What I would like to ask is how exactly do you find so much spare time to chat on these boards about earning between £100k and £250k when you have five children of your own and also what seems must be a very demanding full time job?

I have just one child and a very part time job and this will be about the only 5 minutes I get to luxuriate on the internet?

lol custardo!

Uwilalalalalala · 13/11/2006 10:19

Don't think Xenia will be coming to the Christmas party.

Judy1234 · 13/11/2006 12:29

When's the party? I'm not sure I'd come. I've never been very keen on socialising with women. Most of my close friends are men. Perhaps I'm really a man inside and need a sex change.

Money gives you time to spend relaxed time with children without having to do jobs at the same time. My children are all school age now and that's when life for most people gets a lot easier.

My life is obviously a lot easier than lots of people's but not perfect. In 3 years I've got divorced, my mother's died and my father's ill amongst a lot of things. Those things are difficult however much money you have.

WelshBoris · 13/11/2006 12:30

Come Xenia, Ill talk to you

expatinscotland · 13/11/2006 12:31

Welsh will talk to anyone. She's a club about as exclusive as the White Pages .

WelshBoris · 13/11/2006 12:33

Apart from Americans

I refuse to talk to them

expatinscotland · 13/11/2006 12:33

I've got British nationality as well.

Uwilalalalalala · 13/11/2006 12:40

So, Welsh will not be talking to me then.

Uwilalalalalala · 13/11/2006 12:41

The party is this Saturday at a place called Ruby's, behind Selfridges (in London obviously).

Rhubarb · 13/11/2006 12:42

I'll talk to everyone!

Dunno why your posts are so bad Xenia, but then I couldn't be arsed reading a lot of the posts on that thread, I just chipped in with my own thoughts like I usually do!

Actually no, scrap that, I won't talk to everyone cause unless people buy me drinks I'll stand in a corner sulking.

WelshBoris · 13/11/2006 12:43

no Uwila that was just aimed at Expat

Because she is a public transport whore

expatinscotland · 13/11/2006 12:44

WelshBoris · 13/11/2006 12:46

Cappuccino · 13/11/2006 12:46

am that you are having a damn xmas meet-up so far away from xmas

I'm in London for two weeks in December as well

expatinscotland · 13/11/2006 12:48

I'm still younger than your boyfriend, boris .

GoingQuietlyMad · 13/11/2006 12:52

FWIW Xenia, I don't agree with most of your views, but I admire any single mother with 5 children who can hold down a well paid job.

I wonder how much more/less criticism you would get if you were in a council house and living on benefits.

You just can't seem to win if you are on your own. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. And from what you have described, I agree with you that your children are probably better off with you working and providing them with financial security than if you looked after them yourself.

Money isn't everything, but it does give you choices, which you are lucky to have.

NomDePlume · 13/11/2006 12:54

GQM - I'm not sure that it's criticism that Xenia is getting for her lifestyle. More disbelief that she actually does have the life she purports to have....

FWIW, I have no opinion on you Xenia.

WhizzBangCaligula · 13/11/2006 12:59

LOL at having no opinion on Xenia. Me too X.

GoingQuietlyMad · 13/11/2006 13:35

NdP, Sorry I remember you're right. I did think of putting "If you are real" as a pre-fix.

What does everyone think she is then? A journalist looking for copy? A researcher? A troll? A 15 year old boy?

I think that would be a shame, but you may well be right.

Doh.

blueshoes · 13/11/2006 13:39

Xenia, I happen to think mn is a richer place for having you around. Surely any poster who starts a thread would welcome you on as it would attract at least 500 posts with a lively debate to boot.

I don't have the balls to phrase my posts the way you do nor agree with everything you have said, but I certainly welcome your cutting perspective. You are helluva thickskinned and arrogant - but I like that

Judy1234 · 13/11/2006 14:35

If you've lived in a abusive marriage for years and been hit (not that that's the worst of it by any means) I don't think a few criticisms on line make much difference. Also if you've lived through and surivived getting 3 children through the teenage years, that's quite a process... laughing as I type. It's amazing. Suddenly they emerge at 18 as lovely normal people. I suppose that's why some people ship them off at 13 to boarding schools so they avoid the worst of it.

Saturday will be the hardest day of my year so can't do the party. I'm flying out of London for the day. I've a very very difficult thing to do which has perplexed me for weeks. I could do with some of you praying for me over it.

Uwilalalalalala · 13/11/2006 14:42

Oh goodness, what's on on Saturday? A business challenge? Or personal one?

Uwilalalalalala · 13/11/2006 14:43

Am I nosey or what?

mumblechum · 13/11/2006 14:44

OK you've got us (well, me) interested. What's happening on Sat?

WelshBoris · 13/11/2006 14:45

I think its personal, maybe to do with her ex husband?

Good luck whatever it is, and if you need prayers Ill say one for you this evening
