Pay with Dict8

juju1507 · 09/03/2015 09:19

I have been working s/e with Dict8 for 3 years now and my payment by cheques are arriving later and later. My last cheque arrived 8 days after it was issued and I noticed they are now sending cheques second class. Does anyone else work for Dict8 on here and, if so, are you finding that your cheque is arriving much later than it used to? I have direct debits set up deliberately for the middle of the month in order that my cheque would have cleared in time but now I am worrying that even by 15th of each month the cheque will not have cleared. Sorry for the ramble but just curious if others have noticed this.

@Gally123 - thanks, I will try that, though I am not sure I will qualify as my husband receives a pension and wonder if that will be taken in to account, but thanks for that, anything is a bonus. I will keep you posted to how I get on Smile

@Gally123- Hi unfortunately, can't claim UC either Sad. Thanks anyway for thinking about us guys who can't claim the other.

Gally123 · 04/06/2020 10:17

@carosel2, that's a shame. I am a bit surprised as they particularly mentioned in the webinar that UC had been extended and gave guidelines as to how self-employed people not eligible for SEIS could apply.

Chrissols · 04/06/2020 11:08

@carosel2 I can't get it either 😥

carosel2 · 04/06/2020 11:44

@Gally123 - yes it is a shame, but apparently, they take my husband's pension in to account and any measly savings you have, which for us doesn't account for much, but is obviously over the threshold! I think you have to be really destitute beyond belief to get it. Sad

danblack87 · 04/06/2020 11:46

In regards to further SEIS I have not had a letter or e-mail yet so perhaps I am not eligible this time around? I really do not understand the in's and out's of it all so I will just wait and see. I am sorry for those who appear to be stuck in a cleft with only minimal work available. It must be a terrible situation.

Gally123 · 04/06/2020 12:19

@danblack87 - I had another email yesterday inviting me to sign up for another webinar after I had attended; they now have more dates available so you could look online and see. As far as I am aware people who were eligible for the first part of the scheme are also eligible for the second part, if they are still affected, and if you are not eligible it does give alternatives such as UC. If you have a free moment (!) you could look online and check out dates/times for the webinars.

danblack87 · 04/06/2020 13:26

@gally123: Plenty of time to look online, I suppose I could put my paint brush down and take a look! … it's just that I am a complete technophobe LOL

juju1507 · 05/06/2020 08:59

I see they are not hurrying with the cheques again this month! Angry

@juju my cheque arrived yesterday, I actually thought it was really quick. Must just be doing a few at a time

juju1507 · 05/06/2020 12:02

@Chrissols that's interesting! I've emailed them to ask them if they have received it. This is the problem every month, because of their antiquated system of snail mail, I am always wondering whether they have received my invoice or not. I'm not holding my breath for a reply though...

my cheque has not arrived yet but I posted it late and expect it will come on Monday/Tuesday.

smiffypeabrain · 05/06/2020 14:38

Mine has been processed but not received yet. Might be worth to keep checking your payment history

Chrissols · 05/06/2020 19:04

Well that’s another week done......does anyone ever get tasks over the weekend?

danblack87 · 06/06/2020 11:05

I sometimes see work at the weekend: in fact last Saturday there were some and Sunday I did 3.

danblack87 · 07/06/2020 14:39

I caught a task yesterday (06/06/2020) and a fair few today (07/06/2020) -- but I do not sit at the keyboard refreshing at weekends (just click as and when I pass the computer) LOL There are other things to do!

carosel2 · 08/06/2020 18:37

Had quite a few tasks showing today..... unfortunately, most of them inaudible! Why on earth don't the doctors listen to their dictation and realise just how bad they sound. I do hope this isn't going to the be the norm again.....

Chrissols · 08/06/2020 19:19

@carosel2 I had a few bad ones today, I thought it was my headphones

carosel2 · 08/06/2020 20:14

@Chrissols - im sure it wasnt your headphones. Its the same three doctors. They do it all the time. The tasks kept being taken by other transcribers and being put back. Some of them remained on my list for most of the day as they kept being returned. These doctors are regulars so you would think someone would highlight this issue. They havn't been on for a while but are now sending transcriptions in. I think I earned more with refreshing my button all day as those letters didnt block the odd good one coming in. Today Ive had to wait until they made room for the odd decent one coming in. It is so damn frustrating

danblack87 · 09/06/2020 10:34

I had a good day yesterday too … most were fair/clear dictations the odd few were very difficult to understand.

Chrissols · 09/06/2020 10:44

@danblack87 sounds like your speciality/s are picking up......hope the rest soon follow

danblack87 · 09/06/2020 12:34

When I said I had a good day yesterday I typed nine (but I saw a lot more) and 'dropped' a considerable few too because they were just to time consumingly difficult to listen to, but weekends have picked up slightly (so, bonus: except I don't sit at the computer at weekends like in the week … you have to have some time to do other things don't you?). Last week I saw a definite increase in tasks. Same scenario as today though, you have to be real quick to catch them but the work is definitely on the increase I believe Hmm.

Meha5 · 10/06/2020 11:05

I have been typing regularly for the last few days now and have noticed some are backdated letters !! The dictation is not great and I can only presume the secretaries at the other end feel the same LOL

Chrissols · 10/06/2020 11:22

I cant seem to get a task today.....

Gally123 · 10/06/2020 11:54

I have had a good couple of days, esp in the mornings, (good for the current situation only, not back to 'normal' amount of typing) but today is back to very little.
