Morning all, and thanks for the cuppa, Errol. Perfect brew.
Just popping in, not feeling the best yet.
I've been enjoying the wonderful festival of dramatics put on by our own, our very own gerbils👏👏👏
Lots of much-needed laughs, thank you Boily.
On H&S - when I became the only woman in a team, it became obvious that unsafe practices were a form of macho posturing - they competed over lifting heavy items, how quickly could they climb up the shelving in the warehouse - yes climb up, and then throw the item down to a waiting eejit colleague, etc.
Shortly after my arrival, and possibly as a result of the look of horror on my face when I saw how things were done, there were signs put up about the correct way to lift, weights that required a two-person lift, and a fork-lift picker [not ride on, unfortunately] which entertained the lads even more than climbing up the shelving, so I wasn't considered too much of a killjoy!
The presence of one woman meant that it became more of a workplace, and less of a lethal adventure playground for boys.
It's a lovely sunny morning where I am, hope that's widespread
