as to the identity of Liz Jones mystery rock star lover? Apologies if I am repeating a thread but just read today's 'wingefest' and can't believe its anything other than a work of fiction.

I think it is all made up. She never mentioned the face lift in her diary, so how did she write the diary if she could not open her eyes for a week? Plus she says she was unable to talk as well. How did she manage to get away from the RS for a week or so without him not being in contact with her or her with him? As she writes her dairy on a weekly basis we have to presume she has written a week in advance , but she would still have to have missed a week when she was out of action so to speak. There as been no gap in dairy as each week she talks about him so how did she do this if she was in hospital and unable to communicate? She is having a laugh I bet but at least it is keeping us all guessing. I am married to a jounalist so I know she will have had the face lift as a perk of her job and the rest is just a fairy tale each week to keep the readers glued. She seems to be succeeding.

Its a least a month behind though as the xmas diary appears around early Feb, and she uses wnaky stuff about the animals as a filler sometimes.

Im sure it was a perk of the job. I think its very sad that at 52 you feel the need for a facelift. I wouldve done it on the quiet. Mind you Jim looks like hes had a couple of tweaks. Chrissie would NEVER.

If you Google Jim kerr you see he lives in Taorminia Sicily. He runs a hotel called The villa Angela. LJ has never mention Sicily as far as I remember.

True, we are fairly sure its not Plant because he is seeing someone else and has been on a US tour but she could have led us into thinking its Kerr. Dangerous game to play though as if its not him and he gets wind of it he may not be thrilled. I think it probably is him but with lots of the details changed or its someone shit everyone has forgotten about.

In fact, after mentioning several times that the hotel was in the south of France, she slipped and said it was in Italy. Plus he doesn't live there - that's just where the hotel is, which is now run by his (ex?) girlfriend. He's mentioned being on tour and not being able to get a room there recently because it was book solid: if he lived there, that wouldn't be the case.

All the carefully placed clues point to it being Kerr - on tour this summer, pregnant daughter, the 80s clothes and so on - but she's playing it like a hormonal schoolgirl, which is why a lot of people think it's a huge wind-up.

This is SO frustrating. We have just got back from a cruise and we visited Taormina from Messina. It's only a small place so I could easily have found the hotel, asked the name of the owner and if he is ever there with a 50 something woman with long black hair. She is quite easy to describe, boith physically and in terms of her food requirements. I think she is vegan?

Yes it was lovely Katkitya. A medieval town up high with fab views. Lots of smart shops too which I resisted! Cruise was brilliant too despite feeling (mistakenly) sure I would be the youngest on board!
Isn't anyone here going on holiday this Summer to N. Devon? SURELY someone in her village, or in Dulverton would have seen them together and would be willing to pass on some nuggets of info.
Yes I am sure now it is JK. It really all fits, but it would have been nice to have had it confirmed. Wonder what he thinks of her facelift?

I went on a cruise with my girlfriends last year and I really enjoyed it. I would do it again.

His ex was so natural and into her animal rights and, you have to admit, so is our Liz. Except shes not natural when it comes to her vanity is she Im not sure what he will think of it.

Like I said weeks ago, I bet she hardly ever sees him. I bet its just the odd date and the reason she goes away with him is because she is freelance so can jump when he rings her.

Once a rs always a rs Im afraid. Mind you, I would hardly call Jim Kerr a RS,hes not exactly Bono.

I am just wondering what those kind, if misguided people who send her money after her whinging a while back about being totally broke,( no money to feed herself or her animals) now feel after reading she has spent £13,000 odd on a face lift? Of course the DM could have funded it in return for various related articles, but there have been other pieces ie the rented flat in London amongst others indicating that she is by no means destitute.

Apparently the RS didn't notice her face lift but said she was beautiful (as reported in her weekly DM column) - has she ever mentioned whether the RS wears glasses? If she just relaxed, got over herself and chilled sometimes, she wouldn't have needed a facelift - a smile would have worked just as well; bet her digestive system's a mess! Now tell us Liz - you have a new (expensive) face, BUT ARE YOU HAPPY YET?!!!

OK! I'm liking Jim Kerr too, but does he have bright blue eyes? Sure she mentioned this. My real guess is Iggy Pop! Watch him with the creepy lookalike puppet in the insurance ad. Salt and pepper hair, blue eyes, horribly skinny. Although which is which I don't know! Maybe she likes the puppet!

Is this internet sniping and gossip..?? The majority of people on here are her fans and admirers, mostly, we want to see her happy, but, sadly, this is not to be by the looks of events. Is she holding her hand up to her new face and laughing at us behind it..?? Has she fooled us completely..?? Happiness does not sit easily on Liz, she is her own worst enemy. No man would be willing to make her part of a couple until she ditches the cat hairs and dog poo, sorry Liz, you have to choose.........

Oh, Liz is laughing at us all right. There are almost 1000 comments on this site alone, never mind all the other sites. I don't have any interest in phsyco-analysing Liz, she probably needs a friend who understands her and good luck with that. I am however enjoying the game so please don't spoil the fun by actually guessing correctly (how will we ever know??). Latest clue, his mention of his favourite venue and leaving tickets for Liz, who "doesn't normally do tents, but will come anyway". Glastonbury? Did anyone see her there? She has wellies remember, and she's used to mucking out. Bad news is Paul Simon was appearing!! Anyone see Jim Kerr?
