I hope everyone is finding some replenishment in the weekend. I know it’s not the end of the working week for all of us but I hope at least it brings a gentler energy.
It feels that many of us have been feeling under pressure recently and as ever, self care feels crucial.
I know others also follow this page but I wanted to share this piece of writing, beautiful as ever, which spoke to me of the self acceptance- particularly in terms of parts of us that the world can make us feel are contradictory- crucial to honouring and being able to take care of ourselves. Ive found that boundaries are such good self care
“Being a kind, loving, soft and caring person.
Should not equal a lack of boundaries, an absence of back bone or inability to say no.
Being a truly kind, loving, soft and caring person.
Must equal clear boundaries, the ability to say no, and the courage to speak from the heart.
It is kinder to say no, instead of a yes that you silently resent them for.
It is healthier and more caring to all, to state boundaries, instead of feeling anger towards someone for crossing the boundaries you didn’t make clear.
It is more growth full to all, to be able to speak from our hearts, from our centre, so we all know where we stand.
When we can inhabit those ways of being.
We teach others how to love us and how to love themselves.
Too often, we are taught we cannot be maiden and wolf.
Peaceful and wild.
Soft and strong.
Good woman and witch.
Yet we must hold both to bring balance and strength.
Through protection and safety we can open and be soft.
