I had a breast reduction two weeks ago. I’ve gone from a 34GG/H to a 34D.

Crack on with any questions!

Ah itching .. yes that was last week ...! Kinda round the sides, not on the incisions or anything. Interesting that you are already moisturising @Martinisarebetterdirty I have tapes on until the 4 week check at the end of the month ... and then I guess we'll see.

So spent from work the last 2 days .. have taken a day off today to recover .. so I can cope with Thurs/ Fri as feeling really swollen and sore by the end of the day. Definitely a bit emotionally up and down. I know my boobs are smaller and SO much higher ... but I look down and my brain is still saying 'big boobs'. So weird.

Happy beach day @Madagascary ... swimwear though ... maybe I'll own some next year!

Martinisarebetterdirty · 16/08/2023 09:50

Yes work is tough, I’m wfh until tomorrow and had naps at lunchtime. The sunburn pain is definitely worse this week. Hope you have a lovely recovery day today @Singletrackmind . Sorry you are up and down, remember they can take months to settle, I’m sure both @Bigtitsbetty and @Madagascary said this too.
I agree it’s odd I’m moisturising already, I double checked and sent a lot of photos and was told to get on with it 😂, presumably different stitches or something.

Madagascary · 16/08/2023 09:59

Good idea to keep putting on moisturiser. I had a stitch just under my cup so to speak and then one day at suddenly disappeared.

This thread is so interesting because it makes you remember how much you forgotten! And be reassured all this will want to seem distant memory to you.

Madagascary · 16/08/2023 10:04

SWIM. WEAR KLAXON
When I sometimes think about how much it cost, I deduct the amount I would have paid years ago to be able to wear a top like this

Singletrackmind · 16/08/2023 10:24

Aw ladies you are great 😀and swimwear inspiration ... so much to look forward to!!! Hope everyone is ok ... I know, it takes time, must be patient 🤓

Heartfullofcheese · 16/08/2023 10:49

I hope your boobs have a lovely day @Madagascary - they do look fabulous.
Yes the itching is sides and in between. I took a Piriteze earlier to help.@Singletrackmind I get the up and down- ness- I’m a bit emotional for some reason. I guess there’s a lot of feelings about body image etc to deal with now, for one thing. Also - it’s a big op and a long physical recovery so it messes with your head a bit I think.

Madagascary · 16/08/2023 15:51

Oh I’m sorry you’re feeling low. But honestly you will look back at this in about a month and think it really wasn’t bad at all. I promise

MorrisZapp · 16/08/2023 16:50

Holy heck! That bikini top is amazing! Eyes on the prize, ladies 😍

Singletrackmind · 16/08/2023 18:36

@Madagascary .. I really hope so! Two weeks today PO for me (and @Martinisarebetterdirty😀 ) and I've braved another tape change .. it does get easier. Would be interesting to know people's experience of the swelling going down. I know it takes time but you can't help but fret.

I did, however, just take a pic while I was doing it and put it next to my pre-op/ marked up one. There's a massive difference .. inches of my torso have been uncovered ..it's so easy to forget...!

Martinisarebetterdirty · 16/08/2023 07:35

Is the itching on the incisions @Heartfullofcheese ? I haven’t had that yet, but I know my guy does things differently so hoping to bypass it as I still have the sunburn pain, I’m now dressing free and moisturising twice a day (not silicone yet, that’s after 4 weeks so just a generic one). Have to say finding moisturising the incisions a bit grim and the bit of stitch poking out of my nipple isn’t so nice either, I think you had the same @user80 ?
Have a wonderful beach day @Madagascary - I think swimwear is the thing I am most excited about!

Oh god the itch. I had it really bad - a total allergic reaction to the incision site. I have a cracking picture but it's a bit horrific and obviously quite clearly a photo of my nakkid chest. I was taking loratadine but ended up taking a second in the evening as one a day just didn't cut it. I phoned my surgeon and he said that was ok. That was a very difficult week - over 5 years ago now!

Madagascary · 16/08/2023 21:26

ONLY TWO WEEKS? give yourself a break!!

Madagascary · 16/08/2023 21:26

Welcome @Poshjock

I don’t remember the swelling really bothering me, I was just so pleased to remove 2 1/2 kg of tit

😂… I know!

Heartfullofcheese · 17/08/2023 13:01

Generally starting to feel like myself again. Piriteze really helps the itching for anyone else suffering.
The bikini pics are very encouraging and we are considering an October holiday so I have an excuse to buy new swimwear.
Started a bit of school work too so that’s encouraging (was getting worried I’d still be in a blank stupor come September ha ha).
Hope everyone is well!

Madagascary · 17/08/2023 14:51

Oh that’s good, the itching does go on for awhile from what I can remember.

Be careful buying swimwear, maybe look at in the sales because remember things will change until spring next year for you

Bigtitsbetty · 17/08/2023 15:17

That video is great. I wished they’d used a scalpel rather than a carving knife though. It helps to understand why my moles are in different places.

I’d forgotten about the itch. It’s just the skin healing but it doesn’t make it anymore bearable!

I’m glad everyone is doing well. We are going to need another thread soon. I didn’t expect that when I started it.

Hello ladies. Yes I had some stitches that didn’t dissolve and we’re poking out @Martinisarebetterdirty - one actually just fell out the other day. Weird and gross.

My itching was such a weird and awful sensation that I didn’t realise it was itching from the healing. It was like a horrendous over-sensitivity all over my entire boobs, I couldn’t bear anything touching them. By evening I had to sit completely still or I’d cry. Completely disappeared after a week or two thank god!

I totally get the looking down and thinking/seeing big boobs thing. I have not adjusted mentally at all yet, not helped by poor body image atm because of bloating and weight gain. But also we’ve known ourselves as big boobed humans for so long - that might have changed physically but it takes the brain a while to catch up! For me at least.

I keep trying on bras but can’t find anything comfortable except bralettes (!!!!) and those first bra type bras 😳 Not going to buy any more for a while…

Madagascary · 17/08/2023 19:48

You’re all tremendous. I’m very fond of this thread.

100% what @Martinisarebetterdirty said a total lifeline ❤️ ….@user80 the itchiness though 😂… only my right boob/ nipple today but that is being outdone by the crazy right shoulder blade aching no matter how I sit … must be cause I’m doing something weird with my posture 🤷🏼‍♀️
@Bigtitsbetty … mole position is another weird thing! I had two on my boobs that have completely gone from the big hack 😬and two on my torso that never saw the light of day until now 😀
@Heartfullofcheese good to hear you are doing well

Heartfullofcheese · 17/08/2023 21:41

Another one adding to the “thank goodness for this thread”- it’s been such a help 😀

Martinisarebetterdirty · 20/08/2023 08:18

I know we’ve just had a love in, but again this thread is so great. I’ve been quite sore since going back to work and it was so helpful to read back and see that others were sore at this stage too. How are you feeling @Singletrackmind , @Heartfullofcheese and @user80 ?
Apart from the soreness (still bad sunburn feeling), my left nipple has no feeling at all (expected as the radiotherapy was that side) and my right nipple is over sensitive (not playing with them 😂 this is when I put the moisturiser on).

Madagascary · 20/08/2023 08:24

@Martinisarebetterdirty how far in are you? I’ve lost track. What’s sore when?

in other news- thread almost full and taking ages to load. We need to find a good clear name for the next one and leave space to signpost on here.
