Always aiming for consistency in my practice, when I manage it I reap huge benefits and am a nicer person🄰

Marking my spot for tomorrow. Aim is to do YWA Move and keep practicing outside for as long as the weather allows this month. Started back at work 2 weeks ago and going well so far but workload will ramp up towards half term.

PatienceOfEngels · 01/09/2024 07:03

Didn't set my alarm but DH was up at 6am so I headed outside. Saw my friend the bat again and beautiful pink clouds as the sun came up.

Did both day 1 (29mins) and 2 (28mins) of Move to get a little ahead for the month. Had to stop a few times when she was holding a lunge for a bit longer than I felt comfortable but a good mix of stretch/breath/poses. Quite a lot on the wrists and a burst of core work at the end of day 2.

I'm so pleased I've managed to embed this in my daily routine though not looking forward to moving inside once it starts raining (or even when it gets cold - wonder if I need thermal anti-slip socks!)

You’re such an inspiration @PatienceOfEngels . I’ve managed a ten minute Kassandra this evening,I’m supposed to be doing her 30 days with my sisters but I’m already missing Adriene!

Thank you @Yogachick - I'm on a roll at the moment so trying to keep my momentum going. There can be times that I don't do yoga for months and months so trying to keep going!

Did Day 3 of Move (24 mins) this morning. I think this one is definitely going to work me hard. Can feel it in my right knee. Need to make sure I keep my walking up (or will when today's mini heatwave is over).

HomemadeHallie · 02/09/2024 11:49

Hi, please can I join?
I have recently been getting into the habit of practicing yoga in my evenings before bed. I did most of August with a few days missed here or there.
I am a beginner but like to give everything a try and hopefully will improve over time. I definitely do find it hard on the wrists, my right hand has sporadic carpal tunnel flare ups so I try my best with that.

Yogachick · 02/09/2024 12:04

Welcome @HomemadeHallie we are all just doing our best. My best is often far from great but keep on trying!

Welcome @HomemadeHallie !

HomemadeHallie · 02/09/2024 22:02

Thanks both 😊

have just completed a 20 min Sarah Beth Yoga stretch before bed āœ…

PatienceOfEngels · 03/09/2024 06:21

YWA Breath day 4 (Flow 29 minutes). Really nice practice. But why is it that sometimes she's so fast I can't keep up (usually with a flow and stepping my foot up into a lunge) and sometimes she's holding a pose so long I'm thinking, c'mon Adriene!

Still enjoying sunrise yoga.

PatienceOfEngels · 03/09/2024 06:22

*Move not Breath!

PatienceOfEngels · 03/09/2024 07:14

Just realised you're on the LOSE IT thread as well @HomemadeHallie !

Jumbojem · 03/09/2024 07:23

Wow, two threads have started and moved on since I last posted! August is always a tricky month for me to find time for yoga and not sure I did any, and very little in July.
After 2.5 weeks in a campervan and doing a lot of cycling I really need to get back to yoga. Feel weak and become very inflexible, towards the end of holiday could barely look over my shoulder to check for incoming traffic for OH (driving on wrong side of road).
Started off yesterday with a Charlie Follows 20 minute reset for aching muscles. It was just what I needed, focus on hips and shoulders relatively gentle. I love how a lot of her practices are filmed outside, this one by a stream with babbling water and birdsong in the background. Plus her voice is very calming to my ears.
Will look for a 30 day series to start though as need some focus but need a non challenging one to start with!

Rummikub · 03/09/2024 13:31

Joining in

Thinking which 30 day to do. I found Move quite hard.

PatienceOfEngels · 03/09/2024 17:49

I found Breath okay @Rummikub and True is my favourite so far. Flow was manageable because of shorter practice lengths.

I haven't done any of the others (I probably started all of the others after True but didn't get far!). I can't wait to pick something new for October.

Rummikub · 03/09/2024 22:41

I did follow your head and dipped into Breathe. I think I might redo it.

Rummikub · 03/09/2024 22:42

Breath!

lovelychops · 03/09/2024 23:00

Hi all. Is there anyone online you would recommend? I've tried Ansa Rebel but not enjoying the practice.
I've been doing yoga for many years so don't need beginner level. But something I can do at home for a good stretch, a challenge and maybe some relaxation?!

PatienceOfEngels · 04/09/2024 06:38

Move day 5 Deepen. Enjoyed this one. Lots of moves to stretch out my hips (pigeon, lizard) with a bit of core but nothing too quick.

@lovelychops I really like Yoga with Adriene. At the moment I'm doing one of her 30 day programmes but she also publishes a monthly calendar with a mix of practices (good for when you want a really quick one or fancy something different - I've found some now favourite videos that way).

lovelychops · 04/09/2024 06:56

Thank you! Have heard good things about Aidrianne

HomemadeHallie · 04/09/2024 07:16

Ah yes hello on both threads @PatienceOfEngels šŸ˜„

well I already skipped yesterday so not a good start for September šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

does it have to be a 30 day challenge we do or can I join in just doing random videos?
i will make up for skipped day yesterday and do 2 videos today.

Yogachick · 04/09/2024 07:18

Well done all ,even those who haven’t got to the mat yet, which is mešŸ™„

OP posts:
PatienceOfEngels · 04/09/2024 08:26

You can do whatever you want @HomemadeHallie . Thread is here for support and inspiration so don't worry if you skip a day. Do what works for you.

HomemadeHallie · 04/09/2024 22:03

Perfect @PatienceOfEngels

I just did a 45 minute Five Parks video. I don’t usually venture much past 20-25 minutes but this was good :)
much needed as have spent entire day at my desk!

PatienceOfEngels · 05/09/2024 06:18

Move Day 6 Deepen (22mins) . Definitely a workout this morning. Saw my friend the bat again. It's not really sunrise yoga when it's so dim and gloomy!

HomemadeHallie · 05/09/2024 08:15

You are so good at getting up early @PatienceOfEngels

I would love to be up and about, movement done before my kids wake up but I always switch my alarm off and go back to sleep 🤣 even if I put my phone by the door where I have to get up and switch it off I just climb back into bed šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø
