Apparently a woman spent 8 hours in a cell/being interviewed by the police for a "transphobic" Tweet along the lines of TWAW. Can't bring myself to buy the Mail tomorrow to check the details, but it may be taken up by other papers.

She's on here. Glad the media are airing it. It's a shocking human rights abuse.

The more daylight this ridiculous case gets, the better. The police aren't going to come out of this well.

Gosh I'm sorry I didn't know she was on here. Mega-sympathy and support to you! How appalling. Good it's featuring in a paper with widespread readership and available online for free

What is TWAW?

TWAW = Transwomen Are Not Women

If it's who I'm thinking I hope she gets her computer and phone back ASAP.

I don't know who you are talking about but would be interested in reading the article. This is getting so out of hand. Especially when you hear of so many DV women being ignored when they ask for police assistance.

So glad this is being picked up by the media - it really is an appalling story.

Nobody except the most ardent TRA/woman-hater could agree that this woman should have thrown in a cell for 8 hours without sanitary products.

She was (I understand) arrested in front of her children too?

Oh I'm so glad this is getting exposure. It was an absolute bloody disgrace.

Twitter thread. A serial vexatious litigant. Has kiwi farms covered the golf playing person yet?

Well well. Look who is retweeting an unpopular view.

I predict this is not going to go well for Hayden. The paper have named them over the woman and glinner.

The public will be against it.

I hope you’re right Datun - this is actually terrifying. I can’t believe they sent three officers to detain her. I find the implications of the judge’s comments extremely worrying.

Yes. Me too. But I don't think the public will wear that.

No, I don't think so. The exchange in question happened on Twitter.

As far as I know, Joani Walsh helped her to get her property back. She thanked her earlier on Twitter.

If this story, along with 74 year old Maggie's, doesn't create a tsunami of peak trans I don't know what will.

Does anyone know if the police are allowed to deny women sanitary products whilst they are being held for questioning? This seems utterly appalling.
