hoe but the wheel hoe is certainly much easier and faster than a hand held hoe. I'm thinking it'll be useful for turning the plot over at the end/beginning of the season too because it has really wide attachment (about 50cm?) as well as a tiller.

Love your blog btw GO.

Would anyone like to come over with their hoe and do a bit of weeding here? I really should, but cba. I have a mess mediterranean herb garden where the herbs and the weeds are indistinguishable

MmeLindor. · 04/07/2011 07:47

Butterfly
I don't know, but 2 weeks of feverish child doesn't sound like a reaction to MMR. I would bet there is something else going on there. Did the doc look in ears, to check for ear infection? Although the calpol should work if it were that.

Poor little thing, and poor you. You must be exhausted.

MmeLindor. · 04/07/2011 07:48

Oh, and I know why my blog isn't being featured on the Network, it is cause it links to the wrong url - to my old blogger blog instead of the new wordpress. Not sure how I managed that.

GentleOtter · 04/07/2011 07:49

I am ashamed to admit to 'encouraging' some chickens to hoe between plants.
They are non selective.

Working on a guinea pig version.

butterflyexperience · 04/07/2011 08:18

Do you think mmelin?
I took her to a walk in clinic a few days ago and the nurse told me it was due to mmr jab. Nurse checked ears and throat and said ears were slightly red again due to mmr.
I'm nervous, will make docs appointment for her today.
I try not to take them to the doctors to much ad I'm worried that they will think I'm nothing more than a anxious parent and dismiss me.
Baby did sleep a little better last night woke twice but she's still cranky and tired.
Thanks for advice Smile

Tee2072 · 04/07/2011 08:25

Butterfly I am about to ring for my son's 3rd emergency appointment in a week and I could not care less what they think.

In fact I am about to go postal on them as they have been fobbing me off for over a year telling me he has bad luck. Yeah, about 9 ear infections, 6 lung infections and 4 bouts of swollen tonsils between ages 1 and 2 is beyond bad luck. I am going to insist on a Pead referral and not leave until I get one.

Sometimes you have to tell yourself that you are not crazy or overreacting, they are just not listening.

Get your daughter seen.

butterflyexperience · 04/07/2011 08:48

Tee why 3rd in the week? What's gogin on with your little boy?
I agree with you all those infections in the space of a year is not bad luck.

I agree Tee, you know in yourself that somthing is not right and I hate it when they dismiss my concerns.

I actually changed doctors because the GP would dismiss my concerns over my eldests Eczema and other things.

Thanks for not making me feel like a crazy mum!

MmeLindor. · 04/07/2011 08:53

Agree with Tee. I had a fab first paediatrician in Germany; he said that he would rather see a child once too often than once too seldom and miss something. Go and get your wee one seen to.

Butteryfly it all started last Friday week when he was coughing and pulling at his ear. Off to GP, first lot of Antibiotics.

Then he woke up with a fever on the Monday which spiked to 104F and included D&V. Back off to GP on Wednesday when he wasn't getting any better. Nothing in his ears/lungs/throat then bring him back if not better.

Woke up with 101 yesterday and today. Back to GP today, ear is inflamed again, so more Antibs and finally a referral to ENT, which I had to really push for until she counted that this was his 6th lot of antibs since January! So that's pretty much one a month! Shock It will probably take 8 - 12 weeks to come through but at least it's out there!

And, to keep with the topic of the thread My latest about me and my son and playing!

DirtyMartini · 04/07/2011 15:39

Hurah for napping baby Butterfly, long may it last. Am posting in haste, will read all new posts later and catch up - but just opportunistically uploaded this as both my dc miraculously napped at the same time.

"The house had a thatched roof which blew off occasionally"

Now: can I make myself a cup of tea before dd wakes up and cries?

DirtyMartini · 04/07/2011 15:40

aargh at typos - I can spell "hurrah"
