TLDR version: Sandie Peggie vs Royal College of Nursing is currently being heard. The hearing started on Wednesday 23 September 2026 and is scheduled to end on Thursday 1 October 2026.

Sandie Peggie, a nurse at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy (VH), brought claims in the employment tribunal against her employer; Fife Health Board (the Board) and another employee, Dr B Upton. Ms Peggie’s claims were of sexual harassment, harassment related to a protected belief, indirect discrimination and victimisation. Dr Upton claimed to be a transwoman, that is observed as male at birth but asserting a female gender identity.

The Employment Tribunal hearing started on Monday 3 February 2025 and after a prolonged process judgment was handed down on 8 December 2025. That judgment is being appealed and an appeal hearing is expected to take place in 2027.

Additional legal claims have been raised. Sandie Peggie is taking action against the Royal College of Nursing, against three senior managers who were witnesses in the employment tribunal - Dr Kate Searle, Dr Maggie Currer and Esther Davidson, against Carol Potter, the chief executive of NHS Fife, for victimisation, against NHS Fife for discrimination, and against its director of people and culture David Miller for harassment. In addition, Sandie Peggie is being investigated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council over fitness to practice.

Is Naomi saying the earth is NOT flat?

But it is!!!

I must get Grok to have a sit down chat with you this evening.

(The internet tells me grok is an informal verb that means to understand something completely and intuitively, as if by empathy or a profound, personal connection. Ignore a chatbot with the same name)

Guide and Groom may be able to help, too.

I'm truly at a loss as to how they think they properly supported Sandie. They are admitting by their answers that they didn't even understand the law OR what Sandie's issues were.

Would they get away with incompetence though as a defence. ie. were they incompetent rather than discriminatory? Although Naomi is doing a good job of teasing out that this is an insitutionally discriminatory organisation.

From TT:

should be raised on behalf of all f (87%) members. SP gave evidence of colleagues who disagreed re men changing in f cr but too fearful to speak out. Making it very clear that SP needs not individual negotiations with her managers but union to employer to make sure all their f right protected.
GT I was support SP. We work in partnership, SWAG etc, all members get looked after under that.
NC Pages from website - RCN has gone further in contributing to culture in fear, difficult to raise qs
GT Never come across any members raising concerns.

If I understand the timeline......by the time that GT became Sandie's case worker, at least part one of the Tribunal v Fife & Dr U. And GT says that she doesn't know what TERF means, in fact knows nothing about the gender critical debate.

It's just not plausible.

If the judge decides this witness was credible and truthful I'll lose all faith in legal justice.

I suspect it was much worse as o think it was something he had posted on Bluesky

We may yet have the dubious pleasure of seeing the image if NW had access to the bundle at lunchtime.

I wonder if it was the sex dungeon photos?

That was my fear….

From TT:

GT Hundreds of members who get support from us.
NC MG says RCN should support members with GC belief. Like the unwavering support for members with GI beliefs.
GT I dispute that.
NC To docs. Progress pride flag from NHS scotland

(I'm back but I'm afraid I had an accident while out and am - though not badly hurt - shocked and banged up. I won't be doing any more c&p today, sorry.)

I'm very sorry to read this. I hope you recover completely very soon.

Should you be watching this while lying down?

I am
catching up and have a question that might need brain bleach. The photo of Fred Wallace, was it of his beefy thigh/bollock?

I've been told it's way, way worse than that.

FarriersGirl · 29/09/2026 15:12

From TT:
NC It's ubiquitous
GT What do you mean
NC It's everywhere
GT It's in this email.
NC [reads] SP requiring NHS fife for sss cr before returns to work. Just re SP
GT It's an individual case. No other members had come forward to me so yes, repping SP here

YouCanCallMeMonster · 29/09/2026 15:13

Oh Gillian DON’T!!!

GT: No members raised anything

that IS the culture of fear ffs!!

Did you have any left, after reading the judgement in Sandie Peggie v NHF Fife & Dr Upton in any of its iterations?

CriticalCondition · 29/09/2026 15:14

She's going to say grey area isn't she.

MarieDeGournay · 29/09/2026 15:14

Boiledbeetle · 29/09/2026 15:07

I wonder if it was the sex dungeon photos?

No it was just his lemon shortbread😁

YouCanCallMeMonster · 29/09/2026 15:14

Will NC go there?!!

Appalonia · 29/09/2026 15:14

She is infuriating.

FarriersGirl · 29/09/2026 15:16

From TT:

NC DM replies finally. Waffles c comprehensive review and EIA and then mentions sss cr for bio w. Says its complicated and ongoing undertaking but will comply with legal requirements. talking nonsense- already have sss facilities, just need to tell staff need to use correct facs
GT My take is DM - complex to ensure covering all PCs.
NC SC has said ss facilities need to be ss. May need extra facilities, but easy to say no one can use facilities for opp sex
GT []
NC He says sss for w available.
GT Re sss cr and toilets yes, i offer call to SP make sure she knew c my rep

Did you have any left, after reading the judgement in Sandie Peggie v NHF Fife & Dr Upton in any of its iterations?

My faith is bolstered somewhat by having had two tribunals myself, for different things, and the judge found in my favour both times!
