Appears to be an attempt to address issues of concern to UK women today.

'Nadia Whittome, who has just joined Westminster’s Women and Equalities Committee, called for the Government fight back against toxic narratives and show solidarity with the trans community'

'...what we’re up against is a machine funded by billionaires in this country and the US, with political support from countries like Russia as well.'
...
“You just need to follow where the transphobia is coming from, it’s not coming from working class people, it’s trickling down from the top.
“These concerns are not being raised by a cleaner on the minimum wage, somebody stuck in an abusive relationship. Trans people aren’t a threat to them, the threat to them comes from violent men and the structures that keep them trapped, whether that’s low pay, low benefits, not having access to the public services they need.
“I don’t think that’s because a Labour government is the main driving force, I think the main driving force pushing it backwards, there are external forces funded by big money from Elon Musk to JK Rowling, but the Government isn’t standing up against that with a compassionate alternative, and it’s allowing itself to be pushed in that direction.

“I think it’s very sad, I feel very sorry for her, for someone who was once a treasured children's author.”
Earlier this year the Harry Potter author launched a fund for "women's sex-based rights", which "offers legal funding support to individuals and organizations fighting to retain women’s sex-based rights in the workplace, in public life and in protected female spaces".

Ms Whittome ruled out the idea social media regulation was a “silver bullet”, and that the only way to fight bigotry was “not to give an inch”.
She said: “We see negative headlines about trans people in the media every day, the Tories and Reform continue to use them as a political football, often most damagingly in reference to protecting women from women who aren’t trans, which misdiagnoses the problem of male violence, which is something…done to women both trans and not trans by violent and abusive men.'

Nadia, wait til you hear what they're doing with violent and abusive men who say they're women! They're in women's prisons, Nad!

Mixing up several narratives and throwing in a bit of conspiracy theory for good measure. I really despair over the intellectual wasteland in the Labour Party 😭

Yep, Rachel’s not exactly looking behind her and quaking about the intellectual powerhouses Kier could choose from to replace her

“These concerns are not being raised by a cleaner on the minimum wage, somebody stuck in an abusive relationship. Trans people aren’t a threat to them,"

Has she not been following the nurses cases? Does she not listen to transwidows?

Right now she sounds like she is talking about an alternative reality.

Absolutely. Well I am a care worker on not much more than min wage and I have been raising this issue . I work with children with complex /severe disabilities and it is really important for their parents to have a carer of the same sex for their children. It is really is the basics of care isn't it ? Nadia is a complete clown and knows nothing about real life.

Womblingmerrily · 09/11/2025 18:26

Nadia Whittome and insight - not words that belong together in a sentence.

Some insight for Nadia.

  1. Trans women are men - some of them are violent men, especially when told no.
  2. Working class people are a varied bunch and at the moment have a variety of concerns to choose from related to the cost of living. Despite this, they still know the difference between a man and woman but have been conditioned not to mention it for fearing of being scolded by their 'betters'.
  3. 'Trans' phobia - so fear of individuals who are determined to insert themselves into places they should not go - sounds sensible.
  4. JKR is still a beloved children's author - she's also an enormously brave woman who has spread more good in the world in one minute that NW will in her lifetime.
Abhannmor · 09/11/2025 18:29

The only MP thicker than Whittome is a strange gnome who represents Wickford x Rayleigh. Can't think of his name now.

Nadia is probably a very caring person. I'd like to give her a hug and engage her in conversation. While someone else calls social services.

Greyskybluesky · 09/11/2025 18:31

NW comes to Let Women Speak gatherings and other events and stands among the straggly pink haired blokes with their drums and whistles and loudspeakers. She's happy to see women drowned out, I've seen her with my own eyes.

What the fuck is she doing on that committee?

timesublimelysilencesthewhys · 09/11/2025 18:32

According to Nadia, it was the cleaners of Middlesbrough who fought to introduced the GRA, because the knew that the one thing that would make their lives complete is to have eddie izzard fiddling with himself the ladies.

Its interesting that mainstream Labour are trying to hit the wealthy and millionaires in tax, but the greens and your party are talking about billionaires.

ThatZanyFatball · 09/11/2025 18:35

She's not brain dead or stupid, she's blatently gaslighting.

"You just need to follow where the transphobia is coming from, it’s not coming from working class people, it’s trickling down from the top." Um yeah except for the nurses who are in court right now, teachers, college professors (not exactly working class but hardly" the top") and others who had their livelihoods stripped from them by... well who has the power to do that? Trans ideology only got to where it did bc of the power and money pumped into it by elitists and celebrities with the luxury to remain insulated from the actual consequences of it. Even with all their power, money, influence, and actual ability and actions of stripping average people of their livelihoods, they're just fuming bc the rest of us peasants finally rose up and told the emperor hes not wearing any clothes and he can go eff himself.

It's blatent gaslighting and she should be called out for it.

Greyskybluesky · 09/11/2025 18:36

Just to add: the woman speaking at the LWS event where I saw NW in the trans crowd was speaking about elder care and the disproportionate burden on women, especially working class women - all the time NW's mates were screaming and yelling while NW did nothing.

timesublimelysilencesthewhys · 09/11/2025 18:41

I didnt realise she was still in labour. I thought she was an independent given shes involved with your party.

Domesticatednottamed · 09/11/2025 17:49

"protecting women from women who aren’t trans"

Anyone know what the fuck this means?
Women who aren't trans are women, does she mean protecting men who pretend to be women from women?

Edited

Was scratching my head over this too.

Talkinpeace · 09/11/2025 18:50

thick as mince

tobee · 09/11/2025 19:05

Nadia needs to get out and talk to some more people. As opposed to a very select few.

She's very close to the Alliance for Workers Liberty, which always surprises me because the AWL are one of the more intelligent and literate Trot groups.

I wonder that no 'working class people... a cleaner on the minimum wage, somebody stuck in an abusive relationship' have ever apparently got in touch with Nadia to talk to her about their desire for privacy, dignity, and safety.

She has no idea how patronising she even is.

How do these 6th form debating society muppets get voted in as MP’s?

Honestly her naive blinkered GCSE politics would be laughable if it wasn’t so bloody scary that she’s in a position of power.

Ive got 2 watt lightbulbs brighter than her

HermioneWeasley · 09/11/2025 19:40

She’s a fucking idiot and a liar. I despise her

GCAcademic · 09/11/2025 19:42

She's a great example of why Reform is doing so well.

Shortshriftandlethal · 09/11/2025 19:46

MrsOvertonsWindow · 09/11/2025 16:51

She's so embarrassing.
No comment on the nurses being compelled to strip in front of men in NHS workplace changing rooms I notice.

It is trans ideology which has been top down imposed and funded by American dollars ( US Aid was funding Stonewall for example, as well as a host of Labour MPs). It has been a grassroots women's movement which has alerted society to what has been going on under the radar of debate and public consciousness.

It was always obvious that it would be the most vulnerable and marginalised women and children who would end up suffering most. And working class women are generally having none of it, outside of activist circles.

Her confidence in speaking on this is totally unwarranted given how uninformed she is.

Exactly. Invoking the warped Labour view of the working class as if she knows the first thing about us. I don't know if she's ever even spoken to a cleaner in her life.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 09/11/2025 19:55

Zack Polanski said today that he would work with someone like her if she was leading the Labour Party.

Not sure if his confidence in her will help her achieve it.

hholiday · 09/11/2025 19:56

So according to Nadia:
Sandie Peggy and the Darlo nurses: Upper class
The fox botherer: Salt of the earth, working class
Right.
