Student Health Visitor Interview!!

1000 replies

chewie29 · 16/04/2012 14:56

Hi all.
I am currently a staff nurse on maternity leave and I have been very lucky, I have managed to get an interview for a Student Health Visitor Post tomorrow. Has anyone any advice they can give me for the actual interview? I am stressing as it is something I have wanted to do for a long time! I have send by little man over to his nans this afternoon so I can concentrate, I have just been getting more stressed as the day goes on. I have been preparing for the interview for some time but I'm worried my nerves will ruin it for me! Any advice or tips would be great. Thank you.

Pheew,a bit too late for me to call.Wish I has thought about it.We shouldn't have to scream and shout for our results though, should we?

Mulberry06 · 11/10/2013 17:22

Well done Mondaybaby,it was well worth making a fuss..u get to have a stress free weekend.

Mondaybaby · 11/10/2013 18:21

Thanks Mulberry. Yes- I couldn't bear another weekend of waiting. I'm relieved to know. I hope you find out on Monday.

Elisababe · 11/10/2013 18:42

Well done mondaybaby

Mondaybaby · 11/10/2013 18:59

Thanks Elisa. Are you going to reapply?

Mcespi1 · 11/10/2013 19:33

I know I should be patient but would just like to know so I can make child care plans etc... Really don't know who to call, called LD yesterday and today and they cud not help. I applied to Lsbu but my trust is north east London foundation trust...anyone heard from their trusts?

Mcespi1 · 11/10/2013 19:38

Congrats mondaybaby, I guess I was too nice and polite on the phone...;-( would have loved to know as my bday is Sunday...ohwell till Monday I guess.x

hairymonkey · 11/10/2013 19:44

I am swotting up loads and a friend of a friend who has completed the course has given me some pointers as to topics and bits they're into in this trust if that makes sense!

Mondaybaby · 11/10/2013 21:01

Thanks Mcspei. I was polite on the phone but just kept saying that it was too much to expect it's too wait another weekend especially when I'd been told we would have heard by the end of this week. I practically begged them to tell me something and I probably sounded a tad hysterical! A nice chap called Tim was very helpful.
How old is your child/children?

Biddyshegs · 12/10/2013 01:33

Mcespi1 · 12/10/2013 07:31

My daughter is 2yrs 9mths and expecting a baby boy in 8weeks...;-(

Zek99 · 12/10/2013 15:07

Mecespi1 a baby boy in 8 weeks congrats! I applied to kings college london uni and guys and st Thomas for placement... No response yet if I get a place. I did put lsbu and north east london foundation trust as my second preference... Maybe kings college don't want me as someone was contacted from guys and st Thomas and got offered a place... Maybe north east london foundation trust is taking it's time!

Elisababe · 14/10/2013 10:12

@mondaybaby may be am not sure for now

Mulberry06 · 14/10/2013 17:23

After another day of waiting amid unanswered phone calls to that 2-5pm LD number I then received an email at about 1640 congratulating me on passing my interviews,yet!!!..or so I thought, scrolled down then it said the trusts I listed haven't got te capacity to offer me a placement! Was given a list my preferences yet again from 1 to 19,inclusive of the trusts that turned me down-confused.com!...so called the LD and fortunately this time someone picked up and I obviously wasn't the first to highlight this lack of clarity to them and they were quick to say they wil be in touch again shortly as they are trying to figure out how best to resolve the issue,pheeew...more waiting!!!

Mulberry06 · 14/10/2013 17:26

Yey!!! ..I meant.

Zek99 · 14/10/2013 17:28

Mulberry06 same with me!! Which trusts did you apply for? We all applied for different ones! How are we going to be offered places when the apications for jan closed today with fresh new people wanting a place? This is a bloody joke! Are you going to fill in the form with preferences? It does not look good for those who have applied and will be having assessments in 2 weeks!

Zek99 · 14/10/2013 17:29

Maybe they should include the trusts that have places... Not the ones we have applied for and knowing there is no way we would have a placement there.

Mulberry06 · 14/10/2013 17:38

You can say that again!Yes they have the audacity to even extend the application window, implying they need more candidates to apply, yet they cannot accomodate the current lot of applicants. It is a joke, the whole system is messed up!
I applied to Croydon and Sutton and Merton.
