I've been following this case for a while; it's so sad. Could we do something - a woolly hug or some yarn bombing? Someone has posted in the 'In The News' topic, saying it's Nazanin's 'wool' wedding anniversary coming up.

KnottyandPistey yes, the pale rose square is Stylecraft, it's for Nazanin's Kinship hug, if it got there in time (or other kinship hug if not).

We do need to get construction under way, is there anyone on here who would like to undertake one of the two blankets?

We do have a crew of folk happy to undertake construction, happy to help out here too, just wondering.

I'd be delighted to take one on - but it would need to be January onwards as I am currently literally knee deep in a project for church. What's the timescale on this one? I know the political/diplomatic efforts are super urgent for obvious reasons (hunger strike). The whole family must be suffering awfully.

Very quick update here

We have sorted two kits using the beautiful squares and they are ready for joining, Gideon is doing the one for Naz and a lovely called Sarah is going the other for Gabby.

Naz's will be joined in grape and Gabby's raspberry

Our time frame is Jan 2nd, Gideon is in touch with Naz's DH Richard so blankets are going to be sent to his mum, and then onto him. He is hoping to get over to Iran, or will send them.

So it is all coming together, thank you everyone

Lovely news! I so hope that Richard can get over to Iran.

He also told me in his message that yesterday he had a call from the Ambassador. I didn't want to probe for detail, but think this is a hopeful sign in terms of diplomatic efforts beginning...

Oh I really do hope so. This needs a happy ending very, very soon. The family are in my thoughts a lot.

Lovely Sarah has finished the blanket for Gabby and it is utterly beautiful, thank you so much to her.

The blanket for Naz is being put together by lovely Gideon over the Christmas hols, and we are still on for our target of January 2nd.
