In BB's apparent absence.....

As in previous years, footy fans please sign in with

  1. Which team you support.
  2. Which team(s) you loathe.
  3. How you are getting your kids to follow the correct team.
  4. A thought on this season (Premiership/Championship/Champions’ League/FA Cup/any leagues world wide/fallout from the World Cup.)

  1. Man Utd
  2. Leeds, Chelsea
  3. Lost cause. She is unfortuantely too old and well-informed to make her own mind up. She shows zero interest.
  4. I don't think it will be a two-team stitch up as mostpundits say. Either Citeh or Scousers will have a sticky period. IF we get EuroChamps qualification then that's okay for this season. We are not Arsenal.

  4. Happy with the new signings, Gana wil be a loss and we could have done with a CB. Europa League qualification and a throphy please. Not convinced about VAR.

  1. Another supporter of the mighty Everton here.
  2. Don't really hate any other team.
  3. Can't get offspring interested in football no matter how hard I try.
  4. Looking forward to seeing how the new signings do. Pity about Zaha. Hoping for the best, expecting the worst!

Southampton
Liverpool, Pompey
Tried and failed although eldest does come with me to our current home town league 2 games, he supports Man U 🤷‍♀️ others have no interest
I think think we’re going down this season ☹️

  1. Spurs / Gillingham
  2. Millwall and MK Dons
  3. Eldest not really interested in football. 6 year old enjoys our trips to see the Gills and loves Match of the Day!
  4. Happy with Spurs signings, great debut for Ndembele last weekend. Sad not to have signed Dybala. Hoping for a trophy this year.

Gillingham have got off to a poor start. Hoping the new players and new manager settle in quickly. Mid table finish would be a decent result.

  1. Man Utd
  2. Liverpool, with every fibre of my being.
  3. By telling them that they like the red ones whenever they’re on TV (they’re only little).
  4. I really wish we’d gotten rid of (and replaced wisely) Pogba and Sanchez, but it is what it is. We’ve been ploughing cash into forwards and midfielders like nobody’s business in the post-Fergie era; now we finally have a decent defence, we have a shit midfield and I really don’t trust Rashford and Martial to show up when it matters. Having said that, I’m optimistic for a top-4 (ok, fourth placed) finish and a decent run in the Europa League, maybe even a domestic cup.

Scrappy win but a win and a clean sheet ⚽️ Good first half, nervy and sloppy second half. Gbamim played well and Kean nealy scored, happy enough with that.

  1. Chelsea
  2. Liverpool. Man U. Arsenal. Don't mind Spurs so much.
  3. Child free but as mums side of family are all chelsea supporters they'll be led well
  4. It'll be a journey.. Just hope Lampard is given time especially he's in such a difficult situation. Little experince and a ban.. We're out the bottom though hurrah!

Really interesting to see that IF we win at Wolves tonight we go top. Wow.
Doncha jus luv VAR.

Wouldn't be surprised if Mata starts with his 'unpicking defences' qualities.

A few complaints but overall okay. Wolves are tough little tigers and should be looking at a Euro place again. The fact that we should have won is sign of vast improvement.

  1. Spurs
  2. Don't hate anyone.
  3. Ds's totally into it. Dh made it clear that if they supported anyone else (ie Arsenal) they could live in the shed!
  4. Just can't make up my mind about this season. Don't see that Man C or Liverpool have particularly improved their squads in the transfer window.

1 Arsenal, Rangers (being Scottish)
2 Don't particularly hate any team but not v keen on Celtic!
3 DS can choose his own team though DH would probably disown DS if it was Celtic
4 Hoping Arsenal can at least win something...

Oh dear, we could have gone top of the league but instead we were shite. As Graeme Sharp said, if you don't score you don't win.
Everton that.

And know its 3 games but after the whole media stir with our results and Lampard blah blah... . We're level with Man U.

Disappointing performance from Spurs, hardly any shots on goal. Really need to break these defensive teams down. Vertongens obviously pissed off Poch but he needs to be on the pitch.
VAR was not our friend today but we weren't up against City Grin

The Imps gave us quite a scare but a comfortable win in the end. Some great goals!

Very sad news about Bury FC, glad Bolton Wonderers have been saved.

MUFC. What can one say? We appear to have found our new level. Competing with Wolves for a Europa spot. Dropping out of Champs league can lead to a spiral. And there is no sign of an end at all.

Very good win for the Toffees today, Wolves are always difficult to play against and Patricio made some great saves at the end to deny Richarlison a hatrick.

Sure Wolves will get their first win against Chelsea . Hopefully eventually get a postive goal difference. Though knew this season be a hard one and not expecting anything from it. Just annoying to blow a 2-0 lead again.

Sorry this isn't strictly related to the thread, but I can't find anywhere else to post it. I'll join in and say:

  1. No team really but Liverpool by default as DH is a lifelong fan.
  2. Again, nobody really.
  3. DCs are staunch Liverpool supporters, always have been and no encouragement needed!
  4. I can't really comment, as I know the sum total of diddly squat about football, hence why I'm posting this....

We are an hour away from Norwich and for DHs birthday I desperately want to get him tickets to Norwich City v Liverpool in Feb. But because I know FA about football, I've no idea how to go about it. I know that LFC away tickets very rarely go on general sale because they're normally all snapped up by season ticket holders, but for the Norwich game, is it really likely they'll sell out? Do I need to know someone with a Liverpool season ticket (I don't, I only know people with Norwich season tickets but understandably that's no good!)?
How can I make this happen? DH hasnt been to a Liverpool game for over 10 years now, and I know it would mean the world to him. He'd be going with my best friends husband who's also a Liverpool fan, so I need to buy 2 tickets.

Any advice welcome, I appreciate its unrealistic but I really want to make it happen for him!

I would contact Liverpool's ticket office or fan services to see what they can offer or advise.

Otherwise there is stubhub, a place where people sell their tickets, but you have to be careful not to pay too much.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 05/09/2019 22:03

Worst case... Get a Norwich ticket? Not ideal but people do it. When went to the Europa semi final there was a fair few Frankfurt fans in with the Chelsea. No one cared. Just depends I guess..

I'd imagine the away allocation would sell out. Especially if only a small amount to begin with.

Much better from Spurs today, run Palace ragged.

Norwich Shock Pukki on the score sheet again.
