To ask how focussed you WFH people are today?

Fellow WFH'er here.

Usually quite disciplined with completing tasks and rewarding with mini break but today:

No focus
Lack of concentration
Easily distracted
Loads to do but no motivation to do it

If you're WFH today how focussed are you today? And in general on other days?

@ChangeChingyChange

It's Friday!

I know but I'm still usually much more productive than I am today. FeeL like I've ran out of steam.

Is it just me?

I'm normally very focused, but struggling today. The kids haven't slept well the last few nights though, so I'm tired which doesn't help Confused

Also a lack of concentration, nothing particularly interesting on my to do list, and few 'substantial' tasks that would force me to concentrate.

I've worked really hard this morning. 2 meetings and sent out a load of stuff that I needed to get sorted. But now I'm messing about on here, and shortly going to hoover the DC's bedrooms, I think that's my productivity done for today!

I'm struggling today, but I'm pre-menstrual so expected it. I've picked up the smaller, easier tasks today and shunted the more meaty work to next week when I should be better able to focus.

Not focused either. But I'm self employed and only have a couple more hours of meetings today so it doesn't matter. I've spent time tidying the house and telling myself I should be writing up my reports!

Terrible. I've hardly achieved anything.

I'm struggling these last two weeks.

Partly anxiety about covid cases which have gone beserk in our area and is rife in both DC's schools. Partly work stress. Partly WFH fatigue as I miss real people greatly.

I'm overeating on crap to get through the day and drinking too much wine in the evenings which is bad as it's just a circle then as I'm lethargic the next day and so it continues.

Feeling very 'meh' today.

The miserable weather and Fridayness is not making me productive

On my lunch break now. I could have got more done if people would meet the deadlines they are given! I’m trying to focus on one big task that I need to get finished next week and I have less than 50% of responses and the majority of the ones I have received are frankly complete pants. So I’m probably a bit distracted but cannot properly focus on anything else as I’m starting to worry about the late nights I will have to do next week to make up for the failings of others.
Im still dealing with other ad-hoc emails but nothing particularly meaty

I was really busy and focussed this morning, but it's tailed off now. Partly out of dread at how much I have to do over the next week and a half/two weeks, how much of it has a very hard deadline and how many people are on leave at key times when I'll need something from them. Which means persuading them to not leave things until the last minute.

And then there's how much other work is being shoved to one side and will all have to picked up in the new year.

I've had a dreadful week of procrastinating and now the fear has hit me so I'm going to compete 5 days worth of work in one afternoon Xmas Blush

I'm struggling this week.

I think I've got end-of-year-itis. It afflicts me every December, but not normally until about the 12th. Perhaps it has come early this year.

I could have just said this. This covers it pretty much perfectly. And then people get pissy if you don't do things on time even though it's because you were waiting on them and you know they're there reading their emails because they respond the silly not really work related messages....

Angry

Not terribly, but I'm pregnant with bronchitis (not covid, at least!) and coughing my guts up. Had four broken hours' sleep last night because every time I lie down I start coughing uncontrollably.

To be honest I'm not sure I should be working but I have a massive deadline on 17 December and I need to get draft proposals out this week so I just need to do it (even if I feel like I'm wading through treacle in my brain).

I have worked. I worked through every lockdown whist simultaneously home schooling two children. I worked whist having covid. I have worked on my days off. I do on call so the organisation own me 24/7 during my on call periods. Workload since covid had been insane.

Today, I have had enough. Somehow you can skive when physically at work (gossipy colleagues and general faffing) and not feel guilty. But at home it seems like a massive piss take. 'Snot fair!

I just ate fish fingers. Now what is doom scrolling. I want in on the doom scrolling action. Is it reading covid threads etc?

I’m struggling today. I’ve been wfh for 25 years so should be doing better.

I was hyper focused until about 11 when I finished a big piece of work. Haven’t really got anything done since then apart from a phone call. I think I’ll send some emails then log out early and call it a day.

Haven’t been in the office this week or last due to a lingering cough (NOT covid, but people don’t want to hear it) and I’ve noticed the difference. A couple of days in the office makes me much more productive on my wfh days.

I’m impressed with the honesty! Most wfh threads have people insisting they are so much more productive than when in the office Grin

I’d get more done if people stopped asking me every 5 mins when it will be done Angry I put Teams on Do Not Disturb which apparently means we’ll ring and text her.
