Well in fairness as someone physically disabled, I often look at my body and think I wish I was born in a functional one, but the bottom line is that its my body, it is what it is, and functional mental health means cracking on and making the best of it. Or driving myself mad being miserable and obsessed about something that there is no doing anything about.

I haven't thought to use it as a justification for exploiting it for my financial gain and other people's serious risks and harms. There's nothing ethical or remotely shiny about what he's done. And he's gained very nicely indeed from doing it to women.

I agree. I think it is perfectly rational to both believe that he can’t compete as a woman, and upset for the female boxers he competed against, while still having real sympathy for someone who was raised as a girl from childhood, and probably spent many years feeling confused that they are not like other girls while those around them told and raised them as a girl, including coaches who may have known or at least guessed but were fixated on winning over and above caring about the impact this would have on his mental health and life.

I could have felt sympathy up until the moment he got in a boxing ring and punched a woman after he knew that he had a male specific DSD.

Of course it must have been devastating to find out but just because he has gone through something traumatic he doesn’t have a pass to punch women.

Wait, I just read it the whole article. He's in complete denial, isn't he? Utterly convinced he's a woman.

I doubt he’s in denial - more likely he’s pretending to ‘believe’ in order to evade potential law suits from women he’s beaten up by lying and cheating.

Yep….he cannot cash in on his infamy if he admits the truth. Gotta make the ££££ while he can.

LifeInTheWind · 06/02/2026 15:36

Beat up a woman, chaps, and win a gold medal.

And oh yeah we really care about VAWG or whatever honest guv.

Memoryhole · 06/02/2026 15:38

Well, fuck me sideways and call me Betsy, who’d have thought it.

Imdunfer · 06/02/2026 15:43

It's the IOC I blame.

The two DSD boxers were banned from boxing by their own boxing association and the IOC overruled it.

I hope we can end all this nonsense now with DNA testing required to compete in female competition.

His condition is know in his country as penis at 12.
His voice broke and he started to get facial hair etc.
He knew he was male, he failed 2 sex tests and had an independent team of specialist Dr's who will have explained exactly what his DSD was and what it ment including that hes a man all before the Paris Olympics yet he still chose to get into the ring with women and lied repeatedly about his sex even going as far as threatening to sue women for pointing out the truth that hes a man.
That man deserves absolutely zero sympathy from anyone hes a violent man who enjoys cheating and beating up women, he should be jailed for fraud and assault and everyone who helped him should be jailed for conspiracy to commit fraud and assault

Are you thinking of the 'guevedoces'? That's the Dominican Republic, not Algeria.
If you see interviews with the younger IK, he is very softly spoken and his voice could be a woman's. In Algeria, he always presents as a woman - a gender non-conforming woman, but a woman - and is for instance a UNICEF female ambassador ['ambassadrice'].

I think it was when he moved up a couple of weight divisions for the Paris Olympics that his male-ness became undeniably obvious - women boxers find it difficult to move up the divisions because putting on extra weight means... putting on extra weight!
When Khelif bulked up, unlike women he had the male 'programming' to put on muscle mass, and he started to look even more like a man, as well as becoming much stronger than women of an equal weight, because his extra weight was muscle.

I liked his Vogue photoshoot, I think he should quit boxing and stick to the catwalk!

I'm not defending him but all this must have given him some severe mental health issues.

He knows he's a man but has to do all the mental gymnastics to persuade everyone, including himself, he's a woman.

I am fairly sure he's damaged the mental and physical health of some women.

He has had plenty of time to adjust to this knowledge. He still wants to compete as a woman.

He’s utterly convinced he benefits, financially and otherwise, by pretending VERY VERY hard that he believes he’s a woman.

Nope its the same in the area he was born due to inbreeding through cusin marriage.
Nothing he said in that vogue article can be taken at face value not can his photos hoped pictures.
The way his coaches carried him on their shoulders shows that everyone knew he is male. Oh and how he dresses I public when he's trying to hide his sex is irrelevant to your argument.
He's a deceitful abusive male who belongs in jail

I take your points, I'm not arguing, I just have a different take on some aspects of IK's background, but I 100% agree that he is male and should not be in women's sports, no argument there!

Could you supply a link to something about incidences of pseudohermaphroditism in the area of Algeria he's from?
I've only heard of a cluster of it in the Dominican Republic.

It could be another case of the cynical recruiting of a young person with a DSD, if his area is known for pseudohermaphroditism.

I found the information on a dsd website around the time of the Olympics I'll try and find it again but can promise I'll find it

Ohfuckrucksack · 06/02/2026 19:43

It's 5 alpha reductase deficiency. t is found worldwide, with high-frequency clusters in the Dominican Republic, Papua New Guinea, Turkey, Egypt, and Brazil, often linked to consanguinity.

The guevedocos 'penis at 12' is one particular group in Salinas where there is a huge cluster of this.

He wasn't born in the wrong body - he simply had ambiguous genitalia at birth.

By puberty it became clear he would have gone through male puberty. How this was dealt with by his family is uncertain - although we know he was playing football outside, an activity that his sisters did not join with when the sports coaches noticed him and recognised the possibility he presented.

When are they taking the Women's boxing Gold medal from him? How about the other men who won them - he wasn't the only one.

Did he always present as a woman? IK's makeover is recent. The long hair, earrings and heavy makeup etc. all appeared once IK's sex was questioned. In IK's Instagram photos prior to the Olympics he just looked like a regular, athletic bloke (I don't know what IK believed about his sex at this point). It looks like all these photos have been deleted now.

I still wonder whether IK actually accepts that he is male. He is surrounded by people with a vested interested telling him that he is a just a special kind of woman. Maybe this is what he believes.

Ohfuckrucksack · 06/02/2026 20:17

It does not matter how IK or any other man 'presents', whether they look better than me in a dress or what their hormone levels are - suppressed or otherwise.

The importance is sex class and his sex class is and always has been male. There may have been a time when he was unaware of this - but he's aware now after all the furore.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 07/02/2026 02:55

I personally think IK knows full well he is male.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 07/02/2026 02:58

There’s that picture of him jogging on a boardwalk which I literally thought was Cristiano Ronaldo when I saw it.

RedToothBrush · 07/02/2026 09:31

I'm fairly sure every time IK goes for a wee, IK is reminded of whether he is male or female.

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 07/02/2026 09:49

Well the focus is now on the IOC. If Imane is saying he will take the IOC test and not the World Boxing test then I assume he thinks that suppressing testosterone will let him compete.

The optics of that for the IOC would be terrible. Hopefully they’ll be forced into SRY testing.

I see most of Reddit is still in denial even though Imane has admitted himself to having the SRY gene.

Yes, and in the comments of articles on Facebook, which tend to have a similar echo chambery nature to Reddit.

Can you stand to pee with a micro penis?

I think there's plenty of dissent on reddit but it gets deleted. The Khelif threads look like Swiss cheese

I don't know but I'm fairly sure you'll know where the pee is coming from regardless.
