Do you exist IRL?

It's just that I see so many TRAs stating that "nobody IRL cares about this stuff", so maybe we just all exist on Twitter/X and Mumsnet? Sort of disembodied AI? Not actual women in actual buildings, doing actual jobs and leading actual lives?

When Katy Colin Montgomery briefly returned to Twitter/X for his drunken pre- and post-Christmas rants, they centered on the idea that:

Man it's so weird looking at twitter and seeing GCs still going on and on about their nonsense ideology. Literally no one irl thinks about trans people at all. No one cares. If they got a hobby they'd be cured of their relentless insanity in an instant

...

Obviously I've not posted for ages because of, you know, the nazis and the bots and how authoritarian Elon has even censored the word cîs. But there's one thing I wanted to say: Gender Critical isn't real. No one irl gives a fuck AT ALL

I'm pretty sure that I exist IRL. My dog certainly relies on that. Oh, and my loving family, and friends 😆

Shovels are 'masculine coded'... huh... I have a huge suspicion that Jennifer - despite being a 'true and honest woman' (wink, wink) - has never been a pony mad girl. #SadTimes

Why are there so many untalented grifters in the arts?

Why are there so many untalented grifters in the arts?

'Twas ever thus. But at least this particular grift is being more ridiculed than indulged, and there'll be less of it going forward as the money dries up.

I had no idea about the origins of berk! Still seems appropriate here however 😀

I exist IRL.

i couldn’t give a stuff if someone (adult) has a gender identity. Dress as you like, live your best life etc. I really don’t care and I will interact with you in public in the same way I’d interact with any other stranger.

The only time I’ll have a problem with you is a) if you use a single sex facility or service that is not for your biological sex or b) you support/encourage medical treatment of gender distress in young people instead of psychological support.

And because when people are appointed with huge salaries or given monster funding with great praise and go on to be complete disasters and totally fuck up nobody has the courage to say they are crap at it and send them on their way.
There are a lot of freelance artists who work their arses off and do really good things with no acknowledgement at all. I married one, never had a paid holiday in our lives.

Ah, I do enjoy an abstract/journal article behind a paywall dissection (or in this case, a failed link/completely irrelevant link dissection). It's so very predictable that the TRA in question hasn't actually read any of it, while displaying incredibly misplaced patronising superiority towards the intelligent (and well read) posters on here.

And yes, to answer the OP, the topic is absolutely being discussed in real life. By ordinary women having a chat. Despite the determined push to stop them through no debate, deplatforming, open and veiled threats etc etc.

Sorry lads!

the Dunning Krüger effect. The worst thing is, they all seem to think they're the first low value doughball to do this exact thing, far from it.

Hell mend them.

I mean, I do agree that most people don’t think about trans people in their daily lives. It rarely comes up really. Doesn’t mean I’m not GC.

Yes. The idea that women are focussed on 'transwomen', rather than on women and girls, is absurd.

We are focussed on women and girls because our daily lives are inescapably shaped by and affected by our sex.

Mostly, we just dont care about anyone's genderfeels. Its about as interesting as starsigns.

for sure, there’s lots of things people feel strongly about, but they don’t come up every day. The ozone layer, bear baiting, grooming gangs, people who fly tip…

I got my first and possibly only Man Point of the year today, when I gave a crossfitter a jump start after the gym.

Okay so she used her own leads and did the actual connections, and we were supervised by a more manny man. But I knew how to open my bonnet and where my battery was, so I'm claiming my Man Point!

We ( DH and I) have an electric car. We went to a party where some very manly men discussed the car in front of me in a very patronizing way.

Since they were oh so clever and knew absolutely everything about our car, and I had wondered about something, I asked them about it: "Can I jump someone else's car using my car, and in that case, where do I place the leads?". They did not, in fact, know absolutely everything about our car.

So.... @QuickJadeFinch doesn't want to correct all their failed links?

Well. That is a pity.

BezMills · 09/01/2026 19:01

I'm not surprised that a low value visiting scoldbot had so little of value to offer, notwithstanding their grandiose condescending. It's like deja vu that I've seen before.
