Pink39tree · 22/03/2024 03:03

Hi O/P sorry about all the annoying people just trying to poke holes in your story or moaning you haven’t answered when they will only be satisfied if you posted your tax return and your bank statements 😂
I have a few questions:
1.Have you paid off your own house? I know you mentioned your in laws house was paid off but what about your own. Many of these high paying AMAs go on about paying for private school and big holidays all whilst their house is mortgaged to the max. Always confused me why they don’t prioritise paying the house off
2.how come you sent your kids to private school when you work in state school? Would you not agree a child would thrive in whatever school setting they are in as long as they work hard ?
3.Do you think you and your husband have put unrealistic pressure/targets on your children on their equivalent of success, I.E very rare for them to us all have similar earnings growing up. Your daughter who is a midwife will not be able to afford the same lifestyle she had growing up
4.Are you prepared to support your children through adult life? It seems you are still paying for their holidays and when someone mentioned you paying for their houses you said when they finish uni. At what point will you cut off the purse strings
5.Was there hostility between your kids and their cousins growing up due to your kids privilege
6.Do people at work know your income? Do you get judged for it?
7.I know you mentioned your kids got Saturday jobs, but they have had so much privilege growing up. What else did you do to ensure they didn’t grow up spoilt
8.Has there ever been a “uh-oh” moment where one of your kids acted spoilt and you blamed yourself because of the lifestyle they lead
9.has your husband (and family obviously ) Considered moving abroad to pay less tax?
10.Your job I presume it quite stressful with ofsted etc, why do you still do it?
11.Are all 4 kids getting equal inheritance even if the first one is not your husbands son?
I have loads more but shall not bore you anymore 😁

BlondeAussie · 22/03/2024 03:11

Is the purpose of this post to inspire a slow drip feed so you can gradually self-congratulate?

Poppasocks · 22/03/2024 03:14

What brand of bog roll do you use?!

Jk8 · 22/03/2024 03:18

Teenangels · 21/03/2024 20:22

Where have I been coy?

How do you know I have not panicked about feeding my kids, your perception is quite telling.

So basically (1) it's not take home pay (= profits) & (2) you haven't earned it long enough to make a proper dent in your actual wealth + (3) it's a luck & 'we work really hard' based business that someone with no qualifications can do. (4) you can't say exactly what it is (5) too busy to awnser every or anybody's question when its originally posted & don't realise how these sort of things work ??
---‐

So im sure your a nice enough person who would never boast like this in real life & enjoys their job & has some (relatively new) trappings of success but the best thing to come out of this thread is @MrsPeannut'S comment about the woman on £500,000 (who turned out to be a stay at home mum with a partner who earnt "up to £500,000 taking into account more then double your income kind of bonus's" 😂

Rainynight09 · 21/03/2024 20:10

Haha yes it’s usually the man who earns the money and she gets to live off it until he trades her in for a younger model!

Edited

This comment says far much more about you than the OP.

Josette77 · 22/03/2024 03:34

Do you get paid as a director for the company?
And if so how much?

daisychain01 · 22/03/2024 03:58

MrsPeannut · 21/03/2024 20:06

The OP who did an AMA about £500k must be fuming!

It's the same OP - they've changed to part time and their employer gave them a pay increase, because they're worth it.

Lwrenn · 22/03/2024 04:19

I got to page 10 and was actually rooting for you OP. I'm a broke working class lass, also with dyslexia and like it when people do well.
The dream for me and my 4 kids is also 2 dishwashers and buy mutti tomatoes even if they're not on offer. So you could have been an inspiration to me.

But then you drew a line of chips with gravy and I have to now draw my own and respectfully, bow out.

Chips and gravy is a delicacy, it's a humble dish of beauty and miraculous taste.

As someone who has a household income of just over 30k (want me to do an ama anyone? 😁) I'm always invested and have many questions. But the disrespect to chips and gravy was too far op.

Too. Bloody. Far.

All that money and you can't buy a sophisticated palate, can you?

flounces

My husband saw that people needed a professional that was going to be different in an industry full of chancers.

In his business once you have made an outlay you do not need to keep replacing the equipment as they can be reused making more profits.

You have to be willing for hard work and take risks, which can be very costly.

I absolutely can believe this. I hired a guy to clean my sofa for me - he had been made redundant and used the money to buy a professional upholstery cleaner thinking he could make a bit of money while he looked for work. He doesn’t need to advertise because word of mouth on mum Facebook groups drives him enough work and his is bringing in about 8K a month net and is at the stage where he is turning down bookings so is considering hiring an extra head. I could see how with luck and opportunity he xould expand his businezz

Roundandback · 22/03/2024 04:44

Why a trailer and not a horsebox? I ask because the vast majority of people I know with trailers only have them because they can't afford a box!

Lampzade · 22/03/2024 05:14

CrystalSea · 21/03/2024 20:06

why do you think anyone is interested?

They are.

BlondeAussie · 22/03/2024 05:26

takemeawayagain · 21/03/2024 20:18

Why won't you say what your job is? This thread seems pointless if you won't answer what everyone wants to know.

Then the poster couldn't enjoy a game of "20 questions"

Dazedandconfusedma · 22/03/2024 05:33

How ludicrous to do an AMA and then give ridiculously vague answers. “I got a degree while studying” - fascinating.

Epidote · 22/03/2024 05:51

First, congratulations for your hard work and been able to create a successful business.
Second there is any luxurious expense in your daily life like proper thousand every month in luxurious stuff and if so what is? Like I'm all about Hermes handbags and got 15 and thing like that. I would love to hear it.

Third, which is the threshold income that make your life feel wealthy, has it at100 thousand, 200 thousand which number was for you?

Fourth, really, you don't put gravy in your chips? that is definitely not right.

grumpypedestrian · 22/03/2024 05:52

Frangipanyoul8r · 21/03/2024 22:49

It’s very hard to make money in a trade. Has your husband exploited people along the way to make his money? If so, who?

I’ve asked several times about wages for employees but these questions are ‘rude’ and unanswered. So yes, there’s exploitation of others happening.

Howbizarre22 · 22/03/2024 05:58

Humble brag? 🤣🤣🤣

I just hope your personality & soul are as rich as you like to tell people you are ☺️

Sunshineofyourlove · 22/03/2024 06:13

Do you work in a state school? If so, do you get any grief from your colleagues about sending your kids to private school?

Are you upset that some people can't afford to go to the dentist, can't feed their families, can't go on holiday, buy everything second hand so they can have furniture, clothes? Do you not feel that you should share your wealth? Do you for example contribute to a food bank?

I think you should be asking the government those questions, not randoms on the internet

"I have 3 cars and my husband 2 and a work van.
The children have a car each."

"My husband has a 4x4 and a work van."

Is your husband a scaffolder?

@Digimoor AFucking Saint I think.
