Hey! Bored and thought this could be fun. As I've said above I smoke cannabis daily, Have done for years. Only in the evening. I'm a mum and my DH does too. If anyone has any questions ask away :-)

Social services?! Haha. Where I live they would have to investigate every other household!

Should be legalised like in huge parts of the world, any issues with it stem from the illegality.

My ex is a what I would class as a heavy weed smoker, we had 50/50 residency when our child was younger, he looked after our child brilliantly on his days, absolutely no concerns from me or any nursery or school etc.

I know a lot of people who smoke weed, most of them work, and none of them, absolutely none, are anything like this 'reefer madness' stereotype abound on Mumsnet!

@Strugglingtodomybest haha so many comments saying I must stink if it! I understand you get groups of lads walking around and the stench that comes from them can be overwhelming but the likelihood is they have a bag of weed in their pockets or have just smoked. If I smoke at say 9.30pm, come back inside, shower & wear fresh clothes I can guarantee I do not smell. I probably do right after smoking though.

As for my kids where people are getting it from that they would smell...they are never even around it.

@takecareteddybear So you won't smoke it when other children are sleeping over but you will around your own? Why the difference? Also, you wouldn't realise it was impacting your parenting as it doesn't with so many other drug users.

Me too. I find it really strange, but then I guess it depends on where you live, what social circles you move in etc.

Glad the CBD is helping, we give it to our cat for seizures and it works really well.

Eating cannabis would be healthier than smoking, though tricky to get the dose right to start.
You can buy it online, if you don't mind using bitcoin and the dark Web (there's even reviews, like on Amazon). However, you wouldn't know the provenance (and involvement of exploitation etc). I get solid (modern weed stinks and makes me anxious/too high though the stuff my Dad grows is fine in small amounts) from an old friend of my parents who imports it directly himself from contacts abroad (so as fair trade/safe as possible and avoids County lines concerns).

You could grow some (buy seeds online) and make a butter from it then use it in cooking. That way no concerns regarding supply lines and you could pick strains that aren't insanely strong. Different mixes of sativa and indica have different effects.

Really should be legal, IMO, but I don't think the super strong, smelly weed should necessarily be legal. Hash or old-style grass in small amounts is a completely different drug to the severely genetically modified strains of weed around now.

If you can stop it at any time then why continue knowing how bad it is for your health?

If it’s the buzz you get from it there are much healthier ways to do it than smoking.

I am an ex smoker but I tried to quit several times before I actually succeeded because I was addicted but you are not.

Because I enjoy it? I could ask anyone who drinks why they don't give up knowing it's bad for their health.

I completely disagree.

Smoking is awful for your health and has absolutely no benefits.

Whereas alcohol in small quantities does have benefits.

They say a glass of red wine or pint of Guinness a day does wonders for your health.

Whereas as inhaling any product whether its tobacco, weed or flour if you’re a baker everyday can impact your health massively.

In the UK people binge alcohol too much which is why it’s known to be more dangerous than cannabis but this is not the same in other countries who drink more responsibly.

So you’re bored and thought posting this would be fun. The weed must be affecting your imagination/idea of fun.

Yes DH has as he uses it for pain relief from an old injury he sustained. Works amazingly for him and he took tramadol, codeine etc for years which he doesn't need to take anymore he's mentioned it to the gp a while ago who said if it's working for him then go ahead.

Absolute waste of money and time.

Anyone who relies on some smelly product for their daily happiness and helps prop-up criminal activity in the process is not someone I want to have anything to do with.

I guess why do you do it every day? I know it can be beneficial at times but it’s obviously not healthy and can cause lung cancer amongst other issues.

I have to put up with it . Its awful. Its like they go onto their garden to smoke it because they don't want it in their house . But the happy for it to go in other people's homes. Whole house ends up stinking
