Despite a pretty rubbish april for me ( too much poor health) I'm going to carry on in May as much as I can. Hope you will all join me!

a friendly and supportive thread for those attempting daily yoga with Adrienne ( or kassandra or anyone!)

Obviously I did mean trying to get up to 20 minutes! But today it was 6. Oh well

@Sooverthemill 6 minutes is much better than 0 minutes!

@Sooverthemill 6 minutes is much better than 0 minutes!

Yes it is. 6 minutes again today. DH is away and I find it hard to juggle everything in the morning when he’s not here

I had 3 days off with Covid but felt well enough today for a bit of Kassandra! She started off sitting on her heels with her toes bent under. Toe squat?? This was absolutely impossible for me. My toes don't bend that much!

hoochycrone · 25/05/2023 09:48

Ooo can recommend the 10min Kassandra. It's all I seem to have the energy for at the moment.

Hope your better soon @Buttalapasta

Snow falling outside the window, and a little cat! And a dog later on Grin
Haven't done the flexible mind bit though, too lazy.

Sooverthemill · 25/05/2023 09:53

I love this kassandra series. Cats and dogs and as she's in French Canada there's always snow!

Miriam101 · 25/05/2023 09:55

@Buttalapasta Adriene did that in the course I'm following the other day. Impossible! It was the only bit I really could not manage at all, even vaguely...

Buttalapasta · 25/05/2023 10:18

That looks lovely @hoochycrone ! Kicking myself though that I didn't realise she was doing this 30 day challenge last month. I could have done it in synch but am currently doing an older one. I think I might do this one next month.

Rummikub · 25/05/2023 10:43

@hoochycrone thanks for posting that video. That’s the first proper bit of yoga I’ve done in weeks! It was nice to do, simple, not arduous. Perfect for me right now! I have day 2 cued up for tomorrow.

The flexible mind but was just pick a different exercise and try it. I was thinking youre my flexible mind practice as your not Adrienne 😬

Rummikub · 25/05/2023 10:46

And I really liked the long om at the end!

Can you sign up to receive a reminder email like with the Adrienne ones?

UnaOfStormhold · 25/05/2023 10:53

Happy to report I seem to be back in the yoga habit and have been managing daily mat time - even if I decided against doing centre day 6 when wiped out with a cold I managed a short bedtime practice instead. Definitely in the 6 minutes is better than 0 camp!

I can do toe squats but my toes feel like a very small area to support my body weight with! I did see a picture of someone doing a half toe squat with the other leg in lotus. Just, no...

ScottishBeth · 25/05/2023 21:03

I can do toe squat as well - must have strong feet. Who knew? It is a bit of a weird thing.

I've continued with Revolution. I did day 4 - Prana yesterday. It was a bit weird, lots of breathing things. But once that was done it was good. I was going to do day 5 today but didn't have time. I'd already done a post run yoga though, so it doesn't ruin my streak.

@Miriam101 it sounds like you're doing really well. Which series are you doing?

@UnaOfStormhold definitely with on swapping out day 6 if you're poorly!

Sooverthemill · 28/05/2023 13:22

I also can do toe squat, isn’t it weird how does are? You can subscribe to Kassandra and get reminders. That series is the one I’ve been doing recently, done all 30 days it’s really good

Yesterday I left my yoga till the last minute (had tried a video earlier with my little girl but she wasn't having any of it) so had to pick a short video. And I didn't want one that was too easy. I ended up doing yoga for upper body strength which was horrendous! Is was just 1000 push up! Never again!

This morning I did day 5 of Revolution which was lovely. Lots of nice sun salutations. And some Dancer pose which wad fun, much better on one side than the other.

Looked ahead and day 6 is 36 minutes 😭

Sooverthemill · 29/05/2023 08:20

@ScottishBeth that doesn’t sound very Adrienne! Horrendous indeed. No yoga today or yesterday I’m afraid. Life intruded

OP posts:
Miriam101 · 29/05/2023 09:04

@Sooverthemill no yoga here either for a couple of days as DP is away and it's just impossible with the kids around. I did try it on Friday but they both "joined in" - they are 6 and 2- and you can imagine how relaxing that was!
Going to get back on it from Wednesday.

@ScottishBeth I'm doing what I think is one of the original Adrienes from 2015. 30 days of yoga. Liking it so far - I never know what she's going to throw at me

Sooverthemill · 30/05/2023 08:11

@Miriam101 i think that may be the first . I am glad I only have animals who intrude bodily but life isn’t helping!
terrible nights sleep ( DH is back after almost a week away and he forgets I think he’s in bed with another body and always sprawls over for the first few nights back)

so I did the fairly new restorative one 19 minutes of basically lying down and saying it’s yoga!

I'm still doing YWA yoga camp and really enjoying it but I'm only up to Day 10 so think it will be well into June before I finish this one!

ScottishBeth · 31/05/2023 07:58

I'm up to day 7 of Revolution. Day 6 was a bit much, a lot on my shoulders. I did it 2 days ago and weirdly yesterday was fine, but I've woken up this morning and my abs are sore. Day 7 was really good yesterday.

I've just remembered, there was some tree pose on day 7 and I was able to get my foot up on the inner thigh. But my foot was pulling my trousers down! I gave up on the first side but took my trousers off for the second side (thankfully did this practice in my room, rather than the garden or by an open window). I've never tried to put my foot up there before so I'm very pleased, though it was hard to balance. Where do other people have their foot?

Day 8 today is just at the right time. I think my hormones are going crazy so some gentle time will do me some good.

@Miriam101 I think I did that one years ago. Glad you are enjoying it.

Jumbojem · 01/06/2023 21:44

@ScottishBeth my leg always slides down my trousers doing tree pose! Starts off up by inner thigh but I can't keep it there and usually ends up just below my knee.
Do we have a June thread or are we carrying on with this one? I'm away at the mo so not doing any yoga, although I could probably do with it, feel like my knees and hips are six stiff this week.

Yogachick · 05/06/2023 06:11

@ScottishBeth my foot is always on my calf in Tree. My little trotters are far too chunky to get it any higher! Is there a June thread? I’m finally back on my mat, devoid of any strength or flexibility🙄

OP posts:
ScottishBeth · 05/06/2023 09:30

@Yogachick good to see you back - hope you join the new thread! Your strength and flexibility will all come back. I always had my foot on my calf in tree, until the other day when it didn't seem out of the realms of possibility that I'd be able to get it higher.

notanicepersonapparently · 05/06/2023 14:03

Thanks for the link to the hips and core vid @Sooverthemill. (And for the new Thread) I’m off on hols soon and looking for some short ones to do (cramped hotel room permitting)
