Pay with Dict8

juju1507 · 09/03/2015 09:19

I have been working s/e with Dict8 for 3 years now and my payment by cheques are arriving later and later. My last cheque arrived 8 days after it was issued and I noticed they are now sending cheques second class. Does anyone else work for Dict8 on here and, if so, are you finding that your cheque is arriving much later than it used to? I have direct debits set up deliberately for the middle of the month in order that my cheque would have cleared in time but now I am worrying that even by 15th of each month the cheque will not have cleared. Sorry for the ramble but just curious if others have noticed this.

@Chrisolls: It is bank holiday this week but I have my fingers X'd that nobody will be going anywhere due to virus and so perhaps they will instigate more video/tel cons??
You can but hope.

Gally123 · 22/05/2020 13:56

I've been spending some time in between typing the odd task looking at holiday websites, hoping I can book something soon, it would be nice to get away for a few days (and have someone else do the cooking etc). At the moment just a dream though, but I can look at a few places in readiness.

danblack87 · 22/05/2020 14:07

@Gally123: Touche, I have been looking too and just completed my shopping on line for me and my neighbour Smile

Chrissols · 23/05/2020 13:16

I had a holiday booked for next week, cancelled, re-booked for October, no idea if it will go ahead. It's the third time we have booked it as booked first time with Thomas Cook, they went bust to had to book with Tui, then had to cancel due to the current situation.......so booked again with Tui and living in hope........

Meha5 · 23/05/2020 13:38

IMO these video consultations don't seem to be going that well. Has anyone else done tasks where the doctors are continually spelling out medical words/drugs (and spelling them wrong sometimes : 0 ) I recognise their voices, as they have been dictating for years, and don't usually do this ?

Chrissols · 23/05/2020 13:48

@Meha5 I've found them to be okay, just not enough of them unfortunately......

Gally123 · 23/05/2020 14:39

@Meha5 - I have had doctors spell things wrong, one woman does constantly, I always cover myself with a note how the doctor has dictated it but I have spelt it differently as we are supposed to follow doctors directions. I also check when they spell out other doctors names as they are often wrong and as we know the proof readers are only too keen to prove we have made an error.

@Chrissols - I hope you get your holiday. I want to book for September but will try for October otherwise; I find November too late for a 'summer' holiday and I hate the extremes of temperature coming back to a cold house, plus of course a holiday in November means reduced pay cheque for December (and Christmas...)

DICT8 and James have been quiet recently; about time we had another email telling us everything is fine and work should pick up...I bet his pocket is feeling the pinch with lack of revenue.

Meha5 · 23/05/2020 14:59

@Gally123 - I do exactly the same in the note box :))) and yes was wondering when our next DICT8 update would be too hopefully the one where James tells us that he has his equipment back

danblack87 · 23/05/2020 15:01

Hi all. I have not heard any dr's spelling out anything - doesn't happen very often if they do. BTW I have had a better day today than yesterday … Shock in fact I have earnt more already than I earnt for the whole of yesterday, it is weird!!!

danblack87 · 23/05/2020 15:01

I agree that it is about time we heard something from Dict8 about the ongoing situation.

Chrissols · 23/05/2020 16:44

@danblack87 gosh you are lucky finding tasks today, I have given up now with weekends as never find a single task.
@Gally123 I agree about November being a bit later for a ‘summer’ holiday, but I am not banking on our October one going ahead yet

Chrissols · 24/05/2020 14:35

@Gally123 it's sounding a lot more hopeful for holidays now (apart from the quarantine)

Gally123 · 24/05/2020 15:18

@Chrissols yeah but we work from home so should be doable. And who knows what the situation might be in a couple of months' time? Cannot be worse, sun and fresh air must help.

Chrissols · 24/05/2020 15:41

@Gally123 yes quarantine is okay if it's only this way, was thinking more at the other end. Having said that, I am certainly a lot more optimistic now......have just ordered a new suitcase 😎😎😎😎

Gally123 · 24/05/2020 17:15

@Chrissols - Yes, I think countries want tourists to return - they need the income, so does this country, hence one country I forget which, Serbia or Croatia or somewhere similar is giving incentives to their people to holiday in their own country. The only problem might be sky high insurance policies.....

Chrissols · 25/05/2020 11:48

@Gally123 Just went to check insurance quote I got last week, and you're right, it has gone up already so bought it to be sure of not paying even more, it had gone up from £23 to £41 for the same trip, and of course does not insure for covid-19. Wanted to get an annual one but can't buy them till less than 30 days before you want them to start so by the time I could get it the price will have probably doubled again 😧

Chrissols · 27/05/2020 17:20

How's everyone's day been......mine has been quiet to say the least

Gally123 · 27/05/2020 17:59

Dreadful day, worst I think for some time and that's saying something. Yesterday was better in the morning (though not the afternoon) and I thought things were picking up, but today, hardly a thing.

Chrissols · 27/05/2020 18:16

@Gally123 it has been dismal hasn't it, very depressing....

danblack87 · 28/05/2020 09:34

I saw a few yesterday morning and on Tuesday, but still dismal ...

Chrissols · 28/05/2020 09:41

It's very strange, Wednesday last week was my best day in months, like it used to be, then Wednesday this week was my worst day ever....

homeworkmum · 28/05/2020 09:54

I find the mornings slow but seem to manage more in the afternoons

Gally123 · 28/05/2020 10:47

@Chrissols - how did you manage to get travel insurance? In the (large) breaks in typing I have been looking and everywhere says they have suspended selling travel insurance until the FO says it is safe to travel. Moneysupermarket took some details as it said that holidays booked after 12 May could be covered but after I filled in the form it came up with nothing and the other places (such as Asda that I have used a few times, Go compare and Compare the market) just say they are not selling as travel is not advised, even for the future.

Chrissols · 28/05/2020 10:51

@Gally123 here is the file path for the insurance company I used - travelinsurance.brokersure.com

Meha5 · 28/05/2020 11:00

Yesterday was my best day since lockdown !
