Fuck no, if anyone in my street attempts this I shall be blasting some Rammstein out of my window.

TerribleCustomerCervix · 04/04/2020 03:50

Fucking Reach by S Club 7.

My bum hole is already clenching from the cringe of this.

RabbityMcRabbit · 04/04/2020 03:55

@SapphireSeptember can't beat a bit of Rammstein!Grin

bushtailadventures · 04/04/2020 03:58

Facepalm away! My NDN posted this and invited another neighbour to bring her kids up to join in...my eyes rolled so hard they hurt. Worse thing is, her DH is in the shielded group.

I didn't clap this week and I won't be dancing either, enough is enough.

Oh, there is nothing wrong with being a 'miserable grouchy bitch', you're in very good company

Knowhowufeel2 · 04/04/2020 04:04

FFS, what next??

Why do people feel the need to constantly try and out do each other?

That's all this is:
'Look at meee! I'm so wonderful and caring!' 'I must care the most because I'm doing this bigger, better and louder than you!'

Knowhowufeel2 · 04/04/2020 04:06

I'm beginning to think SM is the devil as none of this would be happening without an audience to tell them how wonderful they are.

Animal farm, eat your heart out!

HighNetGirth · 04/04/2020 04:25

Move over on the “miserable, grouchy bitch” bench, I’m coming in.

DandyPenguin · 04/04/2020 04:26

Gawd I'm enjoying this thread.

OP your self-definition of being 'a miserable, grouchy bitch' does go along very nice with your username. I'll join you in screaming 'fuck the menopause'. Although not at an arranged time on our doorsteps I won't.

Topseyt · 04/04/2020 04:28

Not something I would be interested in, but I wouldn't get too worked up if others did.

Plenty of room on this road for social distancing whilst still being on your own doorstep and not going off your property, although I can see that it could be more of an issue if you live in a terrace that opens directly onto the street.

I'd rather just retire into my own house and read a book, accompanied by a glass of wine and some chocolate.

LoveIsLovely · 04/04/2020 05:30

The extrovert have to destroy everything that introverts love.

Just thanking God I'm not in the UK. The clapping and dancing would have ended me by now.

EstuaryBird · 04/04/2020 05:51

@SapphireSeptember Yes, Rammstein! Let me know when you’re doing that....great idea Grin

wildthingsinthenight · 04/04/2020 06:00

Live and let live I say.
I won't be joining in (it's my worst nightmare!) but if people want to dance on their doorstep as a way to cheer themselves up/ get through another difficult day then good luck to them.
It's one song.
If you don't fancy it just ignore?

alphasox · 04/04/2020 06:50

I think what really annoys me about this is that it’s having to be organised - enforced fun!

My friend in Madrid says that at 8pm every evening she sits on her balcony and people play records or sing or chat or clap, but it’s happened organically, and it’s different each night depending on which neighbours show up. There’s no expectation. That’s lovely!

alphasox · 04/04/2020 06:51

Hmm play records 😂 showing my age there Confused

AuntieMarys · 04/04/2020 06:54

I've just seen " clap for the kids who are staying in " scheduled 3pm Sunday.
Wtf?

SarahInAccounts · 04/04/2020 06:55

FFS. Just no!

Reginabambina · 04/04/2020 07:01

This is awful on so, so many levels.

TreeTopTim · 04/04/2020 07:01

What an absolutely fantastic idea.....not.

TryingToBeBold · 04/04/2020 07:04

I clapped.. maybe two times last week.
This week I had a teething baby who wouldn't settle at 8pm. I'm not clapping.
But apparently it's a shame and some of us are filled with apathy and no compassion..

MyFamilyAndOtherAnimals1 · 04/04/2020 07:08

@SapphireSeptember @EstuaryBird @RabbityMcRabbit

Rammstein it is.

RabbityMcRabbit · 04/04/2020 07:13

@MyFamilyAndOtherAnimals1, you've made my week!Smile

Mascotte · 04/04/2020 07:17

@GlummyMcGlummerson that really sums it up 😂😂

OtherVoices · 04/04/2020 07:17

S club 7 ffs!

We had this last night... no. I didn't join in.

AIBU to facepalm at this...
Apirateslifeforme · 04/04/2020 07:20

Lol. We have a neighbour trying to organise something similar here.which is a great idea, because most of us have our front doors not 2 feet , let alone 2 metres away from a neighbour on one side.
And still, theres a handful of the neighbours who are intent on spreading some cheer Confused
Dont think that's all they'll be spreading though.

OtherVoices · 04/04/2020 07:20

I wonder if 'shining fucking phone torches a light at the sky has worked?
Must read the news this morning....
