You have mentioned struggling financially in the past before this business took off, so how long have you been wealthy? You say all of the children were privately educated, but your oldest would have started school 22 years ago and left 9 years ago - how many years of their school life were you wealthy enough to send them to private?

I was wondering this.

Believing8nSanta · 22/03/2024 08:55

Reading your comments it sounds everything in your life right now it too perfect and rosy so my question is - What is the one thing you don't like about your life that you maybe want to change or improve?

Did anyone else see a message by MN that they’re not convinced by this thread and will be taking it down? The message seems to have now disappeared.

grumpypedestrian · 22/03/2024 10:02

I reported it as not genuine but I guess the powers that be are convinced.

Yes I saw it, came back for the deletion message!

OP must have sent a copy of the annual return.

We never had anything like the take home pay that you and your husband have but we reached our financial goals at 58 retiring early after helping our kids on to the housing ladder and through Uni. Now we live comfortably off £60k per year take home from pensions and investments.

I cannot imagine what we would do with £780k per year but I guess for you everything is upgraded? My question really is does your husband still work because he enjoys running his business or do you still have financial goals to reach? How old are you both?

We have just booked one of our bucket list trips to South Africa in September this year and nice to see that is one of your favourite destinations. Any suggestions on places to visit?

Well done to both of you especially if you are dyslexic and your husband ASD.

Are you happy with your life and would you change anything?

“Our average holiday is between 20-25k depending on how many kids are coming, if we are going skiing over new year it will be more, if we are going to the Caribbean in February it will be about 10k for the week”

OP please please please let me know who your travel agent is! Clearly they have access to special secret rates I can’t get if they’re able to get you a holiday to the Caribbean with business or first class flights for only £10k, even £25k if all 6 of you are going is a miracle

Yes that is suspicious. We have just booked two weeks in South Africa for 2 people for £11k and that is just flying Premium Economy. Business flights were £4k each!!

This^
4 ovens too, although the OP 'only' uses 1 (or is it 2)
I'm absolutely NOT envious of the OP
I find the greed quite sickening and totally unnecessary actually.

I find it a load of bull frankly. I dated a billionaire. His house in Portugal was the most oversized nonsense I'd ever experienced. It was the size of a bloody aircraft hangar. The kitchen and seating are was easily the size of my (not small) house. He had two chefs. And three ovens.

But OP's got four in the kitchen of her 5 bed, because y'know, "aesthetics"

I too, am not envious of OP. My parents huge house has it's own lake ffs. Difference is, I'm not claiming credit for this, and crowing for people to AMA about my large estate because it's technically linked to me via my name written on trust papers. Much like OP's name written in the paperwork of the company her husband allegedly has.

I'm glad someone picked up on this too.

13yrs ago I took just me and DS to Bahamas. He was a child place. We flew business and the week cost us £12k. 13yrs ago. One adult one child. And that was on a superb deal, the same booking outside of the deal was £16k

WillYouPutYourCoatOn · 22/03/2024 13:18

It seems OP has provided enough detail for those not in the know to find it plausible.

But those in the know are spotting the holes fast.

Whether the poster is genuine or not, its hard to believe when her posting history is full of inconsistencies. I had a read last night and there are multiple posts saying they were together for 4 years in 2019, they apparently split last year.

She also says they bailed out staff during covid however in 2020 she posted saying her partner was looking at any grants and would be putting them in savings, so quite a different story.

Her posting history also said she had a £102k mortgage (who on earth would have a mortgage that size earning the money they do, especially if you have investments, anyone with an ounce of sense would clear down debts first)

Whether the children are shared or not changes depending on the posts too. The posting history is all there (or was last night) and its got more holes than swiss cheese. If anyone has boredom/insomnia and wants a read its all there but none of it makes sense with the last few posts.

I do think her partner is a scaffolder with his own business, I dont believe they earn anywhere close to what she says, I do believe she wanted another goady divisive post and has clearly achieved that, same as the last couple.

I would put the OPs supposed £780k salary on the fact she wont come back because the amount of holes are ridiculous, add in the posting history, it is clear this was meant to be goady, as was the last post or two she made (also about wealth and success) and her weighing in on the AMA £500k so she knew exactly how it would go, but I think that was the hope.

What's the point of this thread? All the OP's answers are so wishy washy. It's quite dull.

Why on earth do you feel the need to tell us you're not enjoying a thread? Go find something that interests you then. Posts like this absolutely baffle me. Did you just want to join in the pile on? 🐑

I would agree but I was looking to hire a cottage in the UK for a week for my 60th next year, there will be about 20 of us and it came back as £21000 ! It did have a swimming pool and was on the beach but some prices are just high I guess. Needless to say I wont be going as dont earn anywhere near enough, maybe a weekend at Brighton will be what I end up with :) In contrast I am going to Cyprus all inclusive for a 5 star hotel for 10 days at Easter £1100 all in :)

I was bored so took a look too and you're right. She said 3 years ago they were saving hard to pay off their mortgage. Wouldn't have had to be that hard surely if they'd been earning 780k nett for the last 10-12 years and and the mortgage was only 102k? 3 years ago she was spending 200 quid a week for 6 people on groceries including dog food and all cleaning materials and toiletries. I'd have been guaranteed to have been spending a shed load more than that out of my 65k per month. Especially if I loved entertaining.

I have insomnia and was bored last night so had a read and the more I read, the more it made no sense. But the really odd ones were her partner talking about taking a grant for not being able to work during covid to put in savings, which has now changed to them paying all employees and they never took any help!

The mortgage was odd, surely no one on £780k a year would bother with having a £102k mortgage, especially when earlier she says they have been saving everything in order to try and clear the mortgage down.

Also the relationship length changes, the children shared changes (sometimes some are shared, sometimes they are all hers, sometimes she is a single parent), their relationship seems to have ended at some point, there was a recentish pregnancy (where she was 42 and single at this point).

The posting history just makes it more interesting and more obvious that I think the whole purpose was to be a goady thread.

This could have been interesting, but as usual on MN the b*tches come out.

You say OP wasn't answering questions, but most of them weren't questions, they were thinly veiled attacks.

OP, some of these people attacking you no doubt had everything handed to them on a plate.

Also, it is disgusting to ask someone if they feel guilty for enjoying money they have BOTH earned. If you think her DH earned that money without a huge amount of support from her you don't know what a healthy marriage looks like.

Everyone in this country has a better standard of living and life chances than millions/billions elsewhere in the world - how about you lot picking at her, practice what you preach and give some of your money to those poorer than you? It is exactly the same, there are people who would look at even the most average household here and think we were incredibly fortunate. She has said several times they give to charity but don't broadcast it.

Also, people have asked the same questions of her several times - and picking on her for SPAG? You harridans should be ashamed of yourselves, it seems the snobbery is real on MN.

SHE HAS SAID SEVERAL TIMES SHE HAS DYSLEXIA.

Just this really, well summed up.

I have genuinely been disgusted to read the nastiness from other grown women, what the actual fuck? Why can you not be happy for someone who has clearly worked hard and is proud of their achievements?

You say she hasn’t answered any questions, yet I know more about this woman than I do about some of my friends! I can even tell you how many ovens they have, so just lay off and try to remember to be kind, as we tell our children!!

I have actually shown my DH and DC’s this thread today; number 1 as an example of what you can achieve with some hard work and dedication; well done OP, I am bloody delighted with you and think you’re great, and 2, as an example of how not to behave. The jealousy really is palpable from some of you!

grumpypedestrian · 22/03/2024 20:00

Is it really an attack to ask about wages for their employees and the housing standards of homes they rent out?

Genuine, not offensive questions.

But I don’t believe this thread is genuine despite reporting it.
