Mass Shooting in Tumbler Ridge Canada

Looks like it was a man in a dress. Another tragedy. More lives lost. Boys with violent tendencies cannot be told they are actually girls. The violent background of trans activism is a problem.

BREAKING

The identity of the Tumbler Ridge shooter can now be confirmed as Jesse “Jess” Strang.

Strang is a biological male who started to “identify” as a "girl" around 2023.

Strang was raised in a family that valued hunting, and began learning how to shoot rifles when he was just a child. Many guns were kept in the family's residence.

Facebook posts from his mother indicate he may have struggled with behavioral issues, including violent tendencies, from a very young age.

Strang fatally shot 10 people prior to taking his own life.

In 2021, Strang launched a YouTube channel that was promoted by his mother on her Facebook. The channel was dedicated to "hunting, self-reliance, guns" and his other interests. At some point, Strang deleted the content on the channel and changed his handle from "Jesse Boy" to "JessJessUwU." The only remaining post on the channel was made 6 months ago and reads "I've been pretty, um, aimless."

This incidentally is the same area that a number of high profiles trans people are from - ie Jonathan Yaniv. Jette Knox and Veronica Ivy nearby as well. The PM of Canada has a trans child of course.

For those saying females never do this - it's rare but let's not forget Audrey Hale or that a young girl was convicted last year just before she shot up a school in Edinburgh. Both the girls of course were on testosterone

Women make up 50% of the population. Transwomen less than 0.5% of the population, yet without reading a word of the story, I knew that this would be a male type woman.

When will the trans community start acknowledging the real problems they have in their community? They have gladly been lumped in with perverts, abusers and severely mentally ill men, yet they tirelessly campaign on the basis that these people are women and that we should accept them as such. Tragic incidents like this keep showing how batshit this position is, but I have never heard a single one of them acknowledge these fundamental issues.

They can’t acknowledge there’s a problem or the whole house of cards comes down.

Exactly, the number of women who’ve committed these mass shootings is tiny, and a significant proportion of them are trans identified females.

There needs to be an urgent u turn and people identifying as trans should be put back in the suffering with a mental illness’ box. It’s not a single diagnosis, there seem to be multiple mental health issues which are being physically expressed through identifying as trans. It might actually get these kids the help they need before they either hurt themselves or other people.

senua · 11/02/2026 09:10

When I read it on the Beeb, I immediately thought it was worded very carefully.
Agreed. Especially since only last night they were reporting on the outcome of a case which "prompted changes to [UK] guidance on reporting ... status of people arrested and charged".

I'm no great fan of the BBC but they have to be careful about overriding the wording that the locals are giving them.

I thought it was highly unusual that a woman committed a mass shooting. I was waiting for the true story to come out. This confirms what I wondered.

And in a dress, no less.

CraftandGlamour · 11/02/2026 09:11

Absolutely tragic. So when are we going to acknowledge that putting deluded, troubled people on the wrong sex hormones is very dangerous for society as well as them?

The BBC are a disgrace.

Many are autistic

Madcats · 11/02/2026 09:12

R4 now dispensing with sex/gender altogether and going with “suspect” and “offender”.

I can’t imagine how horrific this has been for that community.

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 11/02/2026 09:17

I knew when I read "woman on a dress with brown hair" that it was going to be a man.
Pathetic

joanofaardvark · 11/02/2026 09:18

As soon as a read the BBC headline that the shooter was “Woman in a dress” I KNEW they meant transwoman, ie male and I instantly popped on to Mumsnet to see who else had spotted it.

FFS! Not a woman! Not one of us!

ChattyCatty25 · 11/02/2026 09:18

Trans people seem to be proportionally over-represented as school shooters.

As a true crime follower, another politically incorrect truth is that hunters and farmers seem to be over-represented among murderers. Hunters kill animals for fun while farmers kill animals for convenience, and it’s not much of a leap to move on to humans. Hunters get a thrill of “transcendence” when they kill and it can become sexual and targeted at humans (though not in this case, it sounds like trans narcissistic injury combined with easy access to guns).

NotBadConsidering · 11/02/2026 09:19

Funny how you never see the regular TRA ploppers on threads like this, isn’t it?

And people with mental illnesses should not be led to believe that transition will make them feel better. It does not solve the underlying problem.

AlexaAdventuress · 11/02/2026 09:19

Yes, I thought there was something a bit iffy about the 'woman in a dress' phrasing. After all you don't read that 'a women in a dress was fined for not having a TV licence', or any other transgression. Sure enough, good old Reduxx came to the epistemological rescue.

But what about toilets?

lifeturnsonadime · 11/02/2026 09:20

I knew there would be a thread on this, If it had been a woman, they wouldn't have added in a dress or brown hair.

I am so sorry for all of the victims.

There needs to be honesty both in reporting and in the fact that there does seem to be an increased link between trans identification and violent crime. This tiny minority who just want to pee in peace come up so frequently in relation to this kind of incident.

Jumimo · 11/02/2026 09:21

Absolutely tragic. Disgusting that the original news reports were calling him a “female”.

NotBadConsidering · 11/02/2026 09:22

RedToothBrush · 11/02/2026 09:20

But what about toilets?

How long before the fact he was described as a “female in a dress” is used to justify the claim “you can’t tell”?

MoltenLasagne · 11/02/2026 09:23

We all knew as soon as we read the weasel wording. I still find it incredible that we have come to a time where the BBC knows it is lying, we know they are lying, they know we know they are lying, and yet they still persist.

There are probably many interlinked reasons for the huge over-representation of trans people in mass shooter numbers. Off the top of my head

  1. An extremely high level of comorbidities with trans identification
  2. The immediate ceasing of much mental health investigation as soon as someone identifies as transgender
  3. The impact of cross sex hormones on already shaky mental health
  4. The severe online-ness of many people with trans identities
  5. The radical nature of the online community and belief in being persecuted and extreme action
  6. The lack of action from "allies" or indeed most outside parties to extreme behaviour once someone identifies as trans.

There are probably many more, but even a couple from that list would be a toxic combination never mind the whole lot.

EsmaCannonball · 11/02/2026 09:28

Apparently the alert sent out to warn people of the shooter said 'a female in a dress.' If true, ideological purity was put before children's lives.

MyThreeWords · 11/02/2026 09:28

I think the "female in a dress with brown hair" descriptor was probably issued at a time when it was still necessary to provide a description enabling people to keep themselves safe. So mention of clothing and hair colour was appropriate. It gained currency in the media because they are always so content hungry in situations like this, where there is little information and a huge audience.

The BBC is being reasonably appropriate in continuing to reference this descriptor, in quote marks, while also saying that the identity and "gender" (their avoidance of the word "sex" is the crappy bit) have not been released.

It is standard practice not to assert a suspects identity until there is formal confirmation, and given the initial inaccuracies about sex, it seems fair to leave confirmation of sex until identity is confirmed.

So I don't see any massive BBC failure here, though I will watch their continuing coverage with interest.

That's very naive of you.

ThisHappyHiker · 11/02/2026 09:30

Described as female in a dress/woman yet pronouns throughout the reporting were they/their making it obvious everyone knew it was a male but they just couldn't admit it. Pathetic.

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 11/02/2026 09:30

Absolutely devastating. My heart goes out to the families.
