I hate my breasts

Bathmatts · 15/05/2023 23:20

34GG.
People comment - as if its a compliment.
I feel self conscious.
Luckily my partner makes me feel sexy AF so I'm not so self loathing when I'm with him.
How do I love my body and be thankful for having breasts when shirts don't fucking button up?

Why do you need to feel thankful for having breasts? They’re just breasts. Bizarre.

Mumof1andacat · 15/05/2023 23:36

Don't wear shirts.

Go up a size so shirts fit?

Yes absolutely that's what I meant (history of breast cancer in family, I should have been clearer) thank you for considering what I might have meant 💐

But then they don't fit anywhere else.
Shirts are possibly a red herring, it's more about hating how clothes make me feel

Would you consider breast reduction surgery?

Healthy, u missed the word healthy- maybe don't be so quick to assume the worst of people and be a bit softer in response to someone trying to express their discomfort. Or not, you can always scroll on

Not that it matters but your response compounded how shit I feel. Thanks for that.

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 15/05/2023 23:45

I don't know how you can be thankful. I had 30 years of hating Mine and finally got a reduction. Best thing ever. I'm
A 36d now and am comfortable back pain gone and I can fit clothes. Bras no
Longer dig in and a bralet is so comfy. I wish I'd done it sooner

MorrisZapp · 15/05/2023 23:46

Me too only even DP isn't that impressed these days. Garbage innit. Makes you look way heavier than you are, bras are a nightmare and if you try to stand up straight people whisk their husbands away and fire you evils.

It gets worse after menopause. Yay.

Thedogscollar · 15/05/2023 23:43

I have, but I'd rather find a why to like my natural self - or at least care less about other peoples opinions 😣

Thank you - totally how I feel and completely dreading menopause- god I wish I didn't care so much 😢

I felt like that i my 20s which is a pity given they were way better then!

I buy really good bras which helps. Get measured regularly etc.

I don't wear shirts at all - there's only one in my wardrobe from when bravissimo did clothes which is ages ago & I rarely bother with it.

No high neck tops which make them look better, no boxy jackets, sleeve length is either long, capped or 3/4 length as a t-shirt style sleeve will draw attention to them as it cuts at the wrong place . No tops with pockets. No prints or patterns in top. Never wear stripes etc.

A small V than deep V neck is most flattering.

They are a PITA but dressing to flatter them really helps.

Orders76 · 15/05/2023 23:57

Personally I'd have the surgery as young as possible. Think of the years of no back strain, no sleep apnea and breathing issues , and that's before clothes and cosmetics.
Huge breasts can be very uncomfortable.

Why? Is it a place for people to acceptably be mean to others?

AngryBirdsNoMore · 15/05/2023 23:59

36G here so similar. And I expect they will balloon further after I give birth. That’s my pre-pregnancy size: I am 8 months pregnant and no idea what size I am now my bras dig in painfully, but my experience last time was that they got MUCH big when I was breast feeding. Very embarrassing.

I’ve taken a long time to work out how to dress for my boobs. Button up shirts are generally out, sadly - but I do wear button up shirt dresses in a size up and cinched at the waist, and occasionally button up shirts in a size up with pencil skirts and a nice belt to pull them in. I tend to go for silky buttonless shirts instead as I don’t worry about the buttons pulling on the front.

Dresses with a defined waist are your friend. I agree with PP that big boobs make you look heavier. I find fit and flare type dresses are good for this - especially ones that have a higher neckline. Feels less revealing and embarrassing and people don’t stare as much, but I still feel feminine. Sweetheart necklines will enhance; round or v neck will look more professional / low key.

It can take ages to find a bra make that works for you and makes your boobs look reasonable under your clothes. Yes they’re blood expensive, I hate paying £50 for an everyday bra. For me, I love Gossard - the superboost lace plunge in padded bras are my daily go to. Panache made me look weird and wide, I found Freya dug in, but others love those names. If you want to avoid stares, avoid balcony and balconette styles, as they’ll make you look like you’re going to take someone’s eye out. So I save those for special occasions and go for a plunge or deep plunge with no padding.

Im sorry OP. It does suck. As does the back ache, the sagging, the wrinkling… solidarity!

AngryBirdsNoMore · 15/05/2023 23:59

Gosh that’s a lot of typos, sorry

AngryBirdsNoMore · 16/05/2023 00:00

*superboost lace plunge unpadded bra, fhat should say. Not very impressed with the padded ones.

Well said @Bathmatts
Those first couple of replies were just inane. It was obvious what you meant.
I know what you mean, so sympathy. I’m used to people talking to my tits. It’s very tedious.
