I thought this deserved a thread of its own. It seems women meeting together to discuss feminism and issues affecting them are deliberately provacative.

Wow! Knew she was a zoomer before, but a woman hater to boot as well ? Women cannot discuss their rights in Brighton apparently or they will "cause " men to be violent! Bloody hell Sian...

Great to have this thread. Remember too to take ACTION. This trans terror has been going on for too long and the Police and authorities do nothing. Too many women have been attacked. Its great to vent about this on Mumsnet. The next step is to fight back using our voices.

FIRST
Write your MP to ask them to condemn Sian Berry's endorsement of violence and attack on the freedom of speech and ask for action against this group. The Secretary of State of Health Wes Streeting has the correct approach see his response to the attack.

Wes Streeting

This kind of violent direct action is disgraceful. It is designed to intimidate people - in this case women - into silence and it must not be allowed to happen with impunity.

Remember Bash Back vandalised his office;
Wes Streeting’s east London office vandalised by trans protest group

https://www.standard.co.uk/news/london/wes-streeting-office-vandalism-trans-activists-b1241166.html

Sex Matters has a list of over fifty incidents of Trans activists threatening attacking, and silencing women in the UK. Make sure to link to this
https://sex-matters.org/about-us/what-we-are-up-against/intimidation-threats-and-violence-by-trans-rights-activists/

With the Supreme Court ruling it is time to stop the violence and censorship once and for all. The law is clear women are real. Violence is not going to change that.

Second
Also report Sian Berry to the Green Party for breaking their Code of Conduct;

Complaints Procedure
What to do if you feel that something in the Green Party has gone wrong

https://greenparty.org.uk/members/complaints-procedure/

Code of Conduct
https://greenparty.org.uk/members/code-of-conduct/

The Green Party’s approach to ethical conduct is guided by its philosophical basis and core values, which include a commitment to freedom of self -expression and the non-violent resolution of conflict.

Philosophical Basis para 401

‘The Green Party affirms the importance of individual freedom and self-expression. We believe people should be free to make their own decisions on matters which do not adversely affect others. Its importance lies in valuing the opportunity people have to make their own decisions, accept responsibility for them and develop in their own way.’

Green Party Core Value 8.

‘We look for non-violent solutions to conflict situations, which take into account the interests of minorities and future generations in order to achieve lasting settlements.’ These perspectives inform the following standards for conduct.

Almost certainly the Green Party will let her off, but we need to show up their hypocrisy when they are expelling members for saying biology is a thing.

Third
Write to the media and press ask for more coverage of this and other incidents. The TAs are trying to block entrance to conference right now. When Polanski is on the TV lets get him asked about this. He has condemned the banning of Palestine Action what about Filia.

You can keep up with the wider issues inside the Greens including the rise of Boob Whisperer Zack Polanski in this thread;

I was considering bringing her tweet to the attention of the commissioner for MP standards.

In our country (where men kill one to two women a week and rape is effectively decriminalised) having a female MP justifying male violence against women and restrictions of free speech and peaceful gathering is hugely problematic.

Alas it seems that her tweet breaches no standards.

fromorbit · 11/10/2025 09:45

Berry formerly defended free speech. Now back tracked.

Sian Berry should be reminded that when answering our #QuestionsForCandidates she said:

Yet today she defends this:

@fromorbit this is fantastic thank you.

everyone taking a stand, sending g those emails, and I will be, makes a huge huge difference. We must stand up and be counted and shut this down.

NettleTea · 11/10/2025 09:46

the thing is, FILIA are not even terribly GC either - they regularly cancel women who are too hardline in that respect.

There are other options as I said above. We need to try everything.

Report it to local council if you are in the area. It seems the damage to council property may be around 50k at a time when budgets are in crisis. That could mean cuts in schools or social care.

GCAcademic · 11/10/2025 09:30

Being able to dismiss women's rights is the preserve of a certain kind of woman. They don't see that they need their sex-based rights because they are able to insulate themselves and their interests through their class and finanicial privilege. Sian Berry and Emma Watson are prominent examples of this.

Yes, these women have forgotten that they are women. They have achieved 'equality' and have every privilege that this brings with it.. They don't recognise vulnerability in themselves and have most likley never encountered or been the subject of male violence or paparaphilia.

yourhairiswinterfire · 11/10/2025 09:48

Has she anything to say about the very male violence that was on show

Only that it was a 'predictable problem'.

It's the women's fault, you see, for being provocative in wanting to talk about issues like domestic abuse, sexual violence, the oppression of women worldwide, reproductive rights, male violence etc, and also the fault of the council for not silencing and banning them from public like the Taliban.

It's not, of course, the fault of the violent, woman-hating masked thugs who can't keep their rage under control and are forced to attack women and smash shit up whenever something doesn't centre cock.

Dozer · 11/10/2025 09:50

Wow, that thread about mixed sex changing in a secondary school, post Supreme Court findings, is a shocker.

Ms Berry doing the ‘we need to wait for the guidance’ filibuster when in fact as the OP says ‘there is no legal limbo’ on single sex facilities, or safeguarding responsibilities.

Hats off to @SingleSexSpacesInSchools for all your work on the issue.

Shortshriftandlethal · 11/10/2025 09:51

Perhaps Sian Berry doesn't 'identify as' a woman? Who would want to be one of those ? ( apart from some men, of course)

adobeslats · 11/10/2025 09:52

Helleofabore · 11/10/2025 09:18

The response to Filia this year has been incredible to see. I hope all the women stay safe.

Howver, if police are also not removing protestors from blocking entrance to the venue, how is this allowed?

Didn’t the Glasgow police cordon the protest to across the street? Why have Brighton police allowed blockage?

Surely that should be something Sian Berry looks into? Of course, she won’t .

It's been difficult for Jewish women to stay safe, apparently there has been an incredible amount of antisemitism from speakers inside the conference.

Elifane · 11/10/2025 09:53

Her position is, plainly, "she was asking for it".

Dozer · 11/10/2025 09:54

Reported by whom @adobeslats ? Were you or someone you know there?

Justme56 · 11/10/2025 09:54

Unfortunately Berry can’t see what is front of her own nose. She’s so into the ‘poor vulnerable minority’ idea, that any acts which highlight the opposite have to be excused, with some sort of ‘they made me do it’ narrative.

Pleasantsort · 11/10/2025 09:59

adobeslats · 11/10/2025 09:52

It's been in the top news section and all over twitter, different speakers have been leading the crowd in chants of "Free Palestine" and "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free". Many Jewish women have left in disgust.

Exactly. Which proves that this is not about what's being discussed, but about anti women sentiment.

Merrymouse · 11/10/2025 10:06

BundleBoogie · 11/10/2025 08:59

Just wow!!

Sian Berry blames the women for the violence against them.

How much do we want to bet that her offer of ‘help to prevent all this’ involved having the event cancelled or moved elsewhere?

How much does she hate women?

How much does she hate her constituents?

Conferences and hospitality are a key industry in Brighton, but apparently she wants to limit venue hire to her political allies?

PiningForTheMoon · 11/10/2025 10:07

OMFG. What a victim blaming idiot she is.

I was never a fan but this is below the belt. Her tweet reads like a parody.

Greyskybluesky · 11/10/2025 10:07

I am really concerned about the emergence of no-go areas for women wanting to discuss their lives

SingleSexSpacesInSchools · 11/10/2025 09:50

The local council are even more TWAW than Sian if you can believe it.

The trans activists would disagree with you. Both the people who vandalised the venue and Brighton Pride put out statements which included complaints about how unsupportive the council to them ie the council doesn't do everything they want. Brighton Pride accused them of promising to fly trans flags but then reneging on that (council said it was black history month so that was taking precedence but that wasn't good enough apparently!).
