Pay with Dict8

juju1507 · 09/03/2015 09:19

I have been working s/e with Dict8 for 3 years now and my payment by cheques are arriving later and later. My last cheque arrived 8 days after it was issued and I noticed they are now sending cheques second class. Does anyone else work for Dict8 on here and, if so, are you finding that your cheque is arriving much later than it used to? I have direct debits set up deliberately for the middle of the month in order that my cheque would have cleared in time but now I am worrying that even by 15th of each month the cheque will not have cleared. Sorry for the ramble but just curious if others have noticed this.

@danblack87 mine is more oncology based

Chrissols · 18/06/2020 11:26

Another slow day for me 😥😥😥

carosel2 · 18/06/2020 11:49

same here! Sad - after not a bad day yesterday.

danblack87 · 18/06/2020 12:34

@Carosel2: exactly the same for me

ElleBee56 · 18/06/2020 14:13

TPro have loads of work. The hospital I'm currently working on has over 1300 tasks at the moment, and that's just one of the hospitals they work with!

carosel2 · 18/06/2020 14:22

@ElleBee56 - oh my goodness, hope the guys and gals who originally worked for them before lock-down have lots of work from them now. Smile. Good luck everyone. I applied there before all this, but they didn't get back to me.

Chrissols · 18/06/2020 14:23

@ElleBee56 sadly they aren't taking on new transcribers at the moment

Gally123 · 18/06/2020 14:24

@ElleBee56 - I have been thinking about asking if anyone had heard from TPro recently after they put their recruitment on hold; fingers crossed they might start thinking about it soon as I had an email from HMRC yesterday and I think they have tightened up on who can claim the next lot of SEISS, so I do need to start earning again if there is to be no second pay-out.

ElleBee56 · 18/06/2020 14:49

@carosel2, @Chrissols and @Gally123, I've been working with them for a couple of years now and have only just this week started to get work again after weeks of nothing. They sent an email and did say that by July they're hoping to be back to normal volumes of work so don't give up, stay in contact with them and hopefully, in the next few weeks, they'll be taking more people on. @Gally123 I had an email from HMRC regarding more SEISS webinar dates and it did say the scheme has been extended and if your business has been adversely affected on or after 14 July you'll be able to make a claim in August. If I remember correctly the grant has been reduced, I think to 70%. Hopefully we should be able to make a claim.

Meha5 · 18/06/2020 18:24

I filled out an application online last night for TPro

Gally123 · 18/06/2020 19:40

@ElleBee56 - yes I had the same email, and also did the second webinar and they stressed that people should only claim if they needed to; I note the email says people can claim if they are still adversely affected on or after 14 July - if things magically picked up now we would not be eligible. They also mentioned in the webinar how many thousands of fraudulent claims they had disallowed.
As mentioned earlier in this thread, it is about time DICT8 sent out another email - if TPro can get a large number of letters up on their system when they were down to 0, why can't DICT8? Well, we know why, because they gave their software away....

Meha5 · 19/06/2020 10:02

@Gally123 I agree, an update from DICT8 would be helpful - I did go on the help page and their website but the only info was how they have given their system "free" to the NHS, and as we all know nothing is free in this world so there must be an ulterior motive. Seems to be the business is shifting to supplying the digital service to the NHS with transcription support as a side offering.

Gally123 · 19/06/2020 10:29

@Meha5 - I agree, as mentioned before DICT8 may have given their system free to the NHS for a period of time, as a trial period and if the hospitals are happy having seen the benefits, they can continue to use it, for a small fee, of course.

danblack87 · 19/06/2020 11:14

I just clicked refresh and 45 tasks showed in one specialty. I typed one and less than 1 minute later there was only one task left. Unbelievable Shock. Hmm!!

carosel2 · 19/06/2020 11:48

@danblack87 - how do you know the tasks was from one specialty. If you type for one specialty that's not good. I type for two and this happened to me where I had five shocking dictations that had remained on my list in the same specialty but the others at the back were disappearing rapidly. I can only think they were the other specialty I work with and was being typed by others before I got chance to see one come through on my list, but that wasn't happening as the five bad dictations remained there most of the day, only when one disappeared another fell in to its place and the odd one was either the same (with a better dictator) or the other specialty if you get me.

carosel2 · 19/06/2020 11:50

.... nothing so far today either! Sad

flutterby18 · 19/06/2020 12:18

@danblack87 - I saw that too, thought I was seeing things :(

danblack87 · 19/06/2020 16:13

@Carosel2: 45 waiting to be typed; I typed 2 --- I assumed one specialty (I work for four), when I went back in they were the same speciality and same dictators some had been dropped obviously from the 45?). Hence, same speciality … maybe wrong - ENT has been coming in all day in dribs and drabs since then with a couple of Plastics and none of the other 2 that I type???
@Flutterby: I am not going demented then with cabin fever?

flutterby18 · 19/06/2020 16:25

@danblack87 - There were 46, I typed one and when I came back whoosh they were gone in a matter of seconds Shock

danblack87 · 19/06/2020 16:46

@flutterby18: I assume then that we were both looking at the same Tasks, i.e. for ENT, unless you do plastics as well? It was shockingly quick, double Shock. I am just glad I am not seeing things incorrectly!!! hahaha

carosel2 · 19/06/2020 17:01

@danblack87 - oh that's not good, sounds like something dodgy going on Shock. especially when others are noticing same thing. I haven't had a thing today Sad, but then I only have two specialties but then even if you have more, it sounds like you guy's aren't getting any either. I'm looking into other sources of transcription work that isn't medical; I have done police work in the past. I'm afraid this agency just isn't providing the work anymore to provide enough of an income.

Gally123 · 19/06/2020 17:21

I have multiple specialties but the work is not coming in, only a few tasks at any one time, with a gap of sometimes a couple of hours, although today has been better than last Friday. I am also a little dubious about it picking back up, there was little enough to go around in the first place, hence several of us had applied to TPro before this situation with COVID-19 kicked off. As mentioned by @Meha5 it looks like DICT8 are moving in another direction and not taking us with them.

Chrissols · 25/06/2020 08:58

Everyone is very quiet this week, is that a good sign??

Gally123 · 25/06/2020 09:17

@Chrissols - do you mean hard at work - or out enjoying the sun while they can? I admit to a bit of both, typing when there has been some, and in the sun when there has not - afternoons are still very quiet I am finding.

danblack87 · 25/06/2020 09:43

Mostly out in the garden as very little in the work direction this week at all.
