Nope, I'm facepalming at it too.

I've just been discussing it on another thread, basically we're expected to be on the doorstep several times a week either dancing, clapping, or having a two minute silence and it's bullshit. A daily dose of Corona Kumbaya.

Thing is though that there are curtain twitching dickheads out there looking to see who does and doesn't join in then they think they have the right to call people out for it. Both my sons are autistic and the youngest was hysterical during last nights applause when people gave their kids pots and pans to bang together on the doorsteps and people let off fireworks and air horns as well as sitting in their parked cars honking the horns.

I clapped the first week but didn't this week, I think every week is a bit much!

Other things getting on my tits are the local companies seemingly unable to donate/deliver stuff for free to the vulnerable or emergency services without plastering it all over facebook. Totally using the pandemic as a stealth marketing and promotion exercise if you ask me.

I do like to see the good in people but my inner cynic is very loud at the moment!

I spent my dcs' adolescence avoiding S Club 7, I'm not joining in now. So glad I'm rural, my nearest neighbours won't notice.

In my area too, except the hypocrites aren't even self isolating. Half the street has been outside acting like the summer holidays came early, they only act like they're self isolating when it's time to dash in to stand in the doorway for a 2 minute clapping session...

Latest idea on the residents group is an isolation disco in the school car park, everyone can stay 2m away from one another and you can't catch the virus in the open air anyway Hmm I thought most people where I live are fairly sensible but they all seem to have gone Grade-A loco over the last few weeks.

@timeaintnothing

2m apart or not it's still a public gathering, which is not allowed! Muppets.

Call 101 and report them if they do it Wink

Sorry OP, but you are totally being being a miserable, grouchy bitch?Shock That sounds like a brilliant idea.

I bet, if you went out onto your doorstep at 7pm on Sunday, you would be dancing by the end of the first chorus.GrinGrinGrin

luckily my doorstep is less than two metres away from three other doors. (maybe one is a smidge over two metres but if we danced on the doorstep we would definitely be less than two metres away. )

It was a nice idea for the first clapping for the NHS last week, but not every week from now on. The NHS know very well, that everyone loves.and admires them, and all the massive and dangerous work that they are doing now, and always..

But it was lovely to see some nurses and cleaning staff, having a little dance in a hospital corridor, just having a little break from things.

I mean I'd never do it, but I'm a confirmed introvert who's having frankly a pretty good time during this lockdown.

But others need other things to get through. Let people enjoy themselves, eh?

I think we all need to dance on our doorsteps, whilst clapping and maintaining a minutes silence all at once. 24/7. Indefinitely

FFS people who are so selfish not not to join in 😂
