Week 2 - Jan 22 Low Carb Bootcamp Thread

As I'm doing more and more often, I'm starting the next week's thread on a Sunday evening.

This is because, since I've retired, I am no longer controlled by the tyranny of my alarm clock, and so will often sleep too late on a Monday morning for all the keen Bootcampers!

I love the first post of week 2, because for all those who are new and/or are sceptics about low carbing, this is the point at which they may realise just how effective a low carb WOE can be.

Anyway, here is the spreadsheet, and I really look forward to seeing everyone's progress

Shiny new week 2 thread. Very nice and roomy! For now.

Mimosa1 · 24/01/2022 03:53

Found you !

ThePrionOne · 24/01/2022 04:21

6lb loss!

Thanks BIWI.

Onwards and downwards!

JackieWeaverhasendedthemeeting · 24/01/2022 05:50

4lb loss here... it's my first Boot Camp, but not my first foray into the low carb WOE. I know it works, and have fallen off the wagon so many times: let's hope this time I can stay on. Thanks for everyone's encouragement and support so far and thanks for all your work @BIWIFlowers

HaveGogglesWillTravel · 24/01/2022 06:25

Morning all! I am on week 3 as I started a few weeks early and I have lost 3 pounds. Add that to the 6lb I lost in the first two weeks and I am cock a hoop Grin I am new to all this and astounded by how much better I feel. Thanks BIWI, ouchmyfeet and all the experienced bootcampers. I'm really enjoying reading all the advice and delicious menus. My goal this week is to drink all the water and try and keep up better with the chat so I can participate more. Hope everyone has had a good week.

Moonswimmer · 24/01/2022 06:33

9.6lbs for me (from a very heavy starting point). A long way to go but a good start. Have been dreadful with water, so that’s this week’s aim.

SpottyBumPony · 24/01/2022 06:40

5lbs off, really pleased with that.

I feel like I can move more freely, like my joints are not swollen - not that I knew they were before

UnexpectedItemInShaggingArea · 24/01/2022 06:55

3lb down. THREE POUNDS! I've never lost 3lb in a week before. Very, very happy. Well done to all you losers out there.

SweetPotatoDumpling · 24/01/2022 06:59

I've just finished Week 3 so I am suffering from the 'Week 3 Syndrome' of not much to report here I'm afraid (only 1 lb off), after a big loss in the first 2 weeks...so I'm not overly worried about to be fair. It's still coming off 🤷‍♀️

I was expecting this to be fair in Week 3 (and maybe again in Week 4?). I've been incredibly dedicated and not a single thing has passed my lips that shouldn't have!

Water intake needs to be better...but it's just difficult to do, as I'm a primary teacher and I can't leave my classroom to go to the loo..which means I can't chug water (or anything!) during the working day. I have the worlds smallest bladder and what goes in...has to come out 🤦‍♀️ I don't have a TA so it's not even like I can ask someone to mind the class whilst I go (and anyway, the nearest staff loo is several long corridors and two flights of stairs away, a good 10 minute trip there and back!! 🤣) I drink lots after school though...and at weekends.

Onwards and downwards for Week 4 (2) 🙌🏼

byebyecarbs · 24/01/2022 07:01

All's going well here. Today I will drink more water (need to drink mine early so I'm not up in the night) and eat FTGV.

Happy to report high energy levels and feeling chipper too!

queenofcauliflower · 24/01/2022 07:16

3kg/7lbs loss here in wk1 (from a heavy starting point). Thanks for all the chat this past week, I've found it inspiring and so helpful.

SummerSazz · 24/01/2022 07:22

End of week 2 for me and have lost 0.5lb. But it's almost 1/2 stone which in 2 weeks I'm happy with. Water has been good and I just need to increase the green veg I think.....

missfliss · 24/01/2022 07:23

2.4 pounds.
Quietly pleased as very hard for me to lose weight these days.
I know there will be plateaus and possibly gains in coming weeks but it IS motivating

Livelongandprosper · 24/01/2022 07:34

Two and a half pounds down, very happy with that! Will be looking to drink more water this week. I'm feeling much better too without all the sugar I was eating. Thank you for the new thread @BIWI Smile

Velocity · 24/01/2022 07:37

1.5 pounds down for me (I weigh daily so that is an average for the past week). I also know that I tend not to drink enough water over the weekend which makes my Monday weigh-in higher than my Friday one. I'm happy with a slow steady downward trend! Back to more water today!

RagzRebooted · 24/01/2022 07:38

So exciting to see all the week 1 losses. It's end of week 2 for me as I started a week early, though the 1st week wasn't quite as strict. I'll weigh at work, as that's what I have been doing for a few months, so will update later.

@ilovecherries I remember your struggles from the first time around, I'm so sorry it's difficult again but hopefully knowing the end is in sight and you will get through this, will keep you going through the rough part.

I'm another one vowing to do better with water this week. I've switched water bottles to one that's more comfortable to hold and drink from as my 1l glass one has a really wide neck. Already managed nearly 600ml and I've not been up an hour yet.

@SweetPotatoDumpling I really feel for you and your lack of toilet access! That must be really tough. I am lucky to be able to access the toilet all day, though I do remember my placement in community nursing where we had to hold it for 4/5 hours and I was bootcamping at the time. That was tough!

DollyDingleberry · 24/01/2022 07:38

Morning all! 5lbs off for me this week, I’m chuffed to bits!

My weight loss graph tells the story of WW (first 2 weeks of the year) vs LCHF pretty nicely Grin

Glenthebattleostrich · 24/01/2022 07:39

2 lb down on period week.

Fell off the thread last week. Will be better this week.

I will be focusing on water this week and looking at my snacking. I think i snack because I'm bored not because I'm hungry.

Glenthebattleostrich · 24/01/2022 07:40

And well done on the losses everyone, brilliant results

Baystard · 24/01/2022 07:43

Happy with 3lb here, I'd been BC-liting since beginning of Jan so this takes me to 10.5lb loss so far in 2022 so really pleased. Feel a million times better for it too!

Jezzballs2000 · 24/01/2022 07:44

5lb off! I am pleased with this although i was stupid about weighing myself (on friday, late to the party) and it was after food and drink and then again the next day in the morning. So I have lost real weight but probably not that much. Either way i'm happy and motivated for the week to come!

AllTheBlackCoffee · 24/01/2022 07:50

1.8lb off today, which I'm thrilled with as it's week 3 for me. I have guzzled water til it's coming out of my ears this week which I'm sure has helped so if you're not drinking enough I'd really recommend going for it this week a d seeing if it make s a difference.

Feeling headachey today. One of our friends we saw on Saturday has come down with COVID so looks like I'll be testing later today. Sigh. Sad

ShangPie · 24/01/2022 07:51

6lb down and 3.5cm off my waist! Very pleased with this Grin

Expect this rate to seriously slow from here, but onwards and downwards.

Great work everyone 💪🏻
