Day 20 move.

Good grief I found that hard. Collapsed into the side planks, and those knees up things I found virtually impossible 😂

Breakfast must have been too heavy 🤔

Thanks for the encouragement @Buttalapasta
Yeay 50 days for me too. Just can't believe it 😮

It's made such a difference to my aches and pains and energy levels. It's always worth doing.

Sooverthemill · 20/02/2023 11:32

Yea well done to everyone who has managed every day and also to everyone who has tried their best! Like me, today and yesterday I did a short Kassandra as I just needed a little tlc

Day 16 center
I must’ve missed this one last month as I have no recollection of this!

When others do forward fold do you bend your knees to touch the floor or bend as much as passive with straight legs?

ScottishBeth · 20/02/2023 16:18

@Buttalapasta 50 days! I am so pleased! Well done to everyone who has made it! And also to everyone that hasn't, but even after life got in the way has come back. That is the most important thing.

I haven't posted in a few days but have been keeping up with Move. I can't remember where I am up to but there were standing splits yesterday and the day before. I quite like them, though they don't look much a split on me. Maybe one day! Haven't done any yoga yet today, but I will.

@Rummikub I always bend my knees in order to touch the floor. In a yoga class years ago the instructor said bending knees to touch the floor is the best. I think even with bent knees you still get the hamstring stretch.

Buttalapasta · 20/02/2023 17:02

Yes! Well done to everyone whether or not you've made it to the mat everyday or not. I've been doing the 30 days yoga in January for the last few years and I have always given up before this point so really hoping to keep it going this time.

Rummikub · 20/02/2023 17:08

@ScottishBeth thanks for that

i tried both today as wasn’t sure which is best.

And as I said previously there’s only a marginal difference between my forward fold and half lift!

notanicepersonapparently · 20/02/2023 17:30

@Rummikub my hamstrings are too tight for me to forward fold without bending my knees. Maybe I will gradually be able to straighten my legs with lots of practice. One day.
Im about to do Move day 20 and have just opened up the video. When I see her in that burgundy sweatshirt it fools me into thinking it will be a relaxing session. I know better now 😃

VerbenaView · 20/02/2023 21:17

Center Day 19 yesterday, and Day 20 today.
Today, I couldn't do the lying down cactus arms, I have a dodgy right arm that had very little flexibility and strength, but with yoga since the 1st January it has improved so, so much. I couldn't even put my hair in a hair tie without being in significant pain, I can now do it with ease. I was, however, surprised that I couldn't cactus my left arm though.

@Rummikub I am only a beginner, but I always have my knees at least a little bent as I have dodgy knees from running, but sometimes I bend a lot, especially if I want to stretch my lower back, and I also cup my elbows as I feel that I get a better stretch. Adriene mentioned this in one of her practices, so I started doing it and I 'feel' the stretch more.

Buttalapasta · 20/02/2023 21:28

Superficial comment: I liked her yoga outfits and studio better in Move. 😳

Rummikub · 21/02/2023 00:07

@notanicepersonapparently @VerbenaView

ah so I will definitely do the knees bent net forward fold.
I used to be able to touch my toes but it feels like my back has no flex in it! I’m going to make that my aim as there’s lots of forward folds in centre.

hoochyhag · 21/02/2023 09:19

Day 21 really swift, 12 mins, yet the tummy muscles have had a good workout Confused

Good plan about holding elbows in forward fold, will try that. Hamstrings aren't too bad but knees are not good, too much running, so I tend to be careful with them. But, I find even they are better with this practice, and muscles in my legs are better.

The outfits! She looks amazing. But, I would look rubbish in those things Blush

But it helps me to get changed for the practice. I keep yoga stuff, cycling shorts, vest and headband in a drawer under the telly.

Yogachick · 21/02/2023 11:20

I’m feeling lots better. I did the little self care 10 minutes last night then back to Day 14 Move this morning. It’s such a relief to get back to my mat despite the lingering copious amounts of gunk making me cough and blow my nose so much. Where does it all come from- there’s GALLONS! Anyway poor husband is still coughing 3 weeks in so I think the tail end will hang for a bit, rudely.
I hope fellow sickies are getting through xx

Rummikub · 21/02/2023 12:36

Day 17 Center move.
lots eagle arms in this which I cannot do! And I bent my knees in forward fold and it felt much better!

after a year of move it’s nice to do different poses and transitions. I can’t decide if I can do the transition to upward dog easier than I used to- but it certainly feels easier. Hoping for some arm toning!

The shorter sessions means I am more likely to do it too.

happytobemrsg · 21/02/2023 22:43

Still on track & did day 21 of Move today. Gosh I can really feel it in my abs! I love a good core practice (must be a glutton for punishment 😬)

VerbenaView · 21/02/2023 22:58

@Rummikub Glad forward fold was better for you. I can't do eagle arms either.

@Yogachick so pleased that you're feeling much better.

Day 21 Center, I really felt my back obliques, whereas last month, I felt it much more in my core.

Sooverthemill · 22/02/2023 08:57

@Rummikub I always have knees at least slight bent. All instructors I've ever seen say to do so is okay.
no yoga today, an absolute pig of a night with all our smoke alarms going off randomly until I worked out how to remove the battery. I think each went off 6 times about an hour apart

Center Day 19. Either my fitness is improving or this was an easy one. I was stable in reverse triangle with straight legs. A definite achievement. Some of the sequences seemed familiar from Move so I felt I knew what I was doing. It flew by. 😊

hoochyhag · 22/02/2023 10:40

Oh gosh @Sooverthemill hope you have an easy day.

Good to hear you're better @Yogachick glad you can wipe down that yoga mat 😂

Day 22 move, a good session. I can't jump to the top of the mat, however, I have to shuffle up, protecting my little old lady knees 👵🏻

midgemadgemodge · 22/02/2023 11:37

I try to jump but I only get halfway before there just seems too much of me in a small space !

Rummikub · 22/02/2023 12:00

I’m impressed with all the jumping. Whenever she does a fancy move to get into a new position I just shuffle or drag my legs instead!

@Sooverthemill nightmare with alarms! Mine went off once at 2am and I didn’t know the code! No sleep for anyone that night.

Day 18 Gaze center. This again was deceptively hard with the the squat. Not a fan of gazing - o definitely have a monkey mind.

CeeCeeDeeBee · 22/02/2023 12:36

Just back-to-backed days 18,19 and 20 of Center. Still behind but feel like I've had a good stretch.

Jumbojem · 22/02/2023 19:21

Hi everyone, I don't think I've posted in a while but I'm still plugging away. I did Move Day 19 and 20 today. Hoping to do 21 (which looks like a short ab one) and 22 tomorrow. I'm still a couple of days behind, and I'd like to start Centre I think on 1st March so I'll have to squeeze day 29 in too. Will miss out the self guided day 30.
Anyway, that's my plan, I'm looking forward to trying Centre again and think I may try to alternate Move and Centre. Perhaps with the odd non series Adrienne practice thrown in.
I think my core is slowly getting stronger, but on the other hand I totally failed at today's side planks so who knows?! I certainly have more awareness of how I move and feel much better for it at any rate.
What's everyone else's March plans?

BestIsWest · 22/02/2023 20:46

Center day 22 done today. Really nice one.

ScottishBeth · 22/02/2023 20:56

I've not posted as much recently. But have still managed yoga every day! Although some days I've done a 10 minute bedtime practice or similar. On that note I love that bedtime practice - it makes me feel super relaxed.

Today I did Move day 14 and it was really nice and stretchy. I hate the yoga squat though! I don't mind adapting most things because I feel like I still get the same benefit, but I am just not really convinced that my version of the squat is doing much for me at all! Oh well.

I am pleased I have kept up with daily yoga, but I think I got more out of the 30 day series when I actually did it in 30 days. I'm not really getting a sense of Move the way I did with with Center. Oh well, I'm still getting stronger and more flexible! Sometimes when I'm playing w9th my little girl I get into downward dog and she just crawls in between my arms and legs and she loves it! But there's not way I would have been able to hold it long enough before!

It's so good to see so many of us keeping up! And it seems like people are recovering from bugs, which is good! Glad you are feeling better @Yogachick
