The Green Party and the word ‘female’

Omnicause veteran Eli Folan (who tweets as Stats for Lefties) has been elected to the Green Party’s governing council. Eli, as they tell us twice, is a ‘female’ rep. I don’t know whether this phrasing is the Green’s or is Eli’s special contribution.

It's also worth keeping an eye on the UK/Greens subreddit. I usually pop into Reddit to see what craziness is happening on the UK/trans subreddit but stumbled across the Green one yesterday.

That seems to be TRA central too. There are a couple of threads about the stunning Bristol and London councils bravely ignoring the transphobic EHRC guidance.

If you scroll down this thread, you'll see that someone is planning to try and take over Green Party Women (currently GC).

There will probably be all sorts of plotting over there when it gets closer to Conference.

Great comment on that thread
So that a bunch of men with mental health issues can tell women what to do and explain to them what a woman really is. It's called misogyny but you're all too up yourselves to know what a bunch of loons you look like.
😂

Farage and Polanski are as extremist and dangerous as each other. They have more in common than either of them would like to believe.

Absolutely agree

Sounds like FWR needs a thread while the Green Party Conference is on so we dont miss every twist and turn.

Maybe @fromorbit could be out special correspondence.

Yes, the Green Party Conference will definitely need its own thread. There's going to be a lot happening.

They haven't announced the details yet but I have heard that Green Party Women have been successful in their application for a fringe event (official Special Interest Groups used to be able to ask for 1 or 2 slots as some had their AGM at Conference and then a 2nd members' meeting; the SIGs were automatically given the number of slots they requested and could put the details on a shared timetable themselves. Because this Conference will be very big, SIGs aren't guaranteed a slot and are allocated days and times by the Conference commitee).

GPW have a guest speaker who will be appearing via zoom. I haven't heard who the speaker is but the last few GPW webinars have wound up the TRAs so it will be interesting when we do hear.

How do you work that one out - they are poles apart !

There will be plenty of reports/tweets coming out during conference. Keep an eye on the ongoing sexist Greens threads. We had posts during previous conferences. Only I think this clearly will be on another level.

Just catching up with this thread and read the blue link here as " sex is mother issues in the green party" which got me really intrigued and deciding to bookmark that link to go back & read the clever Mumsnet psychoanalysis of Oedipal issues behind all the TRA/ Green party shenanigans 😂.

They are both populist demagogues with scant regard for the truth. The main difference is that Farage is by far the more shrewd politician.

Because populism has its own dynamics and immorality, regardless of whether it is on the left or the right.

What is odd about Zack is that he is upfront about his populism, calling for the greens to be 'a populist party'. It seems weird to say out loud 'Yeah, I think we should be building our success, not on principles or policy, but on the worst herd instincts of mass politics, aided and abetted by the insanities of social media.'

So someone has made a complaint.

This is how the GP operates. Constant complaints and suspensions. Months while investigations go on - and they are overwhelmed because the process is used as a way to attack.

Very tedious. He needs to be removed from the position.

they have lots in common, both see women as inferior, both view women’s rights as expendable. Both are corrupt, both are batshit crazy abd both would sell their own mother to get into power.

You think Polanski approaches women's rights in the same way as Farage? Look at any Islamic regime to see where Polanski wants women and having any rights at all, isn't part of the bargain.

Yup. Farage wants to eradicate women’s rights just as much as Polanski does, they just have different ways of achieving that aim.

Anyone who heard Farage’s sneer in the “love” when he addressed one of the protesters yesterday (regardless of what you think of them) and believes he has time for women, needs their bumps feeling.

I don't see how Farage can eradicate my rights as a woman or where he intends to.

Exactly. Reform want to rip up the equality act. Including maternity protections and make it harder to bring sex discrimination cases to court.

Which protestor - the one who pretends to be a Reform supporter so she can disrupt the conference? Did you expect her to be treated with respect?
