A place for support, learning, swapping ideas and magical inspiration.

Just staking my place so I don't lose it later.

Going out to lunch with a friend. It's the first time I've been to a pub since lockdown. I'm not really sure I want to go to be honest but it'll be nice catching up with him. We haven't seen each other since February

YashmisCrone · 17/08/2020 13:38

Just here to park my broom Halloween Smile thank you for the new thread speakout and thank you everyone for all you bring to our gathering. Here’s to our collective magic! 💫

BlankTimes · 17/08/2020 17:25

Another broom here to add to the collection, time for a brew Halloween Grin

VioletCharlotte · 17/08/2020 17:52

Thank you for the shiny new thread. Broom parked at the door. I'll join you for a brew Blanktimes.

Looking forward to seeing where the next chapter takes us all.

VioletCharlotte · 17/08/2020 17:55

Thank you Elphame for the link to your Facebook page. I've just popped over and 'liked' it. I love the name too.

queenrollo · 17/08/2020 19:55

I still haven't taken decent photos of my broom so have grabbed a screenshot from the seller's Instagram.
Seems like a good time to finally share it with you all. I specifically wanted one with a willow handle (I have a special connection with the willow tree) and most wonderfully the creator grows all the materials in her own woodland.
It is a proper broom, she sells them for ceremonial AND domestic purposes. You could use it as a yard/garden broom definitely. It is very robust.

I am going to make my own additions to this at some point to really personalise it.

Morning all :)

A lovely shiny new thread - thank you Speakout. I am a long time lurker who would love to park her broomstick by the fire, but sadly it is very old and is falling apart, @queenrollo - your broomstick looks lovely, please could you PM me the details of where you got it.

Have a lovely magical day everyone!

speakout · 18/08/2020 10:06

queenrollo I love the broom- inspiring me to give my old one a makeover!!
Elphame your facebook page is amazing, I love the subject. Have you visited the Poison Garden at Alwick castle ( Hogwarts school scenes were filmed there)?
Medjuel lovely to have you here to join us, plenty tea in the pot!

queenrollo · 18/08/2020 10:20

Elphame I would appreciate the link too, if you don't mind x

Medjuel · 18/08/2020 10:45

Thanks for the welcome, I am here most days, lurking in the corner, with my invisibility cloak wrapped firmly around me :) Would love a cuppa, very low energy today and feel very ungrounded. Have burnt energising incense and have soothing music on. Am going to head out into garden and stand barefoot on the earth to ground myself, and then back to work. Love the energy on these threads and how supportive everyone is, and how diverse we all are, so interesting to hear everyones views and journeys.

Medjuel xx

speakout · 18/08/2020 10:52

Medjuel your recipe for self care sounds perfect. Enjoy your nurturing rituals- so important and so easy to forget to keep our cups full.
I will light a candle for you and send some energy and magic your way, X

OP posts:
Medjuel · 18/08/2020 11:11

Speakout thank you, much appreciated. I have just been in the garden and did a tiny bit of tidying which agitated the lavenders and surrounded me in their wonderful scent, feel so much better for time out in the real world.

It is indeed very easy to let those cups run down or even dry. I have been inspired by these threads to try and weave at least one magical thing, no matter how small, into my day, every day, it really helps and often leads to more magic finding its way - just wonderful.
xx

speakout · 18/08/2020 11:30

Medjuel that's wonderful to hear. Lavender is wonderful isn't it. I have a large clump growing right outside my window here, the bees love it too.
I am a huge believer in large amounts of tiny magical practices- it has become so natural to me, I pepper my day with dozens of tiny acts of witchcraft.
From thanking the bees, whispering in the wind, pulling energy into my heart with my yoga practice. I bless my tea, cleaning my house and doing my laundry is all magic I often pull a daily Tarot to give me guidance, light some incense, repeat a mantra, have a few moments of cleansing and centering breathing. I wear jewellery that has magical significance, use oils and salts in my shower and bath.
Even on the busiest and stressful days we can spend a few secons to add to our cup.

Join us for the 8 and 8- at 8am and 8pm every day many of us light a candle and take a few moments to share energy, to give, to take strength , to recognise the power of our group.
You don't have to do it every day or every time, but as you light the flame you will be joining at least a few of us to hold strong for each other.
Enjoy your magical day!

TheABC · 18/08/2020 11:35

Delurking after a hectic summer. Love the 8pm idea and will do that tonight.

I cannot wait for the equinox this year.

speakout · 19/08/2020 07:00

Lovely to see you TheABC, I love the autumn equinox too, such a fruitful time.
Moving DD out to her new flat today, so will be busy, it;s only 7 miles away, and she will be back tomorrow for more stuff the house will be quiet without her- this is her last year at University- but I have lots of plans for myself.
Starting with a lemongrass spa shower with my new coconut soap, then a quick yoga session to find balance for the day.
Have a magical day everyone.

rivierliedje · 19/08/2020 07:15

@speakout Oh what a lovely idea with the candles! I might join you in that. I won't be able to do it often in the morning (at that time I'm usually on public transport), but in the evenings it would be lovely.
I'm trying to reconnect to the earth and nature more. I used to have a 'nature table/altar' until I moved, I think I might restart that practice. Now I have a garden as well, I'm hoping to start gardening for nature/biodiversity/the bees, birds and butterflies. It's already pretty wild out there, but I want to take that time to do it consciously.

YashmisCrone · 19/08/2020 09:20

Good morning friends,
A wild and rainy one here, I hope it’s less so where you are for the move speakout. I’m sure it’ll be a day of mixed emotion and I love it that you are making plans for yourself too. Wise woman waters her own garden first. Sending a wish for everything to run smoothly and for you to have a soft landing place when the day is done.

Lovely to see everyone here- old friends and new. I love it when people delurk and join in- your energy is already part of our mix, it’s just like coming home.

Lovely to see the besom queenrollo- another one here inspired to give mine a bit of a revamp now!

rivierliedje thinking about your wild intent for the garden have you seen the wild food and hedgewitchery group on Facebook? Someone shared it here a while ago, I’m afraid I can’t remember who, but I’ve found it really interesting. www.facebook.com/groups/hedgewitchery/

And of course our Elphame’s page is both wonderful and plant based! www.facebook.com/ladypoisonplants/

I’ve been having a tricky time recently, feeling burdened and stressed. Like speakout I’m using many small practices throughout the day to support and sustain myself. This group and the friendship and support it gives me are such a blessing through good times and challenging

YashmisCrone · 19/08/2020 09:22

Oops! Pressed send before I finished writing!

Through good times and challenging ones too- I feel supported and anchored. I have a candle lit as I work today, in gratitude of this. Thank you sisters x

Medjuel · 19/08/2020 09:34

Morning All

Yesterday was an up and down day, ungrounded, grounded, ungrounded and so on. I felt very ungrounded in the evening and remembered the 8pm candle, I lit one, said a few words over it and sat down and a wonderful feeling of peace and contentment settled over me, I was able to sit quietly and watch the flame and send positive and peaceful thoughts to you all. Such a lovely moment. Oh and after Speakout mentioned she pulled a card each day for guidance, I pulled "Ebb & Flow" yesterday which pretty much summed up the day, that too brought comfort as a reminder that this too shall pass.

I've said it before and no doubt will say it many times in the future, this is such a lovely, supportive, thread, I love coming here :)

Have a magical day everyone
xx

speakout · 19/08/2020 09:37

Medjuel

Thank you for sharing that. I am glad you found the "candle connection" helpful.
I was there too- having a restful and calm evening.
It's powerful magic isnt it!!
I am glad you are enjoying the group- it's lovely to have you here as part of our tribe!!

Thank you @speakout I appreciate your guidance.

Posting here on the correct thread!

Hello all. I hope everyone is well and healthy!
I hope it's ok to ask. I would be grateful if someone would be kind enough to let me know a way to check if you're on the right path in life? Something I could do myself that may let me know? I know we can change things and have power over which path to take but I would really like to know if there is something I can do to see if a path, which I want to take (heart vs head) would be ok to try? Thank you :-)

VioletCharlotte · 19/08/2020 09:56

Good morning all** and a very warm welcome to our new people. Feeling refreshed this morning after a long and deep sleep. I woke up to the sound of rain in my window and allowed myself extra time in bed to lay and listen to it.

I've just been reading all about the Leo new moon so sharing the link. I know some of you follow this page as well. Pretty much everything she says speaks to me, so I really enjoyed reading it.

https://kirstygallagher.com/leo-new-moon-august-2020/

I always love the new moon energy, so gentle and feminine. I always feel very settled and sleep well during a new moon.

Wellhellotoyou welcome Smile I always say that the best way of knowing whether you're on your right path is to listen to your instinct. When you think about your options, how do they make you feel inside? Deep down, you have the answers. You could also try asking your guides/ the universe/ angels (depending on your beliefs) - relax down and just ask what it is you need to know and they'll give your the answers.. however they may come to you in all sorts of ways... images, songs, objects... be aware if the signs you're being given. Another option is tarot, and asking the cards for guidance.

Queenrollo I love the broomstick, it's beautiful. Also love your idea of personalising it.

wellhelloyou · 19/08/2020 09:58

Thank you @VioletCharlotte for your guidance and kind words, I will try it. I love the way you allowed yourself extra time to listen to the rain. Two things I adore in life, the sound of rain and petrichor.

speakout · 19/08/2020 12:51

wellhelloyou glad you made it over ito the new thread- I see you have already been made welcome! Always wise words and support here in our space.
VioletCharlotte that's a great link, thanks for sharing- more inspiring reading to do!

I am back home now after dropping DD off at her new flat, all went without a hitch, and the occasion was joyful, I am pleased not to be living in the city!! But this is her time to be living in a busy place, surrounded by activities and friends.
Just doing some pottering, and taking the rest of the day at a slow pace, will make a batch of smudge sprays in a while, light some candles and play some relaxing music.
YashmisCrone I will light a candle for you this afternoon, a rose one, and for anyone else that needs heart support right now.
