Hope you don’t think I’m treading on your toes @yogachick just like things being orderly so can’t post on the October thread any more 😂

Yesterday was a lovely yoga day, pranayama YWA video which left me feeling great plus another couple of hours of assorted flow. Also a chaturanga practice. I bought some resistance bands to work on my strength to improve my yoga, and am eyeing up kettlebells to buy after Christmas. I don’t recognise this new me just yet, but I like her a lot 🩷.

Go for it @Poisonwood ! As I’ve been so slack with my practice I didn’t even realise but am glad to have a shiny new thread to post on x

Poisonwood · 02/11/2024 20:32

I did an hour and a half of YWA, core and hips and Sun salutations. I’ll do some meditation now before bed.

Really enjoying the YWA Breathing Room mini series. Did a couple this morning, will do some from her Flow series this afternoon. I’m finding her 30 day Breath very chatty but will persevere.
Meditation with new Mala beads this morning, very effective.

Didn't even notice the other thread was still October 😁

Am up to date 4 of YWA Revolution. Enjoying so far.

Poisonwood · 04/11/2024 17:59

@PatienceOfEngels it’s easy to go on automatic 😂. I’m glad you’re enjoying Revolution. I’m doing Flow and Breath…Breath is quite chatty.

Today I did YWA Breathing Room Warmong Flow and really loved it, I wish the Breathing Room series was 30 days!
Meditation tonight.

Hello! How did it get to November? I totally forgot to build my playlist of different Yogis for the month so I need to get on with that... Also did yoga for the first time this month today so a bit behind.
Did YWA Yoga for Power and Balance. I've been shying away from any I might think are "tough" for a while, that's the trouble with choosing your own rather than following a series. So this one was a good starter, not too challenging but plenty of planks and some leg raises. Plus standing splits which I actually enjoy, I am wobbly but feeling my standing leg get stronger and not falling makes me feel accomplished.
@Poisonwood I bought kettle bells and resistance bands over the last few years. I'm not so great at using them though, especially the resistance bands I never seem to have the right length band or the right resistance so all seems a bit of a faff. Kettle bell was better and I really should get back into it these long dark eves.

Thanks for link @Yogachick

reywd some chair yoga with Adrienne today. Trying to find a balance between too difficult and too easy. The one I did was prob a bit too easy. But I suppose that’s quite good to find out too.

Yogachick · 05/11/2024 08:09

5 min yoga stretch with Sarah Beth this evening. Better than nothing, had to force myself to the mat. I don’t know why I’m like this when I get such benefit from yoga 🙄-wrote this 2 days ago and didn’t press the ‘post’ button-doh!

PatienceOfEngels · 05/11/2024 11:50

YWA Revolution Day 5 (31). Too much yakking and she took ages to get going. The first 10 minutes was mostly freestyle (if I wanted to do freestyle I wouldn't do a video). Quite slow so I ended up adding a few bits in myself. Some good flows though.

Poisonwood · 05/11/2024 13:22

@Jumbojem youve reminded me to add the Power/Balance one to my playlist, I like it too.

@Rummikub i know a gentleman who does a lot of chair yoga, I think he modifies a lot though. Hope you’re doing okay.

@yogachick sometimes I find myself drawing back from things I like/I know are good simply through being utterly drained - can you do some gentle self care in other ways maybe like baths/foot massages and maybe it’ll help guide you to the mat.

@PatienceOfEngels Too much chat and I lose focus big time.

Breath Day 5 today, plus other bits. Good practice.

Hope you feel better soon. I think it took me about 2-3 weeks to recover from Covid. It’s not just a cold!

PatienceOfEngels · 06/11/2024 09:04

Usually try to get my yoga in at work before classes but this series are all 30mins plus and I can't quite manage it!

Going to try and fit it in either in a free period (not sure where as my room is in use) or tonight between kids bedtimes.

Jumbojem · 06/11/2024 19:42

I did YWA Yoga for Lizards this am. A bit silly maybe but I do like that unlike some Adriene doesn't take it all so seriously. Also like lizard pose so a good quick one to enjoy this morning.

PatienceOfEngels · 07/11/2024 07:18

YWA Revolution Day 6 last night (36mins core focus - not as crazy as the day 6s sometimes are) and day 7 this morning (30mins stability. Feeling a bit sluggish so quite appreciated taking it a bit slow this morning, lots of standing and no planks).

Sooverthemill · 07/11/2024 09:15

Thanks @Rummikub in 2022 I had definite covid and I was ill for at least a month which is why I suspect this is. I tested this week and am negative but after being still so unwell I think it must be. DD also has it and has had a high temp over 38 for 2 weeks. No yoga here!

Poisonwood · 07/11/2024 18:17

@Sooverthemill get well soon! Lots of rest.

Yesterday I did gentle yoga including YWA Yoga for Menstrual Period. Today I’ve done breath 7 (6 yesterday) and YWA Yoga Wash Detox flow. Also practices planks/side planks for 20 min.

Tried Charlie Follows full body yoga, did YWA Fuego and Observe. Breath 8 tonight, and meditation.

PatienceOfEngels · 09/11/2024 06:43

Skipped yesterday and off to the big smoke today so not sure I'll fit it in.

Feeling so low on energy at the moment.

Poisonwood · 09/11/2024 07:33

@PatienceOfEngels the weather doesn’t help, or the clock change. Hope you have a nice weekend.

I thought I’d try a video on Nervous System by Jenn, yoga/trauma therapist, today. I’ll do Breath 9 (Balance) in a minute and then I’m also going to try and do a routine of my own devising. We’ll see how that goes 😆.

OP posts:
Poisonwood · 10/11/2024 22:00

Did Breath 10 and meditation today, couldn’t do more as children have a sick bug.

YWA revolution day 8 yesterday (31mins - lovely meditation based easy practice) and Day 9 this morning (32 mins, lots of flow with some of my most hated poses - chair, yogic squat and crow).

Poisonwood · 11/11/2024 17:39

@PatienceOfEngels I don’t think I’ll ever be able to do crow.

YWA Yoga Kiss today, was okay but not quite what I needed. Also did Alia’s Spicy Flow which was quite good for some deep stretches. I’m just about to do Breath 11 and Marnie’s 20 min core.

OP posts:
Poisonwood · 13/11/2024 06:59

Yesterday was YWA total body yoga deep stretch, and my first yoga with Kassandra which was lovely too. Meditation for 30 min.

Today is my first in-person yoga class…nervous is an understatement!
