Hey! Bored and thought this could be fun. As I've said above I smoke cannabis daily, Have done for years. Only in the evening. I'm a mum and my DH does too. If anyone has any questions ask away :-)

I don't drink or smoke (used to but I can't do it responsibly so don't do it at all) but it always makes me laugh how judgmental people are towards those who some weed. I have seen a lot of people fuck their lives up and be shit parents and it's 9/10 times ALWAYS down to alcohol. If you smoke it doesn't mean you smell all the time either. I can think of a lot of reasons why someone is a shit parent and smoking weed isn't one of them. Are you people saying that every Rastafarian mother who smokes weed is a shit parent??

What would you say to the parents of a teenager stabbed to death as a result of the drugs trade? A trade you support by taking illegal drugs.

Do you have any get up and go? The only 2 people I know who smoke weed every day are very lethargic. They don't work or do much with their lives.
I'm not anti-weed. I've smoked it many times. I just wouldn't want it to be a daily habit.

I know that's a common perception and I know quite a few weed smokers who do just sit around, letting life pass them by with little get up and go. For me personally it has no affect on my energy levels I'm usually the first up and start my day by working out (I know this doesn't counteract the fact I'm doing something that's not great for my body) if it did affect me in that way I would stop.

There is some odd psychology on Mumsnet sometimes. For those on the more small-minded "conservative" wing who like to use shame as a tool of control, if you're not ashamed of what they think you should be ashamed of, the only alternative is that you're bragging and flaunting!

@Thesharkradar There may be different rules if it's on prescription and for medicinal use but I'm talking your recreational use that isn't monitored by an healthcare professional. It is still illegal here for that purpose.

@LauraNicolaides thank you! I really wasn't bragging or trying to wind anyone up as was said above. I'm answering some questions about something I do, that clearly from all the questions people have an interest in. I'm not perfect but I have chuckled at some of the responses here! You'd think I was saying I lock my kids in the basement all day to take drugs by some peoples reactions.

If abiding by the law makes me 'holier than though' then so be it 🤷🏻‍♀️.

There are lots of health benefits and you don't need to smoke it with tobacco, I don't, it, as I have said decreased seazures, I sleep better I slso not keen on the green but solid eaten or smoked through a pipe is fine
I have a friend with MS and it really helps them and my beautiful cousin smoked it when her cancer hurt so much, she had never used it b4, unfortunately her breast cancer took her away long before her time.

all you need to do is tell them you have problems sleeping and you can easily score, it might be sold as medical use but it's indistinguishable from recreational use, you're still getting high and enjoying it!

Read your response comments....just so you know, everyone who smokes weed stinks of it. It makes yoyr clothes stink, hair and house because it's on your clothes. You can't smell it as you're so used to it but believe me, anyone who doesn't smoke it can smell it for meters. As for the house....I'm detached and the smell from my ex neighbours smoking weed would go through my vents ajd I knew when they were out smoking even without looking outside.
Not nice for yoyr kids to grow up around cause even if you don't smoke in the house, you will stink of it and for people like me, really makes me feel like I'm about to vomit.

My friend's house, car and clothes smell very very badly of cats. She's with the cats everyday. I don't think anyone has ever said that she smells badly of cats, because, manners. Neverless, she does. She's a highflying business type with a cat habit and though she may be completely nose blind to it, everyone else is not, they're just too polite to comment. That's what it's like being around habitual weed smokers. They smell. I'm sorry. it's just true. You can say you don't but you're so accustomed to the smell that's not a question for you to answer.

I'm in actual awe of all these 'reefer madness' kind of comments! Bloody hell, did anyone ever live a little in their younger days! I'd hazard that the majority of these commenters with the 'how very dare you etc etc' actually know more people than they'd ever imagine who likely do the same as you of an evening!

The sooner its legalised, I mean the UK grows and exports enough, the better! It has many beneficial properties, and blimey these people may even be shocked that every animal plant and human on earth has an endocannabinoid system which is under studied, but we do know that despite what nixon and Co had everyone believe all those years ago, was nothing other than horse manure really... as other countries have found to be the case.

Time to get with the times.

You've already said that an 8th is £30-50, how long does that last? (Genuinely clueless!)
I ask because you've likened it to drinking, and I was comparing costs. You said that you get nice stuff? I guess a nice bottle of wine might be around a tenner? A bottle a night would be 70 a week. Roughly 280 a month.
How does weed work out in comparison?
