One of the strangest things I have learnt through all this madness is that it is possible that the number of people I cant stand is increasing even though I'm not seeing anyone. I actually thought my general grumpiness would go down as I didn't have to mix with people as much, but I discounted peoples ability to be overwhelmingly fucking annoying on social media

I feel exactly the same! A neighbour has put it on our local page and I can tell they're already poised to shame people who don't join in. The first clap was nice but it's getting a bit much and people act like you hate the NHS if you don't dance like a twat on your doorstep.

Thing is we’ve got whole groups of policemen and firemen and sailors on ships joining in with this bloody clapping. They show it on the news. I thought I was some sort of miser, wanting to cringe every time it was mentioned so I’m bloody glad I found this thread.

We currently have enforced karaoke in the middle of the day on our street. Local (insert whichever expletive you wish) gets his professional equipment out in small front yard and BLASTS his attempts at murdering various artists for well over an hour.
This brings our neighbours, and others not from the street, out onto the narrow pavement all migling away If you need to walk down the street you need to walk in the road and it's a busy thoroughfare too.

People near me (NZ) lit fireworks for this last night.

Kind of ironic when you consider we have a total fire ban right now so as not to overwhelm our essential worker fire service.
