What's your best work gossip/drama?

I'm self-employed (and love it), but I do miss the gossip and petty work drama. Anything good to share?

In my past jobs, the most shocking was a TA who lied and said that she had given medication to a kid when she hadn't (because she had forgotten). Not really gossip, but I also had a coworker who literally hadn't eaten any vegetables her whole adult life.

One of my team sent a voice note intended for a friend to our group work chat being awful about the management and team - she got fired for gross misconduct. Someone managed to quickly capture it first and obviously forwarded it to us all. It was brilliant!! I still listen to it now when i'm having a bad day 😂

The male boss uses the women’s loo to go for a poo as the WiFi is better in there. 🤢

I forgot something and nipped back to the office and saw a male colleague snogging the cleaner! 😳😮

Ooh l love a work drama when it doesn't involve me!!

One of the office girls was shagging one of the drivers but then had a one night stand with another driver. All this while she was married to one of the managers!!!

That would be highly entertaining.

First ever job. 19 years old. My new boss was the PA to the director and asked me to clear out his filing cabinet and I found a box of condoms...turned out they were shagging in his office every evening once we'd all left. Both married.

Did she get caught?

Her and her husband split up a while later - l can only assume he heard the rumours. Not sure if the 2 drivers ever spoke about it.

Following leaving drinks for someone, 2 very senior and very married (to other people) members of staff bumped into a close colleague round the corner from bar. They actually had left 5mins apart and made some excuse for going to a shop and having bumped into eachother. The male was staying in London (paid for by company), the female was suppose to be going home.

They arrived within 5 mins of eachother the following morning. She was still in last nights outfit.

It's London FGS, at least get a change of clothes before arriving to be less obvious

Warden in an old people's complex got caught shagging a contractor in the community room where the oldies play bowls and have coffee mornings. By residents 😬

Cheeky cow is brazening it out, as well. Says those who saw it were lying but everyone has seen her in the office with this bloke, giggling and groping. Vile.

She had the audacity to scream in the faces of a few of the residents because she thought it was them who'd reported her (it wasn't). Apparently they 'could have ruined her life' if she lost her job and her husband found out she was having an affair.

Not her fault, obviously 🙄

Ex boss who abused cocaine and fiddled the books. Private mental health facility. Despite evidence, it was dropped. Staff turnover high.

The finance person at my school sent a spreadsheet with everybody's DoB / address and..... salary!
I don't know why she didn't recall it but then sent an email telling us not to read it and delete it

I was teaching English as a foreign language to adults in a private language school in Tokyo. I was 23 years old.

I wanted to visit my boyfriend in Hong Kong and I had asked and okay'd this with the scheduler.

But he booked me in to teach anyway so there was a clash. We had a mild disagreement over it and I went out that night, had a few beers and bitched about him to friends and a couple of people who used to work in the language school.

I got a phone call the next morning to be told the scheduler had been attacked in the office early that morning by one of the people who used to work in the language school.

He had attacked the scheduler with some wire and had tried to garrote him!! 😱 The scheduler was saved by another teacher who intervened. This was all done in my name apparently. For me.

The guy was on drugs. Had been sacked for drug use but clearly was still using them.

It was horrific.

My old place of work was scandal central. On of the MD's was sleeping with one of his team whilst married to a lovely woman who also worked for the relatively small company.

Another married MD slept with a junior member of staff who then went on to have a baby (the baby was his spitting image) and said she didn't know who the father was.

A manager left her husband after having an affair with a woman in her team and they are now married.

It was a new scandal daily.

One of the surgeons caught bonking a scrub nurse on the cameras in the 'dirty corridor'! He actually left his wife for her eventually. 25 year age difference.

A colleagues partner stole her corporate credit card from her purse and went on a 4 day bender.

He had bad form for drinking and drugs and a long bender wasn’t unusual but she didn’t notice her corp card had gone so he was withdrawing cash and using it all over for days before it was picked up.

She worked in finance as well so it was very awkward.

So he can go on mumsnet 🤭

Many years ago now the Head of RE got a 15 year old girl pregnant. She later miscarried and he was not allowed to teach in UK again. At the time we had the press outside of school.

The branch manager was having an affair with his deputy and the rumour was they had had a threesome/foursome with the checkouts manager and her husband. It got worse - turns out the branch manager's wife was pregnant and she had been his deputy at a previous role and had they had had an affair whilst his first wife was pregnant 🍿
