Welcome to The Bluestocking, the welcome is warm, the conversation is wide-ranging, the food and drink are delicious but magically free from anything they need to be free from, and the bar staff are highly-trained, professional, efficient and very friendly gerbils.

Thanks for the Key Of Awesome's version of Walk of the Earth's version of Goyte's song. It's just the thing to cheer up a grim and soggy day.

Glad wims liked it i was a bit worried you might think i had lost my mind xx

One of those tiny Tunnocks-bearing ponies appears to have a cloven rear roof, and another looks part cat.

Android....?

I'm also becoming suspicious that half of the 'items removed' on Boily's tally are Tunnocks wrappers.

Ooh. Something to remember when I start running out of things to get rid of! I currently can't remember where I put the wrappers for safe keeping.

Yesterday was 58 pens that no longer worked so went in the bin. 41 pens still worked but I could live without them so stuck them in 1 pencil case to go to the cleaner for her to get rid off. So 100 items!

I'm on HB pencils today.

I keep eyeing up the two archive boxes that contain covid era face masks and wondering if I count a box of 50 as 1 item or 50! I suspect I'll be counting them as 50!

Hedgey, this is the Bluestocking, where retaining possession of one's mind is optional😄

I tend to leave mine here for safekeeping. Then at least I know where to look, otherwise it could be in any of multiple classrooms and offices.

Just inside the front door we have two holders, one for wet umbrellas and one for minds😁

I'm not sure how I feel about this idea of being rejected for being old and not working.

DeanElderberry · 18/01/2026 14:54

I mean, just because I'm ancient and idle, that doesn't mean I'm worthless junk.

Does it?

Which is one less than the Staunch Ally. They have a third one in case a certain gentleman who claims to own a cervix drops in. They insist he leave it at the door!

Boily, I've just seen mention on another thread of fluffy crocs. Do you know about this?

An elderberry is for life not just for Christmas.

I do.

I have resisted.

But I did get what I wanted for Christmas!

ETA i have petted a pair of the fluffy crocs though. They are very soft.

I am considering buying some yarn. Contrary to what dh thinks, I do not actually have all the yarn in the world, and I don’t have the yarn for the project I want to do next - this dress, for the three granddaughters. It would be £62, but that would be Christmas presents for all three of them, and £20 per dress isn’t that pricey, is it?

Do I buy the yarn and ask for forgiveness from Dh, or do I run it past him first?

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 18/01/2026 15:05

Buy first, ask forgiveness later.

You buy the yarn, don't ask for forgiveness and when he mentions it you stick your fingers in your ears and go "La La La La La"

ifIwerenotanandroid · 18/01/2026 15:10

Buy the yarn & hide it, & then when you make the dresses, pretend you already had it (which you will have done, by then).

ETA very sweet pattern, btw

I am amazed at the depths you will sink to to deceive your DHs 😁

My thought was to run it by him first, by showing him the dress and saying 'wouldn't [DGD1] [DGD2] and [DGD3] look so sweet in these dresses, I'm sure they'll love them', etc etc and when he concurs, say 'You're so right, they will look lovely in them. I'll get the yarn..'

More manipulative than deceptive😂

I asked the AI to show how valued you are, but at first it confused you with your cousin Raspberry. Anyway, now you're Queen Elderberry, so I hope that's good enough to show what we think of you.
