Mixed sex toilets are terrifying for women but just a laugh for men.

I can enjoy a good fart joke but this “hilarious” anecdote by cricket commentator David “Bumble” Lloyd left me cold. Men really have no idea of the fear women have of mixed sex facilities.

https://www.facebook.com/reel/3843028419327926/?fs=e&s=TIeQ9V&fs=e&fs=e

If the link doesn’t work, it’s a viral, supposedly hilarious account of David going into a mixed-sex loo for a poo and letting off a loud fart. The lady in the cubicle next to him calls out “Is that you Maureen”.

From David’s point of view, (and pretty much every man and “cool girl” on the planet) he thinks that Maureen must be such a regular farter that her friend thinks the fart noise just has to be her.

I suspect most women would read this situation differently- Maureen’s friend has realised she was half naked inches away from a strange man and is calling out anxiously to her friend to make sure she isn’t alone.

I’m wondering what this board’s thoughts would be. Am I just looking to hard into an anecdote or is men’s complete obliviousness a big issue when it comes to mixed sex facilities.

And single sex women's toilets are perfectly fine for women to use. All women are happy with them, many strongly prefer them, and the best anyone can come up with for unisex is 'I don't mind'. So how can it possibly be beneficial for women to change that? Which is a genuine question. Because if we're being asked to accept a change to unisex, the least we should expect is to be told how it benefits us.

TheaBrandt1 · 29/12/2025 20:46

I genuinely can’t see any benefits for women of letting men into our spaces. Except if pleasing men is your thing in which case there is that I guess.

Menstruation fetish porn isn't something women watch, mate.

Neither are they the recipients of menstruation kits to mimic menstruation with fake blood capsules that melt up men's anuses.

Nor do they take drugs to try and lactate for kicks.

Fetishising women's biology is a part of autogynephilia, a male fetish.

Same. Which is why I keep asking on these threads where women seem to want to shout down any opposition to unisex, just in case I'm missing something.

“nothing to see here” from the person who told women discussing the fact that there is a group of men who retrieve used san pro must be making things up and just hate men.

It sure takes some fucked up thinking to conclude that women not wanting men to fetishise their biology in their own private spaces is about women hating men and not the other way around.

Yep.

But apparently we should just ‘calm down’.

Sorry OP I’m with David- this is a funny anecdote and I think you’re reading way too much into it… if your aim is to illustrate what a dangerous place a mixed sex toilet is for women, the funny trump story probably wasn’t going to be the way to go

Greyskybluesky · 29/12/2025 21:07

This happened near me. Why make it easier for men who want to do this?

For those who don't want to click, he set up secret cameras in toilets and changing room to film young girls.

Yes. datun Imagine telling women that no men fetishise women’s bodily functions and that they must just ‘hate men’ when there are recipes and instructions on line about how men can put melted red popsicles up their anuses or their artificially created cavity sewn into their groin to mimic periods?

Perhaps you should stop telling women that they should calm down and that they just hate men when you seem woefully ill informed about the topic you have entered a thread to patronise women on.

No thank you. Dangers aside, the risk of finding a piss-covered toilet seat is far far higher if you follow a man into a loo than if you go in after a woman.

That's not her aim. Her aim was to show the contrast between the way men may feel using a unisex space (it's a chance to poke fun at the idea of older women farting) and how women might feel, as evidenced by some of the women who've spoken on the thread about trauma, fear and discomfort.

TheaBrandt1 · 29/12/2025 21:13

I am amazed at the naivety of these handmaiden types so keen to open up women’s private spaces to men. Do they know the grim shit some men get up to?

Decent men (like DH) are usually default suspicious of other men they don’t know because they know the reality of what some men are actually like.

If you read anything that women have written on here, you will realise that enclosed spaces are the opposite of safe.

Many people have followed the TRA advice to 'educate ourselves'. Unfortunately you don't have to dig too deep into the subject to see things you wished you hadn't and learn things that make you want to bleach your brain.

For anyone interested, here is the early 2025 YouGov tracker information on whether people want gender neutral toilets or separate single sex toilets:

A new poll reveals that support for mixed-sex toilets is at its lowest level in five years.

Do you think public spaces should have separate toilets for men and women, gender neutral toilets, or both?

Separate toilets for men and women. 59%
Gender neutral toilets as well as separate toilets for men and women. 32%
Gender neutral toilets only. 5%
None of the above. 1%
Don't know. 3%

https://yougov.co.uk/topics/society/trackers/support-for-separate-toilets-for-men-and-women-and-gender-neutral-toilets-in-public-spaces

It's worth noting that whichever demographic you click on in the YouGov options, the people in favour of the 'gender neutral toilets only' option never rises above 8%.
Even the 18 to 24 age group can only manage 6%.

And again, you seem to be showing again just how ill informed you really are.

Well done.

oh and women, we should stop reading the social media posts of men who get off on publicly discussing their fetishes, because apparently we are the issue …. Yet again…

No, it is us women that are the problem. We should live in ignorance apparently.

Yes. I have noticed this.

I believe that that younger demographic is showing just how negatively they view their enforced mixed sex toilet provision in school in this tracker.

Women have been raising the alarm about the harm to girls in schools with mixed sex toilets for years and years. I think we are seeing the impact of this in that tracker
