Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

Some clarity in how the trans movement became so embedded, so preeminent

Despite being called a conspiracist here by a TRA, actually I work very hard to continually interrogate my thought processes, and not fall into easy generalisations etc.
So, I was reading Róisín Michaux and her fascinating conversation with someone high up in HIV funding, and the push in the last 20 years is to get everyone in the tent on retrovirals, meaning reaching out to not just gays and addicts, but sex workers (incl trans) and critically, the "third genders" who have migrated to the West in large numbers to end up as sex workers. And the decision was made to go for maximum anti stigmatization, which means zero messaging on personal behaviour, and critically deciding to accept these men as women. Don't blame them, get more onside.
Guess who has to move aside, and accept the messaging on health grounds that biological men can be women? Made even worse by the increase in HIV in European women who are the partners of men who use the services of these "third genders".
Then yesterday I read the amazing post from Hellofabore about how for 30 years plus, the sports authorities including IOC and FIFA decided to make total inclusion the policy, phasing out gender testing, primarily to allow the male DSDs from Africa mainly to be included, as they were IDd as female at birth, and the cruelty to deny they're still female is wrong.
Again, the overwhelming need is to not stigmatize these individuals. Of course a huge group (we know who) are stigmatized for objecting to losing sports opportunities.
And then back to Róisín Michaux again, her illuminating the revolution in psychiatric medicine, where men back in the day were diagnosed with transvestic disorder, a pure paraphylia, again to stop judging and be more inclusive, underwent massive de-stigmatisation and de-pathologisation, from paraphylia, to dysphoria, now to common all garden "sexual health category".
Three enormous areas where the drive to include men, to destigmatise their plight, to bring them in from the cold, couldn't happen in a vacuum. Society organised along sex-based lines couldn't be simply recategorised, no, a large population group (51% XX) was expected to move over, make their definition porous, extend the collective hand of kindness and inclusion, to this hardcore of men who were deemed most at risk, and needing most help.
At the same time, this blurring of definitions and imposed inclusivity spread from sport and medicine to law and education, the most motivated men worked hard to get the Gender Recognition Act on the statute book, and via Stonewall culture, "social training" and the "trans child" escalated as concepts and then real world consequences as noone in polite society other than a very brave few said anything.
So now we have developing nations male DSDs and "third genders", socially incorporated transvestites/transsexuals, and queer culture first world transgenders in the mix, a political culture in the West frozen into aquiescence and policy drift, and the only light of realism and sanity, an army of women fighting back, with amazing results re SC ruling, banishing self ID into the long grass, and medical and sports bodies tacking back to sanity.
But reading the almost scary analogousness of how health brought in trans and third genders at the expense of women, sport brought in male DSDs at the expense of women, psychiatry brought in transvestites from the cold at the expense of women, you can then see how the most motivated men got the Gender Recognition Act on the statute book to turbo charge the social trans/trans child revolution.
For me, I can now see the past as it travels into the future.

You demonstrate with every reply that you know very little about our situation and what has led up to where we are now. May I advise you to stop trying to give advice about a situation and people you do not understand.

I'm only responding to what you post. If you don't want to continue the conversation , I ofc have no motivation/ wish for perusing it; I wish you the best, and your child.

murasaki · 29/09/2026 20:40

Lacksie, please can you answer my question? I'm interested to hear your view.

This is just a crackers fantasy though isn't it? about how society, words, history will collapse because of the bad boogie man "Genderist". It has nothing to do with the world we are living in at all.

Yes, your description “crackers fantasy” sums up your unconvincing gendered soul ideology well.

Can we designate "moral panic" a dog whistle for not interested in listening to women?

I mostly read it as that anyway, it’s normally used for it.

Pingponghavoc · 29/09/2026 20:55

No one comes to the conclusion that they are really the opposite sex on their own. Its something that's been promoted in schools and in the media.

But it has no depth to it, so its difficult to talk to people who believe gender/queer theory. They can only say that they are trans because they feel trans. They are more comfortable presenting as the opposite sex.

That in itself doesnt matter - presenting as the opposite sex is just fashion choice.

But its not just that. Its a pathways of name and pronoun changes, drugs and surgery. Its children being allowed to live a fantasy where, if they are happy doing it, the next stage is drugs and surgery, if it isnt what they imagined, the solution is drugs and surgery. Any parent who is the least bit cautious is treated as the enemy. Any parent who isn't is potentially leading then down the pathway.

There are a lot of people saying that trans is real, while being unable to articulate to sceptics what it is. They tell children whatever they feel - thats trans, that parents should believe and if the parents arent supportive, they can get support from them.

So anyone telling patents just chat to their child and listen either doesnt understand the issue or is a fool.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 29/09/2026 22:10

Exactly @Pingponghavoc - it has zero depth or credibility.

I think that you are getting Lacksie mixed up with Alcove.

Ah possibly. There are so many men on here claiming to be feminists or "as GC as they come (but you're all horrible bigots)"
It's hard to keep up sometimes.

It's a bugger isn't it. You have my sympathy.

Oh I'm an ardent feminist. But no I'm not a "gender critical" one.

A feminist who doesn't understand the historical (and current) oppression of women?
Mmmkay

Yeah, one of those fourth wave intersectional feminists who are angry about MVAWG but include males in their definition of females. I despair.

These are two assumptions that you have started from that are just completely inconsistent with the reality of what gender incongruence is.

These are your beliefs about the condition based on a lack of insight/ understanding. you are presenting these claims as factual and then drawing on them to form the rest of your conclusions.

So do please enlighten us, without reference to any external sources, as you have dismissed those, explain what “trans” is.

I didn't see what it was so wasn't me that reported

I suggested that having made gender fluid a part of normal society then the plus bit of the rainbow acronym will possibly look for age to be fluid next.

I did not accuse you of reporting it.

I see. I don't know why that would be deleted.

i know you didn't accuse me of reporting it- I just wanted to clarify.

You know what being trans is.
you've just decided that it must be always be superficial "ideology" and "stereotypes", imposed externally.
you refuse to consider that for many it could be a real , natural, neurocognitive / psychological experience that comes from within a person.

There's nothing I can say to you that will dislodge your assumptions, because you are fully determined of their certainty.

BlueLegume · 30/09/2026 07:01

Because trans is a fantasy @Lacksie it relies on everyone going along with a lie

But the only data you could you is sometimes “feelings” in that case isn’t it? So are you saying we should allow some males into female spaces on the basis of “feelings”?

But what if it's not a fantasy and a lie? What if it's a real condition?

So then there would be medical evidence wouldn’t there? But there is none

What makes you believe there is no medical evidence? Thats an extraordinary claim/ belief to hold.

So post the medical evidence? A positive test for “trans”. Not the debunked brain studies, but an actual medical test to prove someone is trans or not.

There is absolutely zero evidence that it is a neurocognitive/psychological condition.

But even if it were. A man suffering from this condition would still be a man. His sex would still not change. So still zero justification for allowing him into women’s spaces.

We have been told often enough that “trans” is not a mental or psychological condition, so any evidence must exclude those @Lacksie
