I've been following this case for a while; it's so sad. Could we do something - a woolly hug or some yarn bombing? Someone has posted in the 'In The News' topic, saying it's Nazanin's 'wool' wedding anniversary coming up.

Hello. I’m Nazanin’s sister in law and came across this thread. It would be such a kind and wonderful thing to do. We need so much help and support from the public to continue making Nazanin’s and Gabriella’s plight know. In a couple of weeks, Ricky and Naz’s wedding anniversary, we plan to highlight Richards separation from Nazanin by attaching a padlock and knotted wool to a London bridge. Just seen on Facebook that WoollyHugs have gone on hols until 5th September. Could we maybe use this thread to express support for Nazanin and commit to contributing to a project if WH decides to go ahead?

I'm definitely up for lots of squares if it's a blanket we're doing, or anything else they may be able to do.

How much of a yarn bomb can be organised to support the family, on the 14th? (Am afraid I am not near London, so am unable to help do it. Maybe I could take part in other ways though, if there are enough people willing to go and get this done.)

I wish I could do more. In the meantime, can we all share Elsa's link on Facebook, Twitter etc? When Knotty and Pistey are back from their hols they will hopefully see this and we can send a woolly hug to Nazanin and/or her daughter.

Elsa, if we did something like that, do you think it would make it to Iran? Are the delivery services etc reliable there or could someone deliver it by hand do you know?

I'm sending slsa lots of yarn for the yarn storm on the 14th. Maybe elsa (or some others local to her, who she knows, and can get to London) can organise some preparatory lengths of chain stitch, or whatever seems best.

Elsa the lovely ladies in the Post Office were moved to tears by Nazarin's plight. They helped me send this lot to you as a 'consignment' so it should arrive on Monday. Hope that's ok! They wish her all the very best. They also said it needs to get better press, as they had not heard if this.

Agreed, twofingers word needs to get out! Sadly, it's too big a risk to wait until knotty and pistey get back.

TwofingersGideon - That is such a lovely thought and it would be great to be able to get it to Nazanin and Gabby. Delivery services are terrible and completely unreliable but my father in law has applied for a visa to go out there and would be able to hand deliver them. Yes please share the petition on facebook and twitter (#freenazanin.com) - www.freenazanin.com. It will give Naz a great deal of hope knowing so many people are thinking and caring about her and Gabby.

PeaceOfWildThings - I have just seen your message. How very kind. I guess as we are in the thick of it we see alot of press coverage but it is good
to know we need to do more and I will certainly raise it with the family and see what we can do. Things like this are ideal for spreading the word. A huge thank you to your post office ladies.

I look up Nazanin's case every day - I used to live in West Hampstead and feel weirdly close to it given that I also have a toddler her age. Can't bear thinking what she's going through. Are you guys doing anything I can help with? I am putting up posters advertising petition in cafes near where I work...

elsa - I know a month has passed since I last posted - I'd heard knotty and pistey were away. Are you still checking this thread? If we can make something, will we be able to get it to Nazanin now she's been sentenced?

What we'd like to do if at all possible is get a kinship hug blanket to her, one to her daughter too. We may need some help making a couple of squares, will need to check.

Elsa - I see hand delivery might be an option and clearly this will be the way to do this. Do you think we can get a blanket to Nazanin? Will she be allowed to keep it?
