I had a breast reduction two weeks ago. I’ve gone from a 34GG/H to a 34D.

Crack on with any questions!

ps .. and yes what @Bigtitsbetty said, once you've decided it's actually the waiting that's the hardest ....

Madagascary · 30/04/2023 13:23

I would agree with everybody else that it’s not the size really it’s the fact that they don’t hang down and you can walk around in pyjamas without having to worry about a bra for me. That is the biggest thing! So you have the pertness is more important than the size

Singletrackmind · 30/04/2023 10:58

Wow @HoeAbout that's very impressive weight loss indeed. I feel you, I'm a size 10- 12 depending, but my boobs are 32 F/G and the weight means they are also pretty saggy. I would quite happily be an A cup but you do have to be realistic! Uplifted and smaller is what I'm going for/ hoping for.

It's hard isn't it!

I have to have a bra on 24/7, including when sleeping. Luckily I don't get any back pain or anything like that though.

Uplifted and smaller sounds like a perfect goal!!

Singletrackmind · 03/05/2023 13:25

Ladies @Bigtitsbetty @Madagascary @anonymouse talk to me about stitching, healing and scars please.
I had a proper wobbly last night about stuff so grateful for experiences. Did you look early doors/ how is it now? I’ve scared myself looking at a few things online where it looks like boobs have been sewn together by a blind person … gah.

Bigtitsbetty · 03/05/2023 16:14

@Singletrackmind It took me ages to look properly but they were taped for two weeks. I wouldn’t let my husband see until all the scabs had gone.

I had anchor incisions and after 7+ months they’re now pale pink. Admittedly I was very poor with any gel/cream to help healing. Obviously I’d prefer not to have the scars but they’re better than having massive boobs.

If you scroll back down my threads, I found I couldn’t look at myself for about a week. I think it was the shock at the change to my silhouette, but also nervous about the stitches, but my God they change so quickly.

Madagascary · 03/05/2023 17:17

I think you need to be realistic, and accept there will be scars, but also consider how many people will be looking at them.

Also the pleasure in having had the procedure outweighs any issues about scoring by 2,000,000%.

And unless you plan to be a topless model I can’t really see the issue.

For me having had a skin excision with some liposuction under my arm, that scar is slightly worse there, but that’s very unusual. Not many people have that at the same time!

Singletrackmind · 03/05/2023 20:57

Thanks for the reassurance! I think on really unhappy boob days I’m very clear about the decision but I’m guessing it’s natural to feel apprehension & I think I’ll be asking lots more questions about some of the detail at the next/ pre-op consult.

Madagascary · 03/05/2023 21:29

Totally. Keep asking 😍

Bigtitsbetty · 03/05/2023 21:31

@Singletrackmind ask your surgeon for some photos. I did google but there don’t seem to be any real photos of the incisions.

Thanks girls will do! 🙏🏻

anonymouse · 12/05/2023 21:16

@Singletrackmind I was told I was a higher risk of keloid scarring so my expectations of scarring were low. I'm amazed at how well the scars are doing. Can't see the u anchor unless I stretch up and the vertical is smooth and I reckon won't be visible by next year. I'm 5 months in from surgery. I did use kelocote initially and then I switched to neals yard mother's balm pretty soon after. I don't put anything on them now.

Singletrackmind · 13/05/2023 07:47

@anonymouse that’s sounds really positive, thanks for letting me know. I think I realised that my main wobble was about the initial/ post surgery ‘wounds’ and I’m guessing it’s best to just not look!! I’m still pretty nervous about it all, but also very excited at the prospect of the heft being gone.

Madagascary · 13/05/2023 08:28

Yes, but my wounds were all dressed with surgical tape. And I wouldn’t say you’re in pain, but it’s definitely stinging. I remember sitting up in bed was a bit sore, but the memory fades so fast, more rapidly than labour.!!

anonymouse · 13/05/2023 08:42

They're taped up for 10ish days so you won't actually the wounds. The incisions will just be slightly raised when the tape bra comes off but not horrendous looking. I think the biggest shock is seeing your new boobs as they're yet to settle and quite swollen. I remember thinking woah these are still way too big.

Yes I agree, and if you scroll back down the thread, I couldn’t look at my boobs for awhile not because of the wounds, just because I thought they were too small! They’re not.😂

My sons still say they have to double take when they come home because of my new shape

Madagascary · 13/05/2023 13:39

Lads, another exciting moment!!

I have just got delivery of a UNIQLO vest top with a built-in bra and oh my God I can wear it and I don’t look like a 10 ton Tessie

Singletrackmind · 15/05/2023 13:00

@Madagascary .. built in bras though… what a win to be able to wear them 😀. The amount of times I’ve picked something up only to discover the curse of the built in bra that’s never going to accommodate me 😂

Madagascary · 15/05/2023 20:59

I KNOW!! Honestly getting my summer stuff out of the loft has been a high.

Martinisarebetterdirty · 16/05/2023 08:23

I saw my surgeon yesterday for the first consultation. I’m slightly different to everyone else as I had breast cancer and the main driver, apart from my massive boobs always being in the way, is to even them up as they are very very lopsided. I now have to decide if I just want the “good” one doing or both. I obviously want both but there may be more complications with the one that’s had radiotherapy and it might not heal as well. Hard decisions!

Madagascary · 16/05/2023 13:48

Oh good luck @Martinisarebetterdirty I had one that was significantly larger than the other, although had not noticed until I saw in the surgery photos.

But not like you through cancer.

Definitely have both done and perked up.

Madagascary · 16/05/2023 13:48

(If you can obv. Sorry. Pressed send too soon)

Martinisarebetterdirty · 16/05/2023 14:46

I’m thinking that @Madagascary , I’ve found a great surgeon who specialises in post cancer reconstruction but the cost is eye watering, much much more than the costs you see advertised and talked about for a reduction and uplift. I just need to ponder a bit and take the plunge!
Also wanted so say that this thread has been amazing, I have loved hearing about your positive journey (and yours @Bigtitsbetty ), you’ve been inspirational!

Bigtitsbetty · 16/05/2023 14:58

@Martinisarebetterdirty thank you. I am glad that your recovery is going well enough for you to be in the position to be making decisions about the cosmetic side. Is there no scope for NHS to fund the surgery? My aunt had hers done on NHS but this was a few years ago.

I agree that martinis should be very dirty.
