We've just had a really splendid thunderstorm...thunder, lightning, wind, rain hail...the full monty.
The air has cooled and cleared quite a bit. Hurrah!

My aunt (the one getting the blanket) gave Kitty a big box of Creamy Dreamies for her birthday & we’ve been fridging those. She loves them so much that she’ll stand on her hind legs to try & get them sooner.

I used to make yogurt ice cubes for my dog.

I've been freezing Lick-e-lix for the evil cats but they refuse to eat then till the yoghyis melted and warm 🙄

Just back from my third working-at-an-expensive-event event this week.

I have no more evenings out in my diary at all. Yet. Grand.

May the sleep gerbils visit all who welcome them overnight.

We had huge thunderstorms yesterday evening- thunder, lightning, rain, hail, wind...the full set. The garden enjoyed the water and the air got a little fresher. The stupid heat has moved east, and i just might be able to leave the house again now! Hurrah!

I'm jealous of people who got thunderstorms. The forecast is still for heat, not as bad as yesterday, but still enough to make me decide my necessary supermarket run will be just after breakfast.

Boo decided to be very loving from about 4.00 onwards so I had to pretend to be asleep while hiding under the bedspread from affectionate pats and prods. Not the best. I rubbed him down with a damp paper towel when I got up to make my tea, which he seemed to appreciate, but he's still insisting I want a furry form pressed against me and I really don't in this weather. Sorry.

We were promised thunderstorms overnight, but seem to have had light drizzle and have acquired more humidity 😣So, although it will be 10 degrees cooler today, it's still oppressive. No breeze at all. Was up at 6am, sat outside, feeding the blackbirds their small plate of soaked mealworms, drinking my coffee, and (not quite) despairing. I officially hate this month now.

Cat is counting ice cubes! Very clever cat 😻

And my shingles still hurts 😫

There was a poppy pop song a while back - I'm very fond of poppy pop songs that catch your ear and capture you for 2 or 3 minutes of aural fun - with the line 'Wake up Boo, it's a beautiful morning'

Now I'll always think of Deano's cat when I hear it
Mutatis mutandis, obvs - in real life it's Boo saying 'Wake up it's a beautiful morning'.

Around the same time, late 1990s, there was a poppy pop song that wasn't just catchy, I found the lyrics a bit on the inspiring side:

It’s still warm and humid here though not as extreme as elsewhere has been, but due to drop a bit during the day esp a bit further north so we think we’ll head off after lunch to a nice garden.
