Myrtle, I'm very pleased that you had a decent sleep. It makes a massive difference. I still remember awaking after my first 6-hour night after DC1 was born. A terrible sleeper who was up 3x a night (for 30-60mins a time) for months, the little horror finally slept through and I felt like a new woman.

Hot enough, Magpie. I could see the steam! Come along now, do what Matron says…

Well I felt even crappier today so I went to the doctor, who tested me and informed me that I have flu A, a temperature of 102, and will be feeling better in a week, and DH is “a sitting duck” for it.

That sounds utterly miserable, Brit. I'd suggest that you move in to the Bluey's sanatorium pronto, and send Mr Brit over to Mr Nibbles at the Staunch Ally to be fitted for a Dressing Gown of Doom.

Oh dear winter is here, we need a cauldron or two of lemsips, all flavours catered for.

An all cure antibiotic dispenser a bit like the gobstopper things they used to have.

There is a new area in the basement formally known as the spa

it has a warm chocolate bath with marshmallows floating around.

We've had a wee bonfire in the garden, a small number of generally quiet fireworks and a few sparklers. Lovely family time. The rain held off and it wasn't windy. We all now smell like kippers.

I'm feeling quite healthy but I'm happy to hand out hot chocolate. I've got a few leftover marshmallows.

when DD was primary age, she brought home colds which gave me awful coughs for which the only solution was to constantly have a soothing sweet in my mouth.
I’ve not had one of those coughs for years but always have strepsils available.

it needs a pool gerbil with a net to fish out the feathers I think.

I am currently bobbing around in the chocolate spa and am increasingly resembling a snowball.

Just back from the bonfire. We probably set net zero back by 10 years but it was fun.

Your village bonfire finished this late? Or were you at a private one?

My town didn’t have a bonfire on ecological grounds: apparently a neighbour had objected in recent years. They did have the traditional fireworks last Saturday, though. People grumbled.

Woolly Hugs has a Christmas craft auction starting in a few days (I think). I made a Maud bauble & K&P just put it up on facebook.

That's horrible Brit. Did it sneak in past the 'flu jab? If so we'll all be sitting ducks.
