Student Health Visitor Interview!!

1000 replies

chewie29 · 16/04/2012 14:56

Hi all.
I am currently a staff nurse on maternity leave and I have been very lucky, I have managed to get an interview for a Student Health Visitor Post tomorrow. Has anyone any advice they can give me for the actual interview? I am stressing as it is something I have wanted to do for a long time! I have send by little man over to his nans this afternoon so I can concentrate, I have just been getting more stressed as the day goes on. I have been preparing for the interview for some time but I'm worried my nerves will ruin it for me! Any advice or tips would be great. Thank you.

Thanks Mondaybabe.I certainly will chase it up tomorrow, just today the woman I spoke to was quick to reassure me that they were trying to work something out. It's a nightmare and have no idea how long this will go on for and it also clearly says we are not guaranteed placements so it could all come to nothing and I just don't understand given they are holding assessments and interviews for the January intake in the next few weeks.

Mondaybaby · 14/10/2013 19:30

I don't comprehend that at all either.

Biddyshegs · 14/10/2013 20:38

I think they are disorganised. Guess what... I received another email from LD today to say ipassed my interview and I have been offered a place with lsbu. I am soo confused as I do not knw wht to do now. Have got my mind prepared for being at home til I have my babies. Now this.
Talked to hubby and he suggested I decline it cos it Wud be too stressful with new born and I dnt knw if they will allow me defer. Craziness. They really need to make up their minds. Why do u think guys?

Biddyshegs · 14/10/2013 20:39

I am goin to call them tomorrow again to confirm which is their decision out of th two! They re messing up my system here. #heavysigh!!!!

Biddyshegs · 14/10/2013 20:41

It gets more insane @ Biddy.Something is horrendously wrong with this whole system.

Biddyshegs · 15/10/2013 08:20

I know right ladies. The only option I have now is to turn them down for now. (Even tho I badly want it, but family first). Bt still going to call to confirm their decision first...

Zek99 · 15/10/2013 10:58

Congrats BIDDYshegs. Call them and let us know what the outcome is x

young12 · 15/10/2013 12:31

@Biddyshegs; i think there is nothing to clarify with LD, it is simply a miracle. if you really want it badly i think you should differ your place for sept start. all the best with your decision.
yes i passed

Happy1nurse · 16/10/2013 09:40

Has anyone heard from Northampton? From interviews last week?? I don't think I did it. But never know. /)

Happy1nurse · 16/10/2013 09:43

Hi lpool123 for me it's easy I have dyslexia and it is my weekness. But if I didn't I would say, I find it difficult to say no! Because as a caring professionals we always try to do everything. x good luck. I was asked that on both interviews.

Happy1nurse · 16/10/2013 09:45

Mcespi1 Where did you apply?? Well done by the way. It's so hard x

Shazmap · 16/10/2013 13:41

I'm still waiting on Northampton. Had interview last week and I'm sure they said around Monday/Tuesday. I applied to Derby as well. Hope I get interview

Blue2109 · 16/10/2013 18:52

Hi mondaybaby, what was the numeracy and essay like at Derby ?

Blue2109 · 16/10/2013 19:53

Hi Shaznap did u get an interview at Derby Uni?

Mondaybaby · 16/10/2013 20:15

Hi Blue, I did the exams in London not Derby. But they were very similar to the practice papers that were sent with the general info about the assessment centers. So long as you practice, especially the numeracy, you'll be ok. Look at the bbc maths website which I found useful for revising technique. As for literacy- I found that more pressured but I made sure I wrote something for every question and left no blanks. There was one question I found really hard and couldn't find details in the text so just wrote what I felt to be the correct answer and I got 100% when the results came back. I was so surprised!

Shazmap · 17/10/2013 13:42

Haven't heard anything from Derby Blue2109. Have u?

Lpool123 · 17/10/2013 13:59

Thanks happy1nurse had interview yesterday and waiting for the phone call now! Xx

Blue2109 · 18/10/2013 18:14

Shaznap no I haven't heard anything .

Blue2109 · 18/10/2013 18:17

Mondaybaby what sort of things did they ask u in the literacy test ? And also at the interview.
