Transwomen don't perform any reproductive labour. Only women can perform reproductive labour, by gestating and bearing children. This is a textbook example of a) telling a big lie and hoping it will stick, b) colonising and appropriating women's language, and c) DARVO, as these men who have parasitised feminism try to claim that feminists have parasitised them.

In Harlem recently a young trans woman of color, Jaia Cruz, was attacked by a man in a deli. The man struck Jaia repeatedly, calling her a faggot and a tranny. Jaia stabbed him in self defense and her attacker died.

I bolded the passive voice, blame-avoiding, reframing language because it's so telling of how the writer is a man and sees the situation through a male lens. Cruz's attacker didn't "die", Cruz killed him by escalating the situation from a weaponless assault to a knifing and killing his attacker in what English law would regard as manslaughter, using a weapon that would get anyone, male or female, arrested and charged just for carrying it in public in England. Unless New York has stand-your-ground laws that apply in public places, Cruz is rightly going to jail for doing that, as should anyone, regardless of sex, colour, or anything else.

A woman would probably not have responded in this way. A woman would have tried to defuse the situation, appealed for help from the deli staff, or fled.

I'm not claiming that Cruz deserved to be assaulted, he didn't. I'm highlighting how men reach for violent retaliation, whether that's wise or not, and women don't. I'm highlighting how the writer considers lethal retaliation to be a right, framed as an act of self-defence, in a situation that Cruz could have run away from, and how this is a very typical male way of thinking about threats posed by others.

This writer is either utterly deluded in the clinical sense, or else an utter sociopath who takes pleasure in lying to people.

I think any male person who demands, even passively, that others have to support someone’s subjective belief that doesn’t reflect material reality using language for female people for themselves as male people never think the consequences through.

If the language that used to be unique to female people now include male people in any way, the words simply mean ‘all people’. There is no way to escape this. If a male person demands that people use female words now include them in any way, the words they are using have become meaningless.

I wouldn’t say I’m pretending at all. I present myself in the way that I want to, and I’m not responsible for how people perceive me.

I use neutral spaces whenever possible. I’ve never told anyone what pronouns to use for me.
