AIBU?

Could Donald Trump be the next Hitler?

I pray to God he doesn't get elected as the next president but after just watching the C4 documentary about him, I fear for the future of the USA and consequently the world. Hitler was once a joke but then economic conditions changed and people wanted answers and Hitler was able to blame much of Germany's ills on the Jews much like Trump is doing with Mexicans, Muslims etc. His supporters seen equally fanatical and not open to any kind of rational debate. It really fucking scares me, the world seems to becoming much more intolerant and if economic conditions deteriorate further I worry about what will happen. Please do tell me IABU but I feel bloody uneasy about this...

Claig will be here soon to tel you how unreasonable you are being and the elite and establishment have bought the press to make you see Trump like this and not as the free worlds saviour.

But in reality, Trumps popularity is worrying.

There have been very powerful forces pushing for this sort of thing for quite a while now... it's really opened so many people's eyes as to what went on 70 years ago and the levels of collusion involved..

It's worrying, no question. He wants power and I don't think her would use it responsibly. But the good news is that the US government is designed to make "strong man" governance difficult to do.

Really Seneca? Their intelligence forces have been pushing it (strong man government) around the rest of the world for quite some time.

Don't be silly. He'll no doubt ruffle a few feathers but nothing on that magnitude.

Don't be silly. I bet when he's in the general electiom he go towards the left to steal the democrats votes. He used to be very liberal, he says what his supporters want to hear and he have bring in an wider base when he competes in the general election.

Nah. He's just a 9-5 asshole. All mouth and no trousers, an all encompassing bawbag for want of a better word. I hope I'm not proven wrong of course.

Personally I've got Putin pencilled in for that role. He combines the personality cult, youth groupies and ruthless removal of any remote challenge.

Trump won't be the leader in the coming disaster, but the enabler.

Claig isn't real. Claig is a primitive spambot programmed to predict a glorious victory for DT and fling out a few hackneyed phrases: 'metropolitan elites' , 'Trump cannot be bought and sold' ' PPE leftists' , 'Trump will tell so many truths' as soon as the word Trump is entered on these message boards.

A beta version of Claig was deployed by UKIP during the general election which endlessly spewed out 'People's Army' , 'Only Farage says what he really thinks' along with the above clichés.

I was just saying this yesterday he's becoming so like hitler was in the early days. I'm Scottish and feel like many of my fellow countrymen that he's been trying to bully, dictate, threaten us financially for years.

He's been trying to bully the Scots?

I think he would like to be, but I sincerely hope that if (God forbid) he actually became POTUS, international sanctions would clip his wings.

I think he's a buffoon but he has some bloody fanatical supporters who are so stupid/ disillusioned/ feel empowered by him that they are queuing up in their droves to see him. The reporter tonight said he'd not seen anything like that since Obama and we all know what happened to him...

And yes, I was expecting Claig to have commented on this by now. Another deranged, evangelistic supporter of these abhorrent ideas who feels totally justified in their illusion. Just why does anyone feel a billionaire will represent the interests of the working class is beyond me...

Yes, over a golf course. There's some interesting articles if you google. He's caused a stir up there.

There is next to no chance of Trump winning the presidential election. He is too polarising a figure. He is far to polarising and will alienate floating voters. His cheerleaders would vote Republican anyway. Current odds have Hillary Clinton at 10/11 and Donald Trump at 3/1.

You think Trump is scary? Try Putin. I sincerely hope we have a very close eye on him.

I saw a worrying link from the New York Times or something about what to expect at a Trump rally. Quite aside from every single thing any one person has ever said to annoy me, this is a US presidential candidate.

He said to the crowd, as a protestor was being led away - take his coat off him - it's minus ten outside.

I just hope that Americans have enough gumption not to elect this maniac.
